Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L & Altenew Blog hop!

Happy Friday! Today we are hopping along with Altenew!

Both Altenew and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® will have TWO giveaways valued at $30.
Winners will be picked randomly along the blog hop. Comments must be left by Monday, Nov 23 11:59pm EST. Winners will be announced on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Altenew blogs on Nov 25th.

I recently got the Socahtoa stamp set and am in LOVE with how versatile it is!  I love how all the elements can work together, and it has a ton of great sentiments.  I stamped the striped triangle elements in varying colors and then popped the panel up with some Crafty Foam Tape.

I figure we will be needing a few "thank you's" after Christmas, what better time than now to get started on them! Again, all stamps are from the Socahtoa set, and my main panel is popped up using Crafty Foam Tape.

Make sure to check out the rest of the blogs, and comment for a chance to win. ;)

Happy Birthday-Lil' Inkers Monthly Meetup Challenge

Hola!  I was able to squeeze a card in for this months Meetup Challenge over at Lil' Inkers Designs.

This months theme was Star of the Show, and while my LID supplies are slightly limited, I managed to sneak some stars as a focal point hopefully. ;)

Since I am in full holiday crafting mode, a change of pace was welcomed.  My daughter has several friends with birthdays coming up, so of course a birthday card it is!

The grey card base has a strip of silver washi tape up the side as well, but it's quite faint in this pic.  The sentiment is from Balloon Builders, and the dies are from the Balloon dies set.  I colored each balloon with my clear wink of stella pen and splattered a bit more silver ink to pull it all together.

enjoy! :)

Calling All Sistahs Blog hop

Welcome to the Calling all Sistahs blog hop! You should have arrived from the *famously* talented Jennifer Ingle, if not, head back on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog.

Today is the Special Release of the Calling All Sistahs collection from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.
This collection is available only at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, and has its own unique packaging because 50% of the profits from this collection will be donated to breast cancer awareness and research programs!!

won't bore you with my fight, but it was for early detection, and self checks that I found my cancer.  I can't stress enough, know your body, check your self.  I was too young for a mammogram.

On to the card!

For my card today, I used the Calling All Sistas for the background. I love that sentiment, and probably say it a little too much sometimes. ;)  I stamped it again in black, and then finished it off with the Sistahs Fr-Dies 'Sistahs' sentiment, and snipped off the 's' at the end. You could easily adapt these stamps for almost anything.  ;)

Please make sure to check out all the posts today, and head on over to Joanna Harty's blog next! To see the whole line up, head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog. and shop the look here.  ;)

Pink Power Blog Hop *Fight Like a Girl*

Hello- Welcome to the Pink Power Blog Hop.  Chaitali has rounded up some of her crafty friends to help spread BC awareness. This is a cause close to her heart because she lost her mom to it earlier this year.

She wanted to have a hop that would help spread breast cancer awareness and support our loved ones going through treatment currently.

If you came from Vera's blog, you are in the right place!  If not, head back to Chaitali's blog and start there.

I have spent the last few weeks working on a benefit for one of the teachers at my daughters school who is battling breast cancer for 5 years now.  Sadly, she lost her fight early Saturday morning, the day of the event.  She found it late, stage 3 and has been in and out of treatment since her diganosis.  Early diagnosis is the key.  I myself am a 4 year survivor, and am thankful for finding it early.  Please remember to get checked and to REGULARLY check your self.

A few random facts that I learned along my journey.

  • Cancer does hurt.  Yes, my lump caused me so much pain and discomfort, it was the reason I decided to go in.
  • Cancer doesn't wait for you to be 40.  I kept thinking, I'm too young for cancer.
  • I had Triple Negative Breast Cancer, the most aggressive type.  There is no targeted therapy for TNBC, leaving it to have the highest rates of reoccurrence, and primarily targeting women under 40, and African American Women.  Again, EARLY DETECTION is the key here.
  • Bald isn't so bad, WAY less time in the morning getting ready.  (Although chilly when it's winter!) But I don't want to have to do it again. ;)
  • Reconstruction isn't easy or fun.  No, I'm not "lucky'' I have these fake ones. I might have NOT done it had I known just how involved it was.
  • Laughter will carry you far while battling this disease.
  • Learn to ask for help.  Take help. Don't be a hero trying to do it all.
  • Lastly, ditch Dr. Google.  He has the WORST advice when you are first going through it all.
On to my card. :)

I was able to use the very set that Chaitali designed Pink Power, for my project today. She designed the set for her mom with a lot of love when her mom was undergoing treatment.

I decided to use the Fight like a girl sentiment on my card.  That was my motto through it all.  I made this to give to my daughters teacher.

Next Stop on the hop is Julee's blog, and at the end head back on over to Chaitali's blog for a giveaway!   :)
Thanks Chaitali for including me on this hop! Pin It Now!

I decided to focus on a card today- it's what I do.  ;)  I paired it with a little gift box that is splattered with the Pigment Powder in Gold.  My card is for a friend with a birthday coming up, and I am for ONCE ahead of the game.  She loves stars, so it was a perfect launching point to use the E-Z Stars Runner Refillable! I found the coordinating paper and thought I could pull that in as well.

I just love how the sentiment turned out! I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink, rubbed the  Pigment Powder in Gold over it and WOW.  SO cool.  I cant wait to try the other colors as well.

For my card base, I added a strip of stars using the E-Z Stars Runner Refillable.

Using her Pigment Powder in Gold, I sprinkled it over the adhesive stars.  Repeat as you add more stars.  I also used the Pigment Powder in Blue as well on a few.

Another great use for the Pigments- to add a bit of depth to my little treat box, I mixed some of the Gold Pigment Powder with water, and splattered it on top of the box lid.  This creates a great sparkly shine. ;)  *I did seal with a fixative to avoid it from smearing or rubbing off.

I love the size of these Dodz™ XL!  I rolled the natural colored Canvas Ribbon like a cigar, and then twisted it into itself to make a little flower. I adhered it (and the straggler canvas pieces for extra dimension also)  to the Dodz XL and then to my card.

Here are the other posting today as well:

Donna Salazar with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Product used: E-Z Stars Runner Refillable; Dodz™ XL;  Canvas Ribbons; Pigment Powder in Blue & Gold

Other Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Product used: Crafty Foam Tape, Dodz™ Crafty Power Tape; 3D Foam Squares.

CardMaker and Avery Elle Blog hop!

Happy Monday!  What an amazing weekend we had- why cant we make them 3 days long..2 just isn't enough sometimes. ;)

Today the CardMaker Blog team are hopping along with Avery Elle!   You should have arrived from Katie Gehring's blog, if not start at the CardMaker Blog!

I got the perfect set to work with today- Little Minds.  My daughters teacher is moving away, and this will make the perfect send off to her.  I wanted to use primary colors, but freshen them up a bit.
I die cut the heart from blue card stock, then stamped the coordinating image.  I finished it off with a few extra mini heart embellishments- they are too cute! ;)

They make perfect little accents, especially with a bit of irresistible pico embellished in shimmer on the top of them.
Next on the list is Caryn Davies, make sure to check out the giveaway over on the Avery Elle Blog as well!

Enjoy! :)

Hello card using @lilinkerdesigns

Hello- I have a happy card for this months Monthly Meetup Challenge over at Lil' Inker Designs Blog!

I thought I would make the focus of the card on the Hello stamp from the Darling Diamonds set.  Ive been trying to build up my stash of cards to have on hand, and often the basic sentiments are easiest to use up- they can fit any occasion.
I lightly sprayed some Sheer Shimmer Spritz in frost on the card front first- this is one of my fave items in my stash of things to use.  I had to angle my card to show off the shimmer- it's just such a fine mist of sparkly spray.  *(Try the gold on Kraft- it's so amazing. ;)

enjoy! :)

Many Thanks using @SimonSaysStamp #thecoloroffun

Popping in to share a card I created using the new Simon Says Stamp Color of Fun release.

I am using the new set Many Thanks set for my card today- I can easily see this set being used over and over- It's such an awesome font, love those flowers- so many options.

I thought I would create a background using the flowers.  I used the new Rosie Cheeks colors as my primary color, then filled in with other shades of pink/coral from my stash.
I embossed the sentiment on vellum with gold detail powder from Stampendous.

To finish it off, I spritzed a bit of Sheer Shimmer Spritz, (my fave for adding fine spray of shimmer) in gold and added a few PPP sequins.  Love those sparkling clear sequins- they are a go to color!

Thinking of you

Hello- Happy Thursday!

I am sharing this card over on the CardMaker Blog today for a U Inspire me post on finding inspiration in either art, home decor, or fashion, etc.  Check out the CardMaker blog to see my inspiration piece.

I thought I would also share here, and the super simple way I did the background.

To create the background, it starts with just these three Art GRIP® Aquarelles and watercolor paper.  It'a all done by building layers of color and adding little by little.  I lightly colored the whole sheet with the lightest of the blue, then went over it with a wet paintbrush to bring it to life.
You can see my cheat sheet underneath.  I have wet and dry samples to see actual color.

Next I want to add the varying colored striations, so I am using a scratch piece of watercolor paper, and I scribble the colors onto this sheet and pick them up with a wet paintbrush.  If your color is too intense, you can always lighten it with more water.

I would let it sit and dry just a tad, and can add color directly onto the paper this way also, I tend to be heavy handed when I color, so I prefer the blended look from using a scratch paper.  The other fun way to add color is to lightly wet your paper, and then VERY lightly drag the pencil through the wetness and it leaves beautiful streaks.

Another fun trick is you can do is to mix them on your scratch paper.  I colored both colors here to get a different color to add.

You just build layers of color little by little until you are happy with the results.  Sometimes less is more, and it's hard to stop! ;)  I have never got the Copic coloring skill down, but I love watercoloring.  Not only is it slightly therapeutic, it's easy and VERY forgiving.

To finish the card off, I adhered it to a Kraft card base, added a few die cut flowers, and my sentiment.  I also added a few touches of gold from a Wink of Stella pen.

Art GRIP® Aquarelle Water Color Pencils Blue (#143, #154, and #153)- Design Memory Craft by Faber-Castell; Stamps- Laurels, Avery Elle; Dies- S6-033 Marisa’s Bouquet –Spellbinders; Crafty Foam Tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®; Wink of Stella pen in Gold, Zig; Watercolor paper, cardstock.
