A is for Ally...

I have been wanting to alter one of these paper mache letters from JoAnn fabrics for a while now, and finally found time to give one a try~
I did this one for my daughters friend for a Christmas present, they were Advent Angels at Church.

It was actually challenging to get the paper placed nicely on it! I had started out with one idea in my head, and of course, another came as a result of my constant mind changing.

I personally am not a fan of this print, so I am not overall excited about the end result...However, I am told that for a 5 year old who likes girly stuff, she was very happy. Could be the GINORMOUS prima also.
Something about it doesn't appeal to me...weird huh?
Ever make something for someone who loved it, but you weren't happy with it?

The back side is covered with the flip side of this paper which is the pink polka dots.
I hope I got enough bling and sparkle!! Each small prima has stickles, the center brad to the big flower is covered in stickles, I lined the edges with stickles, did rows of glitter and stickles, one row of microbeads, and the various rows of blingy brads. At the bottom right corner I stamped the definition You from define your life, and the miscellaneous flowers and butterflies.

I managed to pick a larger W and L to do for my kids, when time permits. This A is maybe a foot tall, the letters I got for my kids are just about 2 feet tall. Much more space to screw up if I don't like it! Pin It Now!

Merry it was!

We had a great Christmas, and are still trying to come down from the energy high it created!

Here are my future rockers! My daughter is *really* getting into it! Santa brought them rock band. I think my oldest (the husband *wink*) loves it the most!

I am busy with kids, cleaning/organizing, putting away Christmas, and tearing down my stamp room. My husband plans on putting in a new window which just happens to be right in the middle of my space. This is forcing me to do the ultimate cleaning and organizing I so desperately need to do in there! It's a good thing to do while we wait for the fore casted 1-4" of snow!!!

So, hopefully you are all enjoying your down time after the holidays!! Pin It Now!

Another birdie card

I really am enjoying this bird~ it does remind me of the hero arts birdie everyone was using recently (which I couldn't find!) and the sayings are great.
This one went out int the mail the other day~ hoping to get to someone's house in time for her birthday... *wink* any guesses???

I am on a stickles kick lately. Everything has been getting sparkly around here! This bird is stamped in palette noir and then lightly colored in with river rock, and covered with stickles and popped up with dimensionals.
Even with using my SAMJ, my sentiment looks a tad crooked. If you agree with me, don't look at the sentiment!

Have a fabulous 2 days before Christmas!! I cannot believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and am busy cleaning my house in anticipation of 25 people coming for dinner on Tuesday!!!

Details: A little birdie told me, So swirly wheel; WW, River Rock, Choc Chip CS. River Rock, Palette Noir, & Choc Chip classic inks. Choc satin ribbon, brads, punches, dimensionals, & mat pack all SU! Stickles is star dust. Pin It Now!

Some holiday happiness in the kitchen

I love to cook and bake, and my daughter loves to do the same. She is always wanting to help.
Here she is adding some vanilla in to our dough, and wants to know what she can do next!!

She would rather bake than taste test, I had to bribe her to try one, she was worried she was going to miss out on something else if she stopped to eat!

The first batch of cookies are holiday snowballs (they remind me of Russian tea cakes) that we made for my husbands work. They are really easy and yummy!! I love cookies that are like 5 ingredients!

The last batch is the easiest little treat you can make~ I am not sure if there is a name form them, but we make them about 8 different ways. These happen to be pretzels with the candy cane Hershey kisses *slightly* melted on top. YUM!! Everyone in our house loves these!! You can add regular kisses and then an M&M on top, or I use rolos occasionally. (YUM-caramel) It's that mix of sweet/salty. This candy cane one seems to be the fave this year. And they are kind of festive looking! Note~ the candy cane Hersheys kisses melt like 10 times faster than the regular, so about 3 minutes in the oven at 250 is plenty!

Well day number two of winter break, and the kids have started the day the way I had hoped for....fighting!! We went and saw Alvin & the Chipmunks was cute. A teeny bit funny. The kids really enjoyed it. Mr. Magoriums Magic Emporium is at our dollar theater already, we may head up there to take it in today~
Have a super day! Pin It Now!

Can't ever have too much sparkle...

And one more from Big On Christmas~ What a fun set~ You know how some sets just work well for you, this is one for me!! These are a tad un-traditional colors for a Christmas card, but I like how it turned out.

So, I stamped the 'Happy' on shimmery white using versafine onyx. Stamped the tree again, cut, colored, adhered rhinestones to it, and mounted it with dimensionals. I used the "in" colors to color in the rest of the letters, and then went over with the stickles again. WOW! love the sparkle!!

The main blue bayou ds paper is pierced all around the edge, and the smaller is soft sky~ not sure if the lighting shows it well. Both are matted on black, (which makes everything pop!) and the sentiment is popped up on dimensionals.

Well, today we are making cookies to take up to the police department, and I am hoping to get some wrapping done as well. I would *love* to have all presents wrapped by Wednesday- that's my sons last day of school.
Have a super day!!

Details: Big on Christmas. WW, Black, & Shimmery CS. Blue Bayou & Soft Sky DS papers. black versafine, guava, wasabi, blue bayou, & soft sky classic inks. Brads, Ribbon, paper piercing tool/mat pack, dimensionals- all SU! Stickles are star dust, & rhinestones are Darice brand. Pin It Now!

December 15, 2007

This is such a fun set to work with!

Too bad I *just* now got it! I will be using it in some of my scrap books though~
I just love how it makes a simple yet fabulous card as well.

I stamped the Noel in versafine onyx and colored in with real red, bashful, and olive. I stamped the ornament a second time, cut it out and adhered it to the card front with a dimensional, (which is also holding my gold cord down)
I went over the letters with my stickles in a very nice thick line to achieve the awesome glittery look!! I put a little stickles on the ornaments hangy-ma-bobber thing. *wink*
What is that thing called that holds the hook???

Thanks for all of your fabulously kind words about my cruddy day yesterday~ I was all geared up to attend a banquet for my husbands work last night, relax and forget about my day, and then bam, he gets called out to a barricaded subject. Happy Holidays~ the crazies are coming out!! Needless to say, we arrived a tad bit late... Pin It Now!

Ugh...slow down and enjoy the season!!!

Some days are just rough. Nothing like feeling stressed and rushed throughout what is supposed to be a joyous time of year. I was driving today to pick up a stamp set I won, and BAM!!! A HUGE rock came right at my windshield and left a crack the size and shape of a basketball! :( not cool.
Scared the bejeebers out of me, and my poor little daughter!! So, I am a bit frazzled at this point in the day.
Then, we go to have lunch with some friends, and I left the keys in the front seat, shut the door and went around to let Lauren out. Door was locked. Ugh. She was not happy. So I ask her to unbuckle and unlock her door. Not gonna happen. She can't do the bottom potion of her car seat buckle. She starts to panic and starts crying.

So far I have now traumatized my daughter not once, but twice today! Thankfully, I had the thought to have my girlfriend check my door again, and sure enough, it was not locked! Thank God! I was a nervous stressed out wreck by this point of my morning!
Lesson learned.....slow it down.

Hopefully you can stop and smell the flowers today... :) Pin It Now!

Another Christmas card to share

I love quick and easy cards...I think I have said this before. Here is another from fast and fun notes. *LOVE* that set!!

I matted the wintergreen ds paper and the focal image with artichoke, colored in the dots on the tree with sage, and used celery brads for ornaments.

I think there is *someone* looking for this card out there...I couldn't hold out any longer with keeping the secret. *wink*

Oh~ and the funnies from yesterday have gone around my Church now, *most* people seemed to have enjoyed it. Merry Christmas!!!
Have a super day! Pin It Now!

EK Success Advisory Board

So, I recently was put on to the EK Success Advisory board. I thought it would be fun!

So, I go this sample in the mail. It's temp and re-positionable. It is along the lines of your mono adhesive. Along with it comes a survey asking you to go to their link and fill it out, let them know, you know, blah, blah, blah.

Ugh~ it's terrible. I couldn't get it to glide and let the tape adhere to anything, and it is gummy beyond belief.

My recommendation....Don't waste you $$. Told the advisory board the same thing~ would use it if ya paid me to!!

There is a larger size, and a permanent type, still wouldn't use those either!! Sticking with my mono multi and my ATG!!

Well~ back to prepping for the holidays...A few more days of getting it all done before both kids are home all day long for two full weeks. Not that I don't love my kids, I am just thoroughly concerned for their educational needs and am a firm believer that they should go to school year round!!! *wink*!! Pin It Now!

December 8, 2007

Here's another one

Like the other one....
This paper is quite bright and cheery. I usually am a little more subdued in my color choices, but at least I am using the colors up! ;) The actual colors in the paper are teal, olive, pumpkin and rose red, but I used turquoise and pom~ close enough!!!
I really like these birds, I am looking forward to having more time to play with them after the Holidays. Too many things around here that need my attention....the house is a wreck!

Last night I went to see the Nutcracker with my mom and sister, it was fabulous! (with the exception of the couple behind me eating their bag of peanuts, come on...this is not the movies!) Then we had a late dinner at the melting pot...Just what I needed after my extremely long and miserable week!

Someone please tell me that my 8 year old will learn to make better choices in the near future....

Anyhow, it's Saturday, and it's beautiful out! I will *try* and accomplish what I can today with regards to holiday preparations....and then it's off to a work Christmas party! Yea, another break! Tomorrow we're running the jingle bell run at Westlake~ wish me luck! (I haven't had great success running in extreme cold temps!) The weather is calling for around 28 degrees when we start! Have a great one~

Gotta love new rubber!!!

I had my day all planned yesterday~ get on the treadmill for my 3 miles, run some errands, clean, go through clothes to give to Goodwill, drop them off, etc. blah, blah, blah.

Then my package showed up on my doorstep, and well, I was having a cruddy day dealing with the I caved and stamped!!! I really like these birdies! They are so great! And they were perfect to do the paper piecing technique with! The main panel is popped up on dimensionals.

New rubber makes people smile, doesn't it??? Or just me? I only ordered this set, and the 'A Beautiful thing' set. I am going to wait and take a looksee at the catty before I decide on if I want any others....
Anyhoo....just thought I would share! ;)

I'm here, just slow!

I have been trying to get up each morning and run, which seems to be affecting my stamping time(that and the fact that I can not find my desk in my office!). However, yesterday I seemed to have shaved 5 minutes off of my time! yea!
I definitely need to spend like a day and clean and organize, it's just that the rest of the house needs it also!!!
We have our whole family over fro Christmas, and I am working on getting all the decorations up.

Back to this card~ another quick one. December is a definite quick card month! This is from my class last week, and can you believe this is like the second time I have inked up this set!? They are slow stampers, and I keep it real basic for them~

I do get new items today, so maybe I will take a day off from the holidays and play!

Have a fabulous day!!

Another short & sweet.

This card was inspired by Becky's card which I just loved! I love it when a card can be created quickly and is still a good design.

This is a self explanatory one, but I will lay it out for ya....The snowflakes are from short and sweet, and are done in the new "in" colors. The cord is tied through the button and glued on with a glue dot. Layered it onto red, and stamped my sentiment. I used the same layout (leftovers from a class) and turned it into a thank you card using the flower from the set instead.

I have been quiet around here lately...I am trying to get my butt in shape on the treadmill each morning and it's hindering my stamping time!! I am doing a 5K on Sunday and was *hoping* to be able to run it all....time will tell, today my legs are a tad, what's the word.....SORE!!!! I am taking a break from the treadmill today to work on Christmas stuff....if I can stand up long enough to do it!!
Have a fantastic day! Pin It Now!

In Loving Memory...

While he may be due to be leaving us, I do *sort* of think I will miss him!! He is a classic!

Well here is my tribute to Frosty~ This card I did at my Christmas Card class last week. Nothing to fancy here, a bit on the basic side, to ensure stampers went home at a reasonable hour! This is a perfect card that could be kicked up a notch if you were at home (not in my kitchen!!!) and wanted to add more to it.

We had a crazy day of weather yesterday~ it snowed all day off and on. The kids were so excited to see it, and decided to fight the whole way to the birthday party about whose side had more snow.

Every time my daughter saw white, she yelled out "Look out my side" and every time my son saw white, he yelled the same. (a tad louder though!!)
I was a bit relieved to see it rain finally, I knew the snow rush would finally dissipate!

Off to bake about 13 dozen cookies for our annual Christmas Cookie Exchange party! Pin It Now!

My elf name is....

Your Elf Name Is...

Trixie Hot Chocolate

Ha! I like Shannan's better!!
We have a busy weekend planned, (like, who doesn't this time of year!) And I am hoping to get a few pics uploaded here. I had a tad bit of kid drama today~ school called, come get your kid sort of stuff....I will spare you the deets on why my son spent his afternoon writing 100 sentences. :) (This was a mad smiley face earlier today!)
We are off to Snoqualmie Falls for pictures and then Port Orchard for a surprise bday party, and then I will top the evening off with some shopping. Need some party clothes!
As always~ have a super weekend! Pin It Now!

Christmas Card class

I am doing a Christmas card class today, and here is one of my cards for them to do. This layout was taken from the Stampin' Success mag, it's one of the ones they show in the back. (Can't remember which month though) The circles are the 1 1/4" circle punch for dimension.

There are a few things I may change though~ On the tag, I don't like how faint the snowflake is, I may have them punch out a white circle in place of the vellum. (My bashful craft pad is pretty dry, otherwise that could be an option) These ladies just love to stamp though, and sometimes I need the cards to move quickly otherwise they are tucking my kids into bed with me!

I still have a few cards to get together for them, so I am off to see what else I can quickly come up with!

Some holiday fun...

I did stamp yesterday~ but wanted to share this with you first~

I had seen these all over SCS, but my flash player wasn't working right, so I finally downloaded a new pug in and had a little fun of my own~
check it out!!

Have fun!!

I'm here, I'm here!! I took a much needed break from everything this last week, and it was nice!!

I was able to get 95% of my Christmas shopping done, and help my husband put in new windows, and I even got back on the treadmill. No treadmill today, I went waaaay overboard yesterday.

So, my sister came over Sunday and we hung out and scrap booked a bit. I was able to get one page done, and another two page layout started.

I just love this picture of my daughter, and I like to make the pictures the focal point, so I went a tad minimalistic here. Besides, How do you cover this gorgeous paper up?

After the long Thanksgiving break, I am feeling a tad refreshed and ready to get knee deep in paper!

Have a super Thanksgiving!!

While I have nothing new to share at the moment, (I have been on a stamping break!) I thought I would resurface to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!

I am off to get a paper to scope out the ads for tomorrow! Yep, I am heading our at the crack of dawn to shop with the best of them!
It's actually a bit fun if you have no expectations and just go to get our there.

I don't have to cook today, so I am enjoying just being a tad lazy~~

Have a great day!!

I will admit it-

I am a less is more type of gal...
I got this yummmmy ribbon from Shannan, and was trying to use it on this card with this image, but it covered up to much of the ribbon!! I just love the way it looks without it.
I got this sentiment free from Gina K when I ordered the sunflower and coneflower stamps, how awesome is that?! I don't know if she throws a free sentiment in every time you order, but that is so sweet of her!

I am having family over to scrap book today, hopefully, I can get a few sketches done that I have seen posted all over this weekend! I spent all day yesterday trying to get ready for Christmas, bought a few things, but mostly wanted to window shop for ideas. I can't believe how packed and crazy the mall already was!

Have a super Sunday~

November 17, 2007

I ordered this stamp a while ago, not sure how long, but it has sat un-inked for what could be considered a felonious amount of time for our little hobby!

I love these flowers, now I just have to learn to use them in other colors!! This stamp is from Gina K, and I also got the sunflower one as well. I LOVE sunflowers!!

Again, with my less is more theory, is a simple layout. The image is stamped in Black stazon onto shimmery white, colored in, and mounted with dimensionals. The rest is pretty self explanatory!! Shimmery does such a fabulous job of allowing the color to blend just right, and allows the water to soak in nicely with out ruining the image.

And did you notice my watermark? I have had this stinkin' photo software for 2 months (came with my new camera) and didn't know it had all these *super* features!! Finally! I really am too cheap to buy photo software just for a watermark! However it is quite simple to use! That was a fun little discovery! Now to figure the rest of it out...Have a fantastic Saturday!

Details: Coneflower by Gina K Designs. Choc Chip, Rust, Mustard, Olive, & Shimmery White CS. Black Stazon, Cocoa, Caramel, Olive, Mustard, & Rust classic inks. Paper Piercing tool, brads, hemp, & dimensionals- all SU! Pin It Now!

November 16, 2007

And Another!

I did another challenge! Yea! It's so nice when you can stamp for fun!
I will admit it, I love a simpler layout. Clean & uncluttered. I know some of you just *have* to fill in the space (Shannan, I am not pointing fingers!!) but I am a less is more type of gal *most* of the time!

So the limited supplies were: 2-3 stamps, ds paper OR an embellishment, one tool, and limit the layers.

I stamped the heart from short and sweet on Shimmery white, mounted it onto red, and then popped it up with dimensionals. I stamped the baroque, and wanted the little stem thingy to come out from under the hearts, so I stamped it again with masking and just the tip of the stamp.
Hope you like it, it came together pretty quick once I figured out what I wanted to do!!

Off to run errands!! Have a great day!!

yea for me...

I was able to get in this weeks CC140 and I am a few days late, but I love it!

I was reading how many people don't have Kraft and I am amazed, I LOVES it!! It is such an awesome neutral! And I never did get the pomegranate ink pad, just the spot...Can I tell you-it's not so easy to ink a wheel with a spot!!
Get the pad!!'s the deets~ I have to get Lauren off to preschool! Then I plan on stamping some more! Don't tell my husband, I have lots of laundry to do, dishes and other chores I am avoiding.

This is just so awesome!

Can I just tell you how awesome this card is!?!?
It is a RAK from Denise Hinton (geekgirl415)
for my daughter's 4th birthday!
How super sweet was that?

And she has the nerve to say she is just a "pretend" friend! Hardly!!! :)

Denise~ thanks so very much! she loves all things pink, so you made her day!!!

I am trying to get my stamping space organized again, (it's such a mess again) and I have a few projects I want to work on.
Have a super day!! Pin It Now!

What a crazy weekend! I officially have nothing on my plate for about 10 days!! Yea!
I am going to stamp for me, and try to get back to my scrap pages.

On that note, here is a fun little container I managed to whip up today.
It is an empty Crystal Light container, (we used it all up Sunday at my daughters birthday) and I thought it would make a fun gift package out of it. I wrapped the lid with real red ribbon, and then a layer of River Rock DS grosgrain right below. The marry Christmas is stamped on the label classics tag, cut out and mounted on a red piece with dimensionals
(which is also mounted with dimensionals).

The marvy scallop punch (pink) fit perfectly for the lid and the bottom~ my fave~ quick and easy!!!
Tied a big ol' old olive bow and it's ready to be filled with some yummy treat!! Pin It Now!

New banner!!!

What a super busy weekend! Birthday's and youth group activities, and cub scout activities, I did no stamping! Back to the daily grind tomorrow!! Get ready!

So, what do you think of my new blog banner???
Denise Hinton (geekgirl415) made it for me!! I just love it!

Well~ lots of pictures to upload from the weekend, lots of cleaning, and lot's of TY's to send out.
Did you know Thanksgiving is NEXT week??? That means Black Friday is also next week!
I need to get on the stick with Christmas planning!!!

have a super Veteran's day!!! Pin It Now!

November 9, 2007

What's on my plate?

Besides my daughters birthday (tomorrow!!!) and party planning, we have a youth group event Monday where the kids are making these ornaments for the tree.

They are made with a softer wood, so they are quite light weight, and will hang nicely from the tree. They come natural, so I am going to be painting them all red first (in between my PTA meeting today, ordering a bday cake, buying food for the party, shopping for another bday present for a friend of ours, and *trying* to clean the house somewhat!!!)

My upline originally gave this to me, and it turned out to be such an adorable (and somewhat cheap) idea we decided the kids would love them.

Ideally you can use the other sides to place pictures, I think I will make some for the grandparents as well!

I am off to finish my pot-o-coffee. My son came in at 4 this morning with a bad dream, and after laying around for about 45 minutes, and not being bale to get back to sleep, I figured I better just get up! I will pay for it later, I am sure! Pin It Now!

November 8, 2007

Welcome to the next edition of.....

.....How many different ways can you go at once.

Wow, I cannot believe just how time flies. So, (a day late!) here is my daughters *first* day of preschool!! She is in the pink camo pants. I wasn't going to do preschool this year, or at least the whole year. I had planned on trying to find a spot towards February/March, with the intentions of having her get the idea of school, and be ready for next year. Well, the school she is in is very hard to get in, so I had to jump when this opening came. But, she will be assured a spot here next year. How cute is she? She is so proud!!

So I have a class to prep for tonight, my husband is home sick, Lauren turns four on Saturday, we have an ALL day event planned with the cub scouts Saturday, then drop my son off at another birthday party, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN for Lauren's party on Sunday, and a youth group event on Monday for 40 kids, which I get to prepare all the crafts for.
So.....I am a tad overwhelmed, hence the title to this post today! Off to get something accomplished! Pin It Now!

November 6, 2007

So, tried the snowflake technique (or starburst) on a card, but then it donned on me that they would make fabulous ornaments, PLUS I was able to use some of my pretties! The first is my favorite, not sure why, just like it better! ;)

It uses mulberry and whisper white, has four layers total, and a pearl on each side. It's just so clean and crisp looking.

The second uses vellum, is 3 layers, and the glue I used to add the sparkles gave it kind of a warped shape~ It's not as crisp and clean looking (probably why I like it less). It has a large rhinestone brad on both sides.

Maybe I should photograph them on something that isn't white, just does them justice!

Both layers are held together by the big glue dot ( I am talking the big booger like one) and the cord was placed in the middle.

Check in tomorrow~ I have a picture of my daughters FIRST day of Preschool!! WooHOO!!
She had a blast, and I wanted to cry! Busy week, she turns FOUR on Saturday!! Pin It Now!

November 5, 2007

Punch Art

I saw this technique by Shadow Mill on SCS and thought I would give it a whirl!

What do ya think? I didn't want to over do the rest of the card to take away from the Snowflake itself, so I tried to give it a hint of simple. ;)

The card is gray, and the layers are bayou and sky. The snowflake is made from mulberry and ww. I also made a few into ornaments using mulberry and vellum.

Off to finish cleaning!! I am making some serious headway with organizing my work area~ I have collected a *ton* of CRAP! I am going to send all of my samples/card fronts/and swaps I no longer use or need to Amber Shaw to send off to the troops~ Send some if you can! Pin It Now!

November 3, 2007

And step away from the candy basket!!! Ok, so who's freakin' bright idea was it to have Halloween kick off the Holiday Season?

I mean are we not going to be eating a *ton* of food over the next two months? I have gained like 5 pounds eating the candy (because I do not want my kids loading up with too much sugar!!) and I have already dropped off half of it at the police department. Allrighty~ rant over. ;)

So, I am still skipping Scrapbook Sunday and am hoping to get back into getting a few pages done soon!!! Here is another layout from my group meeting last week. I just *LOVE* this snowflake!! I am on the fence with ordering it! It's fabulous!

So, I really need to clean my craft room, it looks like a total disaster and I have been avoiding cleaning it for a while! I can't get ready for my next class without venturing in and at least trying to straighten it's to the point of renting one of those big canisters people have in their yards when they are remodeling, you know what I am talking about right?
I will give it a go later today after church. Which by the way we will not be racing late to since this fabulous Daylight Savings time switch gave me an extra hour!!! Pin It Now!

Happy Weekend!

It's Saturday~ and I have a LOT of cleaning to make up for this week. My husband got up around 6 and starting cleaning, *so* nice!

Here is a card we did at our group meeting last week~ I am contemplating ordering this set with my $20 the time I get it though, it may be too late to use it. It is *so* fun! Still need to decide on something.
So the first picture is the card unfolded with just the score marks, and the second is it folded free standing like a box. You can fold this flat to fit into a standard size legal envie.

The measurements where you score are- 3 1/4, 6 1/2, & 9 3/4. The little flap from the 9 3/4 score mark can be secured to the base to make it stand up. Not sure if the picture shows well enough, it's triangle in shape when placed together.

Have a super Saturday, I have four million errands to run, clean, and later tonight my husband and I are going to dinner with grownups. No kids. Fun stuff! Pin It Now!

Fun card fold

I suppose I could even say Fun Card Fold Friday~ but I don't want to start that up just yet ;) I did this a group meeting last week (the one where I was nervous about doing a booth)
We always have some fun samples to leave with.

This is just a basic piece of cs fold over and stapled closed, DS paper slapped on top, round tab punch notch, and your good to go!

The inside (second picture) opens up normal like.
Pretty easy peasy stuff!! Cute though!

So, with doing my booth last week, I was given $20 to spend on anything in the catty...I am having a heck of a time deciding on something!
I can get a brag book, a simply scrappin kit, paper, inks, ribbons, anything. What should I get? The stamps I want are either *way* over in price, or a little under. I have too many stamps as it is (shhh, please don't rat me out!!!) I can't even get them all inked up!! Any suggestions??

Okay~ This is the busy time of year, so hopefully I can keep up with all that I have going on!
Happy November!! I saw on someone blog a countdown to Christmas.....not sure I want to know days just yet! Ack! Pin It Now!

One last Halloween RAK and USPS rant

So, I need to share this Halloween RAK so we can move on to the next Holiday season!! My husband starting taking Halloween decorations down last night!! He is ready, and so is my daughter! She is petrified of most all of our decorations, we actually left most of them boxed up. She cried so much when we pulled them all our to decorate, it just wasn't worth it!!

Anyway, back to the RAK~ it's from Jody (texasjodylynn) who is our group leader for the DSS on SCS. She sent all of the coordinators a fun little package for Halloween! Isn't is fabulous! Check out the ribbons, brads, and even little bat punchies!! The second photo is a up close of her gun holder she made, it has fabulous little piercings along the bottom, and the bat is a brad! Way cute!!!

Lastly, this is a card from my SS on SCS, and the mail handlers had there way with it!! Have you ever seen a card so trashed? They sent an apology plastic wrap, but wow! Just what were they doing with it? I am not sure if really do care, but it was sort of funny. The card was ruined, but I could still enjoy most of it. It's almost like they rubbed steak on it, and let the dogs go for it!

Well, I am off to Target to see what deals I can score on Halloween goods for next year~ maybe Lauren will let us decorate next year! ;)
Have a super day! Pin It Now!

What a difference a year makes! The latter is my daughter last Halloween, and the top is this year, (she still fits this shirt!!) look at her hair! Wowsers. She will be four in ten days, and has never had her hair trimmed!

She has been very persistent in not wanting it cut, and I *finally* have her talked in a teeny weeny trim.

By the time she is really ready to let go of it, it will make some young girl very happy I hope!! It is so beautiful, but it also so much work. In the back it literally comes to her but.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!! Pin It Now!

Where have you been!?

Happy Tuesday!!
Well at least for me it is, I got to sleep in today, and again tomorrow! Student Led Conferences!! Woohoo! On the down side, I have both kids to entertain and referee!!!

I have been overly busy, it's the time of year ya know. Halloween parties, and classes, booths, daily routine stuff, blah, blah blah!!
So, when I have too much on my plate, my blog is the one that suffers~ Sorry! I don't want to burn out, so something has to give!! I have already given up housecleaning! :)

I wanted to share a few things that I received, the first one is a tin from my upline~ How cute is it!! It's full of candies! It's a 'Republic of Tea' brand tin if your curious, and I think it's adorable!!!

Second is one of the cards I have received from my Secret Sis this month! Love this also~ I need new Christmas sentiments, and I just *heart* the font on this one!

Also, I went to this allergist on Friday~ He gave me some new meds to try, and I will be starting shots here shortly. The new meds are already showing a huge improvement. Yea for me!

I am going to carve pumpkins with the kids today~ (more photo ops) make Halloween cookies, and *hopefully* clean my craft room. I cannot find my desk! I was going to take a picture, but I was far too embarrassed. DISASTER! I have so many ideas I want to try, and I can't!!!

Lastly Denise tagged me, so I will do that as well. Have a great day!! Pin It Now!

I am off and running...

Just a super quick post today~ I am going back for a follow up appointment with my allergist today, and then I have to finish making my display board for our big group meeting tomorrow. I am a *tad* nervous, I don't like the idea of demo'ing to other demos!!

Thanks for all of the well wishes, my Dr's. appt. earlier this week provided me with antibiotics to help combat the crud that had managed to move into my ears. Now, I just need to get my allergies under control.

Anyhoo...I am so loving the fall colors surrounding us this time of year~ I watercolored this awesome wheel on shimmery white with a blend of summer sun, olive, ruby red, pumpkin, & mustard. I could color fall colored leaves or trees for days! The focal layer is mounted with dimensionals.
I ran the ruby red piece through the cuttle bug, and sponged choc chip ink over the raised image, distresses all the edges, and matted on a summer sun piece also sponged with choc chip.
The rust layer is stamped with the dry brush wheel in rust, pierced all the way around, and mounted with dimensionals.

Enjoy your fabulous fall colors before they go!!

Details: Leaves around jumbo wheel, dotted background, perennial favorites & dry brush jumbo wheel. Cocoa, Rust, Summer sun, Ruby red, Olive, and shimmery white. Cocoa, Choc chip, rust, ruby red, pumpkin, summer sun, olive, mustard classic inks. timber brown stazon. Tab punch, dimensionals, ribbon, crafters tool kit, aquapainter, cuttlebug, & distressing tool. Pin It Now!

I can't stop myself!

I just *love* Halloween cards!! This one is for my class tomorrow~ they are all beginning stampers, and always appreciate an easily reproduced card.

The batty for you set is so much fun to work with!! I inked up Frank in old olive (on shimmery white of course) and layered him onto black, then and old olive scallop. The Creepy Crawly paper is also matted onto old olive. Pumpkin ribbon tied around, and pop the scallop on with dimensionals~ easy peasy!!

Shannan~ what do you think about the white space?? It's probably haunting you isn't it... ;)

Well~ I am off to pretend like I was productive today...wish me luck!

What a gorgeous week of weather!

We skipped out on Karate yesterday and headed down to the pumpkin patch! It's such fabulous weather this week~ I actually wore capris and sandals to walk Will to school this morning!! It's the end of October people, and I am wearing capris!
Such a change from last weeks weather of thunder/lightning storms, high wind warnings in effect, be prepared for power outages!! We have had some unpredictable weather this year.

Blogger doesn't like my photos from my new camera~ too many pixels I think. I have too chop them way down to fit. But here are a few of the kids enjoying the day. Never fails in any picture with kids....Someone is bound to have their eyes closed, be looking the wrong way, or move too fast and you miss the shot completely!
I apparently do not serve acorn squash very often in our home (more like *never*) my son thought it was a green pumpkin. Ok, I will work on that!! We eat a ton of vegetables, my daughter is almost a vegan~ she asks for peas and carrots for dinner EVERY night. Squash though, I do not care for. Not sure how I can sell it to the kids when I don't eat it....

I am busy working on prepping for a class I have Thursday, and a booth I am doing for my uplines quarterly meeting on Saturday, and swaps for the meeting. A tad nervous about the demo part, but it should be fun still!
Have a super week~ I have lots of new stuff to share when I find a free minute! Pin It Now!
