Happy Saturday!!

This weekend will be a busy one. We finally have some super weather planned and many events to keep us busy! We are off to story time at Barnes & Noble, I heard something about a bike ride after, and tonight is my sons Cub Scout rank ceremony!! He is pretty excited!! He gets his Tiger Cub Badge, and moves into the "Wolf Den"!!

Tomorrow looks to be just as busy! We have Karate graduation ceremony, Will has earned his Yellow Belt! Again, an exciting day for him! We will probably end up with some family over for dinner afterwards.

Which leaves me with cleaning, cooking for the graduation potluck, cooking for family dinner, and probably no time to stamp!! ;) Well, there's always Monday!

Weekend Sketch

So, I have not been feeling so super this week, a little dizzy for the last 3 days, I am just taken it easy today.
I did this sketch for Beate's weekend sketch, I am just a few days behind!

I was just reading a thread about being a 'stampy' stamper, a 'scrappy' stamper, or a 'hybrid' stamper....Not sure if I see the difference in the three.

I like all styles of stamping, but I find that in our busy world, if we are constantly feeling the need to take an hour plus on a layout, that we will start to do less, as in produce less. I am really trying to focus on cards that are great, but, not an hour long process. So if that means I use some of these 8,000 lbs of patterned paper I have *somehow* acquired to "make" the card, or a store purchased embellishment, and I am happy with the results, then I will continue to do so! Why should our projects take so long to produce? The very *few* customers I have simply do not have time for the long process of it all, nor will they ever lean that direction!

Anyhoo....enough blabber~ Just some random thoughts I thought I could bore ya with ;)

If you get a chance, can you head over to Shannan's blog and post some words of encouragement please!!

Another Bingo Sketch

Here's another card for Julee's Blogger Bingo Sketch~
I just love this little pig from Inky Antics, and hardly use him enough! And what's a fabulous pink pig without a little bling??

She is stamped on naturals white, (works well for light watercoloring) with Palette Noir (thanks Shannan!!!) Colored in with PIP, and popped up on dimensionals.

I have a class tonight, so I should be preparing for that, instead I am stamping for fun!! I am a *little* behind on SS stuff, RAK's TY's, and Lord knows what else!!

Julee's Sketch

I love that so many people have sketches they post~ I can hardly keep up! Julee Tilman posted one for her blogger bingo, (which I missed out on) but I played anyways!!

I have been super busy this week with end of the year school stuff, Karate, and end of the year Cub Scouts stuff!! My dh has been off all week working on house stuff, so I have been limited in my stamping time! I managed to get this done this morning and am happy with it!!

My First Blogger RAK!!!

Is from Lisa Silver, silvergirl on SCS, she was my lil sis on DDSS a few rounds back.
This card is so detailed and wonderful!! The cup and steam are cut out and mounted with dimensionals, as are the coffee beans & marshmallows that are covered with liquid appliqué. Beautiful colors together!! CUTE CUTE card!!!

And if you haven't checked her blog out, click on her name and head on over! The girl is super!! Check out her tutorial on Micron Pens. I am off to buy some thanks to her!!
Thanks Lisa~ Your card rocks!!! Pin It Now!

More Bees!

I *so* love these bees that Shannan sent me!!
I had a few scraps of paper left from a page I did a while back, so I thought I should use them up~

Well, it's field day for my son at school today, so the one day you want it to be nice out, it's not!! A little rain won't kill me I suppose~

Cards & Dust

Well, here's a few cards I did the other day for the tech lover's challenge- quick cards, or warm ups. I love a card that pulls itself together quickly!!

Also, can I share what I woke up to this morning?? My stove is in the living room, the fridge is in the family room along with our dining table!! I *guess* my husband wasn't kidding when he said he had some projects to work on!!
He's refinishing our hardwoods, and our kitchen will be out of commission for a few days~

The kids thing this is super, we *never* watch tv while we eat! Not quite sure what we will eat for the next couple of days either, can't cook in the living room!! Too bad! ;)

If you don't hear from me in a few days....send help!

Happy Father's Day!!!

We took the kids up to Snoqualmie Falls today~ a bit of a grey skies kinda day, but not too bad!!

The falls are just gorgeous any time of year! My dad and mom came along as well, and we hiked down to the bottom as well. (see first picture) The hike down is so woodsy and the trees are just fabulous to look at!! This is the kind of woods where it is raining, and you don't get wet~ The kids were in awe! This is the two of them hiking down with my dh.

The second picture shows us all at the top where we got soaked just from the spray of the falls!

Well, my husband took the week off and has a lot of projects planned for "us". I am thinking this means no time to stamp.... I may have to find something to keep him busy so I can play a few times! ;)

Have a super Father's Day!! Pin It Now!

Beate's Sketch Challenge

My plan was to clean today. Or maybe I should say catch up on cleaning. Then I played the limited supplies challenge, and one thing led to another. Still haven't cleaned!

I *need* a card for my anniversary and would prefer not to have to work on it while my husband is home!
So I checked out Beate's weekend sketch challenge (again, avoiding housework!!) and decided to use it for my anniversary card!

I have never made a circle card, and they are fun!! I am happy with the way it turned out! My husband should like it!!

Details- Flourishes by Rhonna Farrer, Sentiment by Michael's $1 stamps, CS- Grey, Black, WW, & Silver- SU! Ink- Palette Noir, Brads MM. Coluzzle for shape, paper piercing tool- SU! Pin It Now!

Race for the Cure

Tomorrow is the Susan G. Komen race for a cure~ A group of us are going to be walking the 5K walk.
Check out the link here.
We have our shirts and our numbers, now all we have to do is get up at the crack of dawn to go!!!

I have been blessed with my health, and my family's as well, and I am not about to take it for granted! Do your part! Pin It Now!

Stars and Stripes Birthday!

Wow!! I have done quite a few challenges this week! I will tell you though....My laundry is piling up, and dinner has been less than desirable, we've been slacking on our chores big time!! My husband is training ALL week which makes for a LONG day for me!!! I *need* my outlet!

Today's challenge Limited Supplies, is to use patriotic colors and any images, but it can't be a patriotic card. Make a different themed card like Thinking of You, Get Well, Birthday, etc.
So, while I still need a Father's Day card, (or two!!!) and an anniversary card, I went ahead and made Will's bday card!! His birthday is next month!! Since he is a July baby, he thinks his birthday revolves around the 4th, and all things red, white, and blue!! Who am I to let him think any less?

Details: It's your birthday- SU!, CS- WW, Red, Blue- SU! Patterened Paper- DCWV. Real Red Classic ink- SU! Brads, Ribbons- SU! Coluzzle for the circle. Pin It Now!

Flourishes Version 2!

Another card for the ways to use it challenge~
I loved how the first one I did turned out, so I tried a different color and used a sentiment~
I think the main image may be a tad too large, but it will work!
The super fab sentiment is from Shannan, it was in my reveal package!!
Sorry about the flash on my window sheet, those are tricky to photograph! Pin It Now!

Ways to use it challenge...

Here is my ways to use it card~ Flourishes!!
I love my flourishes, and find myself *trying* not to uses them on everything!! I will look back in ten years and wonder why every page in my album is covered with them!!

Today's challenge (WT117) was easy since I have them out already! I stamped the doodle this flower with stazon on clear window sheets and then flipped it over and colored in with crystal effects and reinkers. Before it dries, sprinkle a teence (very technical term) of dazzling diamonds glitter on it.

Have a super day! :)

Have you ever been so excited about something...

That you cannot let go of it? My daughter was so excited to get a box of ice cream cones that she fell asleep holding it!! My husband took this picture of her after she finally passed out!! She cracks me up some days!
Have a super night, hopefully I can make something tomorrow!! Pin It Now!

MME Page...

I have this super paper from MME and have been itching to use it. I made this page for my daughter out of the leftovers from making two cards.

When I look at the design, I saw big pieces, a little paisley, and the flower from office accoutrement. I got my new scallop punch from papertrey yesterday, and it worked perfectly with the big piece accent in the bottom right corner. The top left piece has a clear button over it, i love those little finishing pieces!! They can work with any sort of project since they are clear!

Have a super day~ I am off the get a haircut, and maybe find time to squeeze in the sketch challenge!! Pin It Now!

Yea for small cards!

After a few days of no stamping, I was looking forward to the CC today on SCS!! I got to use my new stuff from Shannan, and I love my bees!! They are so cute!

The sun is shining here, and I have many errands I am avoiding, including cleaning, laundry, groceries, etc. Maybe I will do another page today instead~ ;)

Home from the Ocean....

I went for the weekend with my mom and sister, can you say NO KIDS!

I think the beach brings out the child in all of us....we ran around like a bunch of 6 year olds! We managed to get my dad's truck stuck in the sand, and that was a fun event!
Here is my best strike a pose picture!
I think this is my I am free from kids for the weekend pose actually!! ;)
My sister was really cold....she wore flip flops~ and it rained all day!

The second picture is of all of us at a restaurant that sits on a bluff over the ocean....you can't really see it with the flash in the window, great view though!!!

Something about the beach is so calming....even in the poor weather! I love seagulls....I am native to this area, so I am used the them!!
This was taken Saturday morning in between rain drops!

We had a great time, and I plan on going again to the Oregon coast in 2 weeks! Another kid free break!

Well, I am home today with a sick child, so maybe I will get another scrap page done....with SCS being on the wonky side, I think I may actually be productive! Pin It Now!

Another Page done!

I am so proud of myself! Two in two days!! Maybe by the year 2015 I may be done with catching up!!

I just love this picture of my son Will. It was taken last year in March after he lost his 2nd upper front tooth. He was so happy, and excited!! Looking at this picture just makes me smile from ear to ear to see him so happy!

I used the SAB SS kit- Just delightful, and am trying to minimalize my pages so they get done!
The green dotted layer is from the POP.

I have a few hundred things to to today, and stamp/scrap doesn't seem to fit in to the schedule!!

I am leaving for the ocean with my mom and sister for the weekend (YEA!!) and although the forecast isn't promising, it will be a good time!

Have a super weekend, by now people will be getting there new stuff from SU! I am sure I will miss all the great new uploads!!! Pin It Now!

OMG I have the best SS Evah!!!

This just arrived in my mailbox today~ All I can say is wow!! Shannan Teubner, (steubner at SCS ) has got some serious talent!!!

This altered box is covered in Basic Grey's Lily Kate papers and was full of all of these oh-so--freakin' awesome goodies!!!

And it came at he best time! I can honestly say, I have had a bad week!!! WHat a huge happy smile it put on my face!!

Wait there's more!!! Pin It Now!

yea for me!

I really need to get my butt in gear when it comes to scrapping~

This is the new 'in color' pomegranite. I just started 8 1/2 X 11, (first page this size)
and *love* it!!!

I have recently fallen in love with black and white photos....not sure why. This is my 3 year old (who clearly is old enough to read) pretending to read!! She is learning from her big brother!

I don't like the muddied down pages...I'm simplistic in my own style usually. I want it to be about the pictures.

Another comparison

Here is Cranberry (in color 06/07) far left, Burgundy second, Pomegranite (in color 08) middle, and then pixie (which actually looks washed out here) and then Regal (which also looks a bit washed out)

Here is POP celery on far left, then Wasabi, then Garden Green, then Celery. Pin It Now!

Wasabi Vs. Celery

Here is a quick color comparison for you~ POP Celery far left, Celery CS middle, and Wasabi on the right.

I happen to think the wasabi leans more towards garden green myself... maybe I will try that next. Pin It Now!

Sketch Challenge take two

Here is another try at the sketch challenge for yesterday.
I love how the contrast of black and white can make a card. Here I used a fluorish stamp by Rhonna Farrer for the main panel and the sentiment came from Papertrey's Faux Ribbon set. I haven't had much luck with using the actual faux ribbons in that set, but the sentiments are fabulous!!

The card is on a white base, and the black piece has been run through my cuttlebug and layered on to the WW. I used absolutely no dimensionals on this card~ (gasp!) A first for me! I need to get back in the habit of making flat cards so Uncle Sam doesn't charge me an arm and a leg to mail them!

I get to get away for the weekend~ my Sister's birthday is coming up, and were making a girls weekend of it!! Maybe we will go to the ocean...We are kinda winging it! No set plans, or reservations! Pin It Now!

All New Stuff

Well, this card is an extremely quick and easy card. I just wanted to try out my new colors and stamp set! Now I am thinking I should have got more of the new colors!!!

It does take the sting out of waiting for the new catty though! I love how easy these leaves are to cut out, and that you can use them either direction- pointed end in our out.

Here is a quick and easy card for today's sketch challenge over at SCS. This also works for my personal challenge if using up my all my patterned papers I have laying around!!

Pretty basic stuff here....stamped image in versafine, colored in with aqua painter. Sentiment is also stamped in versafine on the vellum.

I want to make a few more since this sketch is so versatile....but I have too many errands to run today!!

Maybe later I can play again!

CC117 in Big Blooms!

This color challenge was a bit harder than I thought!! I am not a fan of ruby with the other two, so I am still on the fence about it!!

Many, MANY dimensionals were used and abused in the card!! The celery and eggplant main panels are popped up, all flowers (ruby ones were doubled up!!) and the sentiment were all popped up with dimensionals!!

The wonderful USPS will love being able to add *more* than the required postage due to "added thickness"!!!

Your welcome Uncle SAM!!

Details: Big Blooms, Happy Everything, SU! CS- Eggplant, Celery, WW, & POP, SU! Inks- Celery, Eggplant, Ruby, SU! All others courtesy SU! as well! Pin It Now!

Thought I would share this with you. This little beauty landed on branch in our yard today....Look how gorgeous it is! My daughter was trying to walk slow not to scare it away... Pin It Now!

Beate's Sketch Challenge #4

This card has a little bit of "loud" to it!! I made this for Beate's sketch, which I found to be super! I love an easy layout! I am a less is more kinda gal most days!!

What do ya think? Too bright? I do not have the larger scalloped circle punch, so I just layered a small sliver of the same size behind it. Pixie panel and ellie are both popped up with dimensionals.

Thanks Beate, looking forward to the next one!!

Details: Wild about you in pixie pink, patterned paper from DCWV summer mat pack, brads from MM, and primas. Scallop border on green courtesy of SU corner rounder. Pin It Now!

Another RAK....

This adorable card came from dolphenecho on SCS. She is my DSS coordinator and posted challenges to inspire the group to mail out cards in a timely fashion. All those who completed the challenge was sent a hand stamped card from her! Here it is!! It seems that Papertrey stamps have made there way into most everyone's stamp rooms!!!

Thanks Stacy!! It's very cute! Happy mail is always nicer than bills btw!

I also did a card for Beate's sketch she posted a few days back...I will have to go find it now!! Pin It Now!

Close up of set....

Here is a close up of one of the note cards...I put a little bit different ribbon on each one, and changed the sentiments. This is the epitome of a warm up card!!

Have a super week!! Pin It Now!

My adventure in Acrylics!!

What a LONG weekend~ It was gorgeous here all weekend, and we were on the go!! Carnivals, street fairs, BBQ's, Babseball games....I can actually say Yea for Monday for once!

Papertrey- These stamps were my first acrylic purchase, and I was leary. I am a die hard wood mounted rubber kinda gal, and I was afraid I was seriously going to be disapointed if they didn't work.

That being said, I LOVE them!! They are super! And Nicole just has a way with her clean designs. So, then I bought another set, and another, and then the Rhonna Farrer flourishes, and so on (you get the idea.)

I whipped out a set of note cards in no time flat- I don't really care for the patterned paper alone, but it works with the flourish!
I am still learning this stuff, and I haven't figured out to upload pics the way I like!! One more to follow!!! Pin It Now!

June 2, 2007

From Michelle Van Patten, mybearybest on SCS.
She had sent me a pm about Papertrey stamps with a few questions about the acrylics and using them. So she finally broke down and ordered some and sent me her first card made with them.

Isn't this card just adorable? She is quite a talented stamper, check out her gallery.
Thanks Michelle!!! Pin It Now!

Is she not the cutest thing ever??

I tell ya, my daughter is just *so* darned cute!! (Yes, I am a tad biased)
How do you say no to this face??
And she knows it, she can work her daddy over big time!

I have some cards to post, but while I was taking a few pics of them, she came in and I snuck this photo of her!!
Have a super weekend! Pin It Now!
