Office Accoutrement

I really love this set and don't use it enough. It's so versatile, it can be for scrapping or card making.
Here is another Style Watch swap~ I am loving wasabi, and choc chip. I find myself reaching for choc chip more and more. I need to branch out and use some other colors!

I am hoping to get some 'fun' stamping in soon, and maybe even try a few challenges today! Yesterday's challenges looked super, I will still give them a go, even if it's later in the week when I get to it.

I also need to make Thank You cards for my son's birthday, and am going to make a pile of cards to send off to KeikiCards. I have directed my friend to their site to sign him up for receiving cards while going through his treatment.

Another swap done!

I am so glad to have of three of my four swaps done! I can get this last one done in no time, I have a nice layout planned in my head, which doesn't really mean anything!! I wanted to add in the guava with this card, it's just such a pretty color!!
I am really leaning towards a cleaner simpler style these days, and when I can achieve the look I like, and the card takes no time at all, I'm a happy camper! Designer Series Papers *really* help here in pulling it all together.


It's official, he's 8!! This was taken at his party on Saturday, at Laser Quest. They had a ton of fun, and only stayed up until about 12:30 a.m. Good thing birthdays are only once a year...

Well~ today's the day over at Splitcoast for some DD challenges, and wouldn't you know, I have *things* I need to do here!! I am going to try and squeak in some stamping time at some point though! Pin It Now!

May I introduce Gary!

This is my friends son Gary. He was diagnosed about a month ago with Ewings Sarcoma. Not much else really hits you like hearing about a young child facing the battle he is facing. I have started a thread on SCS- and I try to update it there when I here something, and keep it going, for all to see.

This picture of him was taken last week at the one day he was able to attend VBS before going back in for his second treatment of Chemo. Later this day, or the next he had to shave his hair, (if you can tell how short it is, he wasn't phased by it) due to the drugs already taking their toll.
He has already had a feeing tube placed to help with maintaining his weight, something which had become a problem immediately. As you can see, he is happy, and *seems* to be unaffected by all that he is battling.
This is one of those situations that you cannot prepare for, plan for, or try to prevent. When we all found out of his diagnosis, it hit hard. It makes all the little things significantly little, It's all small stuff~ Live your life, love your kids, and make the most of it.

At this point in time, his bone scan is clean, his marrow is clean, and his heart, lungs, and all other organs *seem* to be unaffected. He has a localized tumor the size of a softball attached to his 5th rib. They will be treating him with chemo, surgery, and possibly radiation. They think they have caught it early. **Fingers Crossed!**

I will post updates when I get them from time to time, and will hopefully manage to keep some sort of RAK's flowing to their home. They have already expressed an amazing amount of appreciation for those they have already received. Pin It Now!

OMG!!!

So, (insert embarrassed face here) I made a card a while back with a fabulous stamp I received from Shannan, and mailed it off with a bunch of the images stamped inside. Well, after about a week plus, the card was back in my mailbox. Not enough postage. Ugh.
So, as I am going along in my normal daily busy life stuff, I set it aside to 'add' more postage to it and mail again to her. Well, it's still downstairs, in my pile of "to do"!

In the mean time, in my mail box yesterday was this beauty, and ALL of those fabulous images waiting to be used!!
There's some Rubber Romance gals and some Bellas, enough to last me a long while!

So, maybe, I can get her card mailed back soon and work on using these fab images.

I was hoping to get a color challenge done today, but again, my day proves to be busier than I planned for! I will be back later to post some happy news about my friends son who has Ewings Sarcoma, and some happy pictures of him. Have a great one! Pin It Now!

Whew....

I have two more of my style watch swaps to finish up, and they are due Friday! I work best under pressure! ;)

I had this idea in my head, and although I'm not absolutely in love with it, I am happy with it!!

This is for the corner office collection~ What I found with this swap was that when forced to use the collection- (colors, sets, embellies) I felt a bit restricted, unable to work like I normally would.

I have one more corner office, and one more tapestry group and then they are off to Teresa!

Today is my sons 8th birthday!! He is such a happy kid, I feel so lucky to have the kids I do, and to be able to be at home with them (although, don't get me wrong, I have my days I wished I worked out of the home!!) We have celebrated ALL weekend, so I am thinking a low key dinner and some sort of out of control dessert for the big 8 year old, and well officially call this years birthday celebration to an end!

On a side note, I managed to survive my son's sleepover.....However, I have decided I don't *ever* want to be a mom of 9 boys!! OMG! Wow, the energy they all have~ and they just feed off each other like Gremlins! And my 3 year old daughter, managed to keep up with them until about 10 and passed out on one of them watching a movie. She was exceptionally tart last night! They all had fun, glad birthdays are only once a year ;)
I have nothing left in me today!! We are heading out to a pizza dinner with my dad tonight so I don't have to cook!

Maybe sometime this week I will regain some energy and post some of my projects!

Busy week for us!!

This is my 3 year old daughter~ THREE!!!! (insert shocked face here!!!)
Her friend turned 5, and wanted a Hannah Montana (spelling???) Birthday at LibbyLu~ So, here is my 3 year old having her hair and make up done!!!

Her hair is as long as the wig, and she wasn't all that fond of the scratchy wig, so that was shed immediately upon departure of the store!

Well, we wound our week of VBS up today, and my sons Cub Scouts camp is having it's closing ceremonies tonight as well, so our exceptionally busy week is close to an end!!!

And on that note, I will be busy entertaining my son and 8 of his friends tomorrow night for his 8th birthday!! Laser Tag, and then a big sleepover! The weather here is usually at its hottest this time of year, and we are having some really poor weather this week- So it is a game of indoor flashlight tag in the dark, a pillow fight, and maybe movie and popcorn.

Another busy day for me....Off to Cub Scouts Space Camp with my son!! He got to shoot a bow and arrow yesterday, made a space shuttle, did a skit, and learned how to fold a flag!! Today's big event is BB Gun shooting! A subject we are all too familiar with! ;)

I love this set!

The new level 2 hostess set is so versatile~ I think it will be well used in my home! I just love how soft and pretty you can make the flowers look.

Here the lace type flowers are stamped in artichoke on river rock, and dotted with white signo pen. I stamped Tres Chic in artichoke on the river rock base, added some piercing, popped my image up on dimensionals, tied my ribbon around my hardware, and done!

We are off to a birthday party, then a wedding reception, and hopefully nothing after that for the day!

Another card with new stuff

So, here's another one for the blogger bingo sketch. I am not sure if I like how I attached the ribbon, what do you think?

This uses the new set Garden Whimsy, and new colors Wasabi, Pomegranite & and River Rock. The Basic Grey paper is perhaps, and it seems to have these colors in it!

The butterfly is covered in stickles, and nothing like 90+ degree weather to make your stickles free flowing!! :0

Julee's Blogger Bingo Sketch

Well, I had huge plans to stamp the day away~ someone forgot to tell my kids!

Here is what I did manage to get done this evening once it finally cooled off.

The layout is from Julee's sketch found here. The colors are Guava, River Rock, Artichoke, Olive, and WW. The card base is using River Rock. I stamped the Tres Chic background in Artichoke on the Old Olive, and attached two Artichoke small oval punches to the top. The flowers are from the level 2 set Garden Silhouettes, and the Joy, stamped in Guava, is from the new set Illuminations.

I think I may need to shop for a few more of the Marvy punches.....You can never have enough! ;)

my oops card, and a game of tag

Okay, so I got a great swap card in the last swap I hosted which had a lady bug on it. And- here's my version.

However, my suggestion if you feel your Real Red needs some re-inking, remove your recently finished lady bug card to another work space. :0 The Real Red re-inker ended up spraying all over my desk, a little bit like the color spritzer should! The little splats of red in the upper right corner....not intentionally put!!!

Anyhow, I think it turned out great otherwise!!

1. I am not a morning person. The rule in my house is don't talk to mommy before her first cup of coffee.

2. I love to cook! I just don't like to clean up afterwards!

6. I do not wear makeup....I am too lazy to put it on! Although I do like Bobbi Brown lipstick!

New and old meet.

Well, in the middle of having no inspiration this last week, my garden silhouettes came. I thought I would give it a whirl and ink it up! My intent was to make the flowers cranberry and the stem a green color, but it occurred to me after the planning of the layout that I do not have a cranberry marker, and I am still waiting on new stuff, so I figured it's a good time to use up the old.

Oh well, I am still happy with the outcome, cranberry stems and all!

Today we are off to a wedding, then a birthday party. Have a super day!!

Well, I needed to post something, Shannan left me a comment about it being Thursday, not Saturday as my last post said! I have been busy this week with kids stuff!
(I am actually feeling a bit uninspired at the moment, long, rough week.)
