What a difference a year makes! The latter is my daughter last Halloween, and the top is this year, (she still fits this shirt!!) look at her hair! Wowsers. She will be four in ten days, and has never had her hair trimmed!

She has been very persistent in not wanting it cut, and I *finally* have her talked in a teeny weeny trim.

By the time she is really ready to let go of it, it will make some young girl very happy I hope!! It is so beautiful, but it also so much work. In the back it literally comes to her but.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!! Pin It Now!

Where have you been!?

Happy Tuesday!!
Well at least for me it is, I got to sleep in today, and again tomorrow! Student Led Conferences!! Woohoo! On the down side, I have both kids to entertain and referee!!!

I have been overly busy, it's the time of year ya know. Halloween parties, and classes, booths, daily routine stuff, blah, blah blah!!
So, when I have too much on my plate, my blog is the one that suffers~ Sorry! I don't want to burn out, so something has to give!! I have already given up housecleaning! :)

I wanted to share a few things that I received, the first one is a tin from my upline~ How cute is it!! It's full of candies! It's a 'Republic of Tea' brand tin if your curious, and I think it's adorable!!!

Second is one of the cards I have received from my Secret Sis this month! Love this also~ I need new Christmas sentiments, and I just *heart* the font on this one!

Also, I went to this allergist on Friday~ He gave me some new meds to try, and I will be starting shots here shortly. The new meds are already showing a huge improvement. Yea for me!

I am going to carve pumpkins with the kids today~ (more photo ops) make Halloween cookies, and *hopefully* clean my craft room. I cannot find my desk! I was going to take a picture, but I was far too embarrassed. DISASTER! I have so many ideas I want to try, and I can't!!!

Lastly Denise tagged me, so I will do that as well. Have a great day!! Pin It Now!

I am off and running...

Just a super quick post today~ I am going back for a follow up appointment with my allergist today, and then I have to finish making my display board for our big group meeting tomorrow. I am a *tad* nervous, I don't like the idea of demo'ing to other demos!!

Thanks for all of the well wishes, my Dr's. appt. earlier this week provided me with antibiotics to help combat the crud that had managed to move into my ears. Now, I just need to get my allergies under control.

Anyhoo...I am so loving the fall colors surrounding us this time of year~ I watercolored this awesome wheel on shimmery white with a blend of summer sun, olive, ruby red, pumpkin, & mustard. I could color fall colored leaves or trees for days! The focal layer is mounted with dimensionals.
I ran the ruby red piece through the cuttle bug, and sponged choc chip ink over the raised image, distresses all the edges, and matted on a summer sun piece also sponged with choc chip.
The rust layer is stamped with the dry brush wheel in rust, pierced all the way around, and mounted with dimensionals.

Enjoy your fabulous fall colors before they go!!

Details: Leaves around jumbo wheel, dotted background, perennial favorites & dry brush jumbo wheel. Cocoa, Rust, Summer sun, Ruby red, Olive, and shimmery white. Cocoa, Choc chip, rust, ruby red, pumpkin, summer sun, olive, mustard classic inks. timber brown stazon. Tab punch, dimensionals, ribbon, crafters tool kit, aquapainter, cuttlebug, & distressing tool. Pin It Now!

I can't stop myself!

I just *love* Halloween cards!! This one is for my class tomorrow~ they are all beginning stampers, and always appreciate an easily reproduced card.

The batty for you set is so much fun to work with!! I inked up Frank in old olive (on shimmery white of course) and layered him onto black, then and old olive scallop. The Creepy Crawly paper is also matted onto old olive. Pumpkin ribbon tied around, and pop the scallop on with dimensionals~ easy peasy!!

Shannan~ what do you think about the white space?? It's probably haunting you isn't it... ;)

Well~ I am off to pretend like I was productive today...wish me luck!

What a gorgeous week of weather!

We skipped out on Karate yesterday and headed down to the pumpkin patch! It's such fabulous weather this week~ I actually wore capris and sandals to walk Will to school this morning!! It's the end of October people, and I am wearing capris!
Such a change from last weeks weather of thunder/lightning storms, high wind warnings in effect, be prepared for power outages!! We have had some unpredictable weather this year.

Blogger doesn't like my photos from my new camera~ too many pixels I think. I have too chop them way down to fit. But here are a few of the kids enjoying the day. Never fails in any picture with kids....Someone is bound to have their eyes closed, be looking the wrong way, or move too fast and you miss the shot completely!
I apparently do not serve acorn squash very often in our home (more like *never*) my son thought it was a green pumpkin. Ok, I will work on that!! We eat a ton of vegetables, my daughter is almost a vegan~ she asks for peas and carrots for dinner EVERY night. Squash though, I do not care for. Not sure how I can sell it to the kids when I don't eat it....

I am busy working on prepping for a class I have Thursday, and a booth I am doing for my uplines quarterly meeting on Saturday, and swaps for the meeting. A tad nervous about the demo part, but it should be fun still!
Have a super week~ I have lots of new stuff to share when I find a free minute! Pin It Now!

Wish me luck...

I have no been sick for what I think equates to about 3 months of sickness this year. I am so done! I am going back to the Dr today in hopes of something to cure me!!

I also found out a few weeks back that I am allergic to dust mites. (I had a whole slew of allergy testing done) I figure, if I am allergic to dust mites, probably best if I don't clean. *wink* right? I mean, I wouldn't want some tragic sort of anaphylactic shock bringing the household to a screeching halt. My husband didn't find it all that amusing. ;)

Back in my days of hoarding, I acquired some of this fabulous Basic Grey (Fruitcake I think) paper. I just love it! I ran it through the cuttlebug which seems to be collecting dust as of late~ poor bug is a tad sad from lack of usage.
Here I stamped the tree from Lovely as a Tree in old olive on shimmery white, matted on choc chip and then filled in the stump brown with choc chip and my aquapainter.
The green piece is the back side of the fruitcake paper matted on Cranberry Crisp, and the hemp reminded me of the rope we used to tie our tree down with (back when everyone still bought fresh cut trees- prior to our save the earth days!!)

Both the green panel and the tree panel are popped up on dimensionals and it's off to the file to be mailed later!!

I have a few more pieces of this yummy paper left, off to see what I can whip up with it.
Have a super day!

Details: Lovely as a tree, short & sweet. Shimmery White, Choc Chip, cranberry crisp, & ruby red cs, Basic Grey Fruitcake series paper. Old Olive & choc chip classic ink. Paper piercing tool, vintage brads, cuttlebug, hemp, round tab punch, aquapainter & dimensionals.

Another one....

Saw this layout on SCS somewhere, and needing some samples for my next upcoming class I thought this was cute, quick, and perfect to showcase the paper promo that is coming up!

I just love using this paper up on everything!!

Here's to a happy Sunday~ Have a great week!!

I saw this some where before

This is a case of casing! I received a swap at Portland where I *was* positive that I had seen the card already, and am not sure where. However, I loved it, and did my own take on it~seen here.
At some point, it all meshes together all the cards we look at and view from others. I do love this color combo~ and this stamp set isn't used enough here in my house! I stamped the flower with celery on shimmery white, and then ran the 2 way glue pen over the flower "buds" and covered in glitter. I am trying to get a few samples together to have before my next upcoming classes.

We took off to Leavenworth today for Oktoberfest *with out* the kids. What fun! The weather turned out to be beautiful, and it was so much fun there.
I am going to upload my pictures and go to bed, still sick after almost two weeks. Really tired of it!

Hopefully tomorrow I can work on my cards for my upcoming classes.
Have a super weekend!

Limited Supply Challenge

I haven't participated in a challenge in a while, and today had my name written ALL over it!!
The LSC138 was minimal layers, one floral image, and an optional swirl, a sentiment, patterned paper, and ribbon. Optional tools were punches, paper piercing tool, sponged and cuttlebug.

I have never been one for the over done look, meaning tons of stuff and layers. I can do it, it's just not always my style. I don't really know a lot of people that have that much time to put into a card anyhow~ However, that's what makes us all different!

From a demo standpoint, the more I could sell the better, but I know that most customers don't have the time to put that much into a card, nor the money. However, it is nice every once in a while to go overboard. With that being said~ does it make this card any less attractive that it's a more minimalistic? I happen to be very happy with the outcome. :)

And, with that yummy choc chip wide grosgrain, how can it not be cute!

And were back.....

I am not sure what Blogger's deal was yesterday~ but finally I was able upload. And I got a comment about it from none other than JanTink.....I thought it was me, I hit a few other blogs, and they seem to be able to upload. But she said I wasn't alone and she made my day by stopping by!

So here is a card I did for Technique Lovers Challenge #137. Thought I would give myself a try at these. Kind of tricky, make sure you use Pallete Noir and not Versafine!! Versafine does not seem to dry!! And you *know* what a heat tool does to to acetate!

I have a few more Halloween cards to send out, and I thought I mix things up! I love Halloween, I need to move on though! Christmas will be here and over before I start some cards!

Okay0 we are expecting some wild and windy storm today, with a possibility of power outages, a little to early in my book for it~ but I will be getting all of my computer stuff done early, just in case!

Have a super day!!
Details: Booglie Eyes. Creepy Crawly, Pumpkin, & WW cs. Pallete Noir ink and pumpkin classic ink. Acetate, ribbon from JoAnns, Booglie eyes from JoAnns. Pin It Now!

Not sure is wrong with Blogger...

But I cannot for the life of me get it to let me upload a picture! I could just try and give you a lengthy description of what my card looks like...Or you can tune in tomorrow and hopefully it will be working by then!! I says there is a scheduled outage at 4 pm. Let's hope for it to work soon! Pin It Now!

More Swaps from Regionals...

So here are the last of my swaps from regionals this last weekend. There are so many great ones here, I can't wait to sit down and look at them some more.

I also received my HP hardware swaps and my pretties swaps from another swap I joined. These are an exceptional group of ladies with great attention to detail and the work is always top notch. I can back on *quality* stuff when we swap. Depending on my day, I will try and photo these as post them soon.
I also got some great stuff from my SS! Can't wait to share!

It looks to be a gorgeous start to the day here, and I am off to run some errands while I have an ounce of energy. I went to the dr. yesterday~ (I have been sick a record number of times this year, and tired of it!) and it's just some virus going around, and I have to tough it out. Not what I wanted to hear.

I am done boring you with my unhealthiness for the time being~ have super day, and check out all of these great swaps! Aren't they super! Pin It Now!

Swap, swaps, & more swaps!

So, the biggest part of Regionals is swapping!

Here are just a few that I received this weekend. I will share more tomorrow, Don't feel up to adding too much today, still fighting off some sort of bug!! Being sick is a pain!

I will have another set of pictures to share with you tomorrow!!

Have a great Monday!

Last swap card....SS hiatus

Or one of the many variations of it. I do bore quickly with the same thing!
So with this one I matted the Cutie Pie DS paper on black for that pop, but on a few others, I matted it on white, & changed the ribbon & brads to celery. The snowman is stamped with black stazon on shimmery white and watercolored with bashful & celery and mounted on dimensionals.

I had a lot of fun at regionals, Portland is so beautiful, and it was a gorgeous day! That being said, I am still feeling cruddy, fighting off some sort of bug and was not my enthusiastic self yesterday. Shelli even mentioned that Saturdays are usually the rowdier crowd, and we were mild in comparison to Friday! I came home to my youngest fighting off the same bug! Ugh~ not fun.

So, I have two classes coming up to prepare for, 3 more days this month of no school for kids, and another one of our groups big quarterly meetings to plan a booth for and swaps (again!) so Scrapbook Sunday is on a hiatus for a teence longer!

Details: Merry & Bright. CS: Bashful, Shimmery White, Black, & Celery. Black Stazon ink. Bashful & celery classic inks. Aquapainter, brads, punches, dimensionals, ribbon- All SU!

A few more swaps for Portland

I tend to bore with mass producing cards, so I end up mixing them up a bit. I went with a similar layout, added a layer of matting under the ds papers and I love how this little card turned out! This set short & sweet is so versatile.

I still can't decide which I like better, wide red grosgrain, or river rock ds grosgrain. I did a few on WW, and a few on naturals white.
These cards use the dashing ds papers, river rock for the snowflake, and real red for the sentiment which is popped up on each layer with dimensionals. Pretty basic stuff!

I am really looking forward to regionals today~ The weather in our area looks fabulous, so hopefully, nice there as well!

I will take lots of pictures!! Maybe I will be back tomorrow, maybe not! Have a great weekend!

Heading out for Portland...

I am sort of excited, sort of feeling cruddy! I have been fighting off a cold all week, and I think after spending two hours outside our local grocery store last night selling popcorn for Scouting, it hit me hard!!
The kids have no school today, and nothing like procrastinating and putting of swaps until the last minute! I will make a few, I am not going to over do it this time around~I have another one of our Big group meetings in 2 weeks, where I will be swapping again.
This is one of the swaps I am making. I bore quickly of mass producing anything, so I will have a few different designs to swap with.
Hope you have a super Friday~ Hopefully I will get to meet a few of you in Portland tomorrow!!
Off to rest so I feel better!!

I just love this tree...

Do you ever pull out a stamp set, and think to yourself- I just love this set, why don't I use it more often? (this would be me admitting I have more stamps than I can use, so you won't catch me saying it!!)
I do love this tree, and it does lend itself to great fall colors this time of year. I am supposed to be working on swaps today, but instead, I made a few of these, trying out different tree colors.

I may not get any swaps done at this point! I am having a hard time deciding what set to use. With the new catty around the corner, and this mini half way over~nothing is new and fun to use, and everything is subject to retirement! I am thinking too much in to it, I know!
Anyhow, I do need to mail out a birthday card, which will more than likely be late at this point! in the mail it goes today though!!

I sent the card I posted yesterday, and a few others in to SU! to try for one of their contests...I never try for those, and I think I will try a few more. Wish me luck, I would love to win- but not holding my breath first time trying out!!
*ETA: I was inspired by Angie Tieman's card showcasing this color combo*

I am always second guessing myself

I always start out with a layout in my head, what my end result should look like, and it never seems to match my actual end result!! I am not sure if I like the end result here or not...
Anyhow, I am sharing it with you.

I am going to work on my swaps for regionals today~ (hopefully) and maybe some other projects I keep coming up with in my head. I also have a few other household chores I need to get done.

I haven't been stamping so much this last week it seems, I guess I am going through the 'why do I bother' feeling at the moment. Hopefully swaps/regionals on Saturday will snap me out of it!

And, I don't usually "stage" my cards, but I thought I would give a try and see how I like it. What do you think?

Off to clean/cook/clean again/wash laundry/dry laundry/fold laundry/put away laundry/play with Lauren/cook some more/ and then maybe by then Will will be home from school so I can cook/clean some more! Oh, and being blogger challenged, I finally figured out how to move the pink thing to the side so it's not at the top now~
Have a super day!

Getting ready for the holidays...

So, I have been following this thread on SCS about crafts & recipes for the holidays. I made the caramel recipe someone provided. It turned out great btw, I will be making more!!

So, yesterday I had a family dinner to go to, and I took my sister in law a sampling of the caramels in this cute little 2-4-6-8 box. She said they were yummy!!

So here is the box I gave her, and the yummy caramels that were inside. I am still working out the kinks, like having them not stick to the wax paper. So far I have found that I need to spray it first.

The boxes are a lot of fun, and I just love how they make the recipient happy to receive them.

And, I don't have my page done. (big surprise!) But I have so many projects laying around on my work space, and 3-4 of them are different page layouts! I need to finish a few of them. I also need to get my swaps for regionals done. I am still trying to decide what I want to do with them.

I am also trying to work on an entry or two for SU!'s monthly contest. I have been trying out for a few design teams unsuccessfully, and thought maybe I would give SU!'s contest a try for a while instead. However the first attempt I finished, I look at it and think....not really the one.
So, maybe I will send it in, maybe not. Still deciding.

Have a super day, I am told we are housecleaning ALL day. Must be dirty!! Pin It Now!

My mini Altered book for my fab friend

So I just had to try Kristina's altered book, and once I had it down, I love it!! This one however was for a friend, and is since long gone, (she now has it) so I can share with you all~ I told her she has to fill it all in, and post pictures for us all to see!

It was a ton of fun to make, and I love all of the pockets and pull outs!! I am going to make a few more for Christmas gifts with the kids pictures plastered all over for the grand parents, they always love getting stuff like this!

This is the petals ds paper,
and I used all coordinating cs~pip & apricot.
and I did use some retired flirty ribbon with it, some wide olive grosgrain, the jumbo eyelets, old olive brads, apricot brads,

The first picture is the front, and the second two are the first inside fold, the last is the back inside fold. The front & back page has a apricot piece that pulls out~and the middle sections have two smaller pip pieces. It can obviously get a bit more dressed up, but that will be Shannan's job to do!! I know she will make it fabulous! Pin It Now!

No major fun stuff here...

I have been on a dead run this week. I finished up two sets of swaps, have to plan swaps fro next week~ (Portland baby!!) and two classes. It all comes up at once! Then pile on Karate, Cub Scouts, PTA stuff, cooking, cleaning, a 3 year old underfoot all day long, and well...you get the picture!

I am looking forward to Portland, going Saturday, wish I could go down Friday night with all of the cool kids, but that's the way the cookie crumbles I suppose! My husband works, and my upline who I usually go with has a class that night!

I am hoping to work on some projects this weekend, but I have a bog family dinner tomorrow which usually takes up a portion of the day!

I am thinking I should probably start my Scrap book Sunday page today, maybe it will be done my Monday~ *wink*

Have a super Friday night! We are off to Karate, then who knows what! Pin It Now!

Pretties swap

This will be quick and short, I am off to my allergist after a week of no allergy medications and being miserable! Yea, I am very happy to get it done!

This is my card for the pretties swap I joined. I haven't used this set much, so I wanted to give it some love! ;)

I am happy to say that I love this, and using the pearls was painless! No more hoarding! I stamped the medallion in blue bayou on ww, hand trimmed, punched out the scallop from Blue Bayou Textured cs, adhered both with dimensionals. The BB DS ribbon is wrapped around the sky piece only, and the BB matting under is textured cs.

Have a super day!

Working on Thank You's, & kids crack me up.

Kids say the craziest things. My daughter is a riot, she has these one liners that make no sense to anyone but her, and then she laughs hysterically! How can you not enjoy her jokes then!! Her latest:

Mom, I have a joke for you.

Oh yea, let's hear it.

A cat with no but!!!! HAHAH! BWHAHAAAAHH!!! HAA BWHAAAA!!!

Hilarious! her crazy laugh gets me every time!

So, I have a ton of thank yous to send out from my Birthday and here is one of the designs I came up with~

I inked the flower in coral and the markered over in old olive. This was easier than coloring the whole thing in with markers.
I then pierced the one corner, (it looked to like too much with anything more than that) and layered it onto the olive. I matted the linen prints onto cocoa and tied the chocolate taffeta around it.
For the sentiment, I inked the words up separately with a marker, I like them oriented this way.

It is a wet and yukky day here, and I am thinking a good stamping day inside is in order!! I have one day left until my allergy appt and I can start taking meds again!! Thank goodness for the rain while I am unable to!
Have a super one!!
ETA~ I tried to find a pink template for October's Breast Cancer Awareness, and this is as close as I could get without really screwing up everything!! It's an ok color, it will serve its purpose ;)

Pay it forward! And my Sunday page

So, I have been very busy this weekend, and I am sure as the holidays approach it will only get better!
Here is my scrapbook page, again a day late!
This is one of my busier pages, and again, I am not so sure of it~ It was actually done a while back for a swap. I have since given up doing scrap pages for swaps, I need to start with the pictures, adding them in later never works for me. Except this time!

This is my son this year, first day of second grade. He was so proud! And he is so handsome!

The set used is It's academic, and maybe that can tell you just when the page was made, it was current then. I just loved the notebook pages from the set and how they can be your journaling element, and here they are attached so they can move. The globe is covered with crystal effects, and the bus is popped up on dimensionals as are the alphadot letters.

Details: Stamps- It's Academic, Headline Alpha, It's a date, Alphadots, & Expressive Flex Phrases. CS-Kraft, YoYo Yellow, Real Red, Ballet Blue, WW. Inks- yellow, ballet blue, red, black. Accessories- Red gingham, tab punch, 1/2" circle punch, dimensionals, eyelets, crystal effects, black journaling marker, & red marker.

The next picture is of the set fast & fun notes, this set was given to all demos at Convention this year and I have had a post looking to trade for it since then! I did not like the set it replaced, however, I do like this one. So, where is this going you ask....

Well, julia_s pm'd me a while back asking if I had yet received it in a trade, and that she had a NUM one from Convention, and that she had a fabulously generous demo do something nice for her at Convention and was wanting to pay it forward to someone else! So, here it is in its new home!! How AWESOME is that?!?! Julia's only comment was that I please do the same. How could I not!!
I also have a NUM set that I have had on my trade list and someone contacted me over the last week interested in it, so I am going to send it on her way! Hopefully she will be able to use it and pass it along as well!

I have a TON of cards to catch up on, so look for some updated posts soon!!
Also swaps, I am heading to Portland on the 13th, I am thinking I should make a few swaps, and a few special cards for my SCS friends I will finally be able to meet!!! How fun!

Have a super Monday!! Pin It Now!
