ETA-still time to enter the blog candy give away from yesterday's post~ (late Saturday afternoon I will draw a name)
So here is Unity's first Thursday project! This is a fun little technique which I have been using for a long time, but I have no idea if it has a name~
Gather your stuff~ you will need a small tipped watercolor brush, diamond glaze, a reinker, acetate, stazon, and glitter if so desired.
So- stamp your line art image with black stazon onto the transparency, give a sec to dry, and flip over.
I was inspired by the colors in this paper, so I am going to paint her dress blue. I start with adding a teeny bit (I am using technical terms here, so keep up!!) of the diamond glaze.
Then add your re-inker color- NO more than a drop. (More than that makes it's *really* colorful, but runny.)
Mix the two and paint on the backside of your stamped image, by adding a drop and sort of pushing outwards the line.
So, I want her bow to be cocoa colored, so I rinse and dry out my container and do the whole thing over for the brown color. Since the area to be colored in so much smaller, make sure to add less both diamond glaze and re-inker.
Now, if you want glitter, ( and who doesn't want glitter? this dress is a calling for it!!) sprinkle a teeny bit over. A little goes a long way here. Set aside to dry for a bit. When completely dried, adhere to white piece of card stock and secure with brads.
For the remainder of my card, easy peasy. Swiss Dots cuttlebug for the patterned paper, matted onto cocoa cs and stitched around. (Did ya think that ribbon was there just for looks???) I am still getting to know my Janome Sew Mini! ;) There was a little incident which happens to covered by some very well placed ribbon!
The swirls at the top are the base of the dress stand, stamped in cocoa ink (Memento) Pop the stitched panel up on pop dots, and then pop the dress panel up on pop dots over.
Now lets see your try at acetate and diamond glaze~
