SNOW!! Seattle style....

Okay-So I do have to share this with the rest of you that don't live here in the Pacific Northwest. We get rain once in a while, (wink) but we don't usually get snow. And when we do, the city seems to stop for some odd reason. Can you see how much is here in this photo? I think it actually measured 1/2"- 3/4". We just happened to be out of school for an in service day~ my kids were giddy with joy!

Any-how, nothing much by any means of accumulation for you Midwesterners...go ahead-you know you want to laugh!



Thankfully- EVERYONE went back to school today~Can you believe they were fighting over TOOTHPASTE yesterday? Yep, my son didn't want to share *his* toothpaste with his little sister. Um, bored are ya?

So here is today's color challenge~ YoYo Yellow! Ack! What got into Emily today? EEEW. That's why it's a challenge I suppose~ So I did what I could with it. Images are courtesy A Chemistry With Paper, Ice Cream Party.

And WHAT are those *CRAZY* looking embellishments in the four corners of the ice cream image panel????! I think I almost forgot how to use an eyelet. I can't believe I had any.

My daughter has a concert today at her preschool and that is the focus of our day~ She has been talking about this for 2 weeks....she is excited to say the least. I have all camera batteries charged and ready to go!!!

A RAK for

It's a chillllly day here, they are threatening snow, and I am actually hoping it comes this time! We have a 3 day weekend from school, and that would keep the kids pretty darn happy!!

So, I am not the quickest at 3 in the am...

LONG night last night. L-O-N-G.
My son was up with his normal night terrors, my dh got home 4 hours late, set off the house alarm, woke up my daughter and I both, and when I *finally* got back to sleep around 2:30ish....

The *freakin'* air compressor thingy-majobber tool that my dh was using in my son's room (where BOTH kids are sleeping mind you) started up at 3 am. ALL by itself. Have you heard the noise those things make??

Freakishly LOUD! Especially at 3 in the am when you have already been woken up several times. So, what do I do? I try to turn it off, pull some thingy off and it starts making more noise. I am amazed that I am the *only* one who is up at the moment. I pace around, and with my less than rested head just stare at it. Where is the off button? (Never used this machine, can ya tell??) I gave up, and woke up Jeff.

Me:
How the *bleep* (it's not pretty this time of the morning!) do you turn this darn thing off???
Him:
Unplug it.

Me:
Doh! Why couldn't I think of that??? pretty darn simple if ya ask me!

Anyhoo....I am moving slow today, manage to stamp a color challenge...it's pretty self explanatory.

This one I did for USC, and actually had to let go of it so she could take it to CHA.
Every time I complete a page, I think to myself~ I need to scrap more!
This is a bit out of my normal scrapping style, but still fun to explore styles. And I must say, the kids are awfully cute. :) Have you seen such cute kids before??

The trees, dot border, and large snowflake image along the top are all USC stamps. Making Memories has those adorable snowflake shaped embellies~like primas. And they come with the bling brads for the middle. (Picked those up at Impress.)

Well... I can only hide from my kids for so long~ I have spent a leisurely morning surfing the www and drinking my coffee while my hubby was still home. Off to play mom now!! Pin It Now!

back to basics baby...

I have a PILE of ds paper sitting round here that needs to be used up or tossed or something! I can't bare to toss it out~ but am tired of storing. I am constantly challenging my self to use up new paper before I buy more, and after I saw the new occasions mini today and the new super ds papers, I best get crackin'!!! Lot's to use!

Here is a me card, using the eccentric images rubberstamps. The bee is Baby Beatrice, and is quite cute!! The sentiment is also from Eccentric Images. I am going to be helping them out with a few samples for their webstore.

Back to the basics~ I have always loved the clean look, and this card is no different than my usual less is more theory.
And~ this fits into Sharon's ssnotime17 challenge.

Can you believe I haven't yet made ONE Valentine!?! I better get crackin'! I was going to get a few done today, and then my husband decided to work on the window in my room. (which is over my desk- and totally in the way!)

I have missed all of the challenges this week, but I did manage to squeeze in Julee's mojo monday challenge, and next I am going to do Beate's inspirational one~ looked like a nice clean layout, right up my alley!! Hope I can get a few done next week!

We just got back from the park, (It's like 30 degrees here today), so I am thawing out before I have to get my son from school. I have been running about 6 different directions today, so I think I need a moment to sit for a few minutes and breath!

Here is a "dew drop" free card for you~ I have been playing with the dew drops so much I had to force myself to do a card with out them!! I would put them on every card if I could!

I did however, use some so *very* yummy brown may arts ribbon Shannan sent me a while back...I love that stuff!! It's another USC card, and the flower stamp seemed to work so well with the basic grey paper, so I planned the rest around that.

It's a cruddy day here~a storm is making things windy/rainy, and blah!! The rest of the week promises to be nice, so I think I will waste my day stamping!

Krystie's involved a detailed list that I don't think I could find enough answers that wouldn't cause you to nap while reading~ would hate for that to happen!! ;)

Here are some random things about me.....

~ I am allergic to everything...EV-ERY-THING!!! Dust, Mold, insect bites/stings, Trees, Grasses, Dogs, Cats, you name it, it makes me miserable. When I found out I was allergic to Dust, I calmly explained to my husband I would no longer be able to clean. :)

~I stamp standing up~ (saw this on Chat's list) I *know* there are more of us out there....I cannot sit down and stamp.

~I am self-diagnosed with OCD. I think my kids are currently helping with my therapy by leaving their CRAP everywhere in the house.

~I LOVE coffee. The stronger the better. My dad thinks it's motor oil I am drinking. I actually drink it for the great taste. Although living in the Seattle area, I cannot stand mocha's. Too sweet for me.

~I have officially quit drinking soda....I used to be addicted to Coke. (The soft drink) and was drinking about 3 a day. (this was after my pot-o-coffee of course!)

~I cannot eat food from a box. Or a drive through....(I know I am weird) I have to cook from scratch at home. I am pretty sure I am freak, and am most comfortable with it now~ but processed foods are no longer welcome on my kitchen.

~I am a spelling fanatic. I can't tolerate misspelled words. Thank goodness for spell check.

~I has Shannan's name spelled incorrectly for God knows how long and she never commented.
She was my big sis too, it's not like I don't know how to spell it!
Don't bother checking, it's already fixed.

~I don't color my hair or wear much makeup....(my allergic skin can't tolerate it anyways) This will be changed this week however....too many grays poking out~ I will get it foiled for the first time in YEARS. I have natural red in my hair, so this is the route I am going to try...wish me luck.

Oh~ the RAK...is from Becky! I love the colors, and I am so wanting to order those darn nestabilities now!!! Here is another random fact...I am cheap. :) My husband has trained me well!!! She sent it as a congrats for being picked my Angela for the USC Team. Isn't that sweet of her!

Love this dress!!

How cute is this??? I just love this little dress~
It is part of a set from The Unity Stamp Co.
I stamped it in versafine black onto shimmery white, and then onto Basic Grey's two scoops collection, cute out and mounted with a dimensional onto the shimmery white.

The pink ribbon is stamped with versamagic chalk ink, and it's so soft!!

It looks like my brad is crooked top right, must be my angle on the photo~

I didn't want to muddle this up with layers, so I tried to keep it clean and simple~

Roberta Plant SC

Another short post~I got some dew drops last week from Ellen's store and just couldn't wait to give them a try~
Now I am looking for cards to put them on! They are *SO* fun!!

Here is another Eccentric Images card, the Roberta plant. It's colored in with coral, saffron, celery, sage, and then with the sakura glaze pen.
It is based loosely on SC157~ (The main panel is a bit larger than the original.)

Another ACWP

So a quick post and I am off to the store for food!!
We got a teeny dusting of snow last night, and the kids are all going crazy this morning~

Here is another with the Wild West set from ACWP~

I am having fun with this set! The boots are colored in with ruby and caramel, and then with the sakura glaze pen for the shiny boot look.
I missed out on getting the outlaw ds paper, so I made my own~ I used the big scallop circle from in the spotlight, and the smaller circle from a beautiful thing, and the itty bitty backgrounds. I am happy with it!!
The frayed ribbon reminds me a of a horses tail.....I'll stop there with that thought process!!

I am not sure if you pay attention to my sidebar, but I added a few links there the other day~ Sharon at A Chemistry With Paper has graciously let me join her Design Team! I received some stamps from her the other day and found a few minutes to play today!! These acrylics are just like any other super brand I have played with.

So here is my first official ACWP card~ it is using the Wild West set. I chose these colors because badges are always silver it seems....so I pulled out my long neglected silver encore ink and played away!
The background is hand stamped with the star shown in the photo....no samj needed here!!
(I just figured out how to make that thing work too!!!)

We are off to the beach to feed some seagulls while the sun is still shining here, the weatherman keeps using the "S" word....thank goodness he is so wrong all the time!!!

Another challenge card done!

The Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS- was all about not using white or vanilla on your card.

This image is from Eccentric Images Rubber Stamps and is called Neil. Neil is going to be making some very cool boy cards!!
Eccentric Images has just that~ different stuff, and I think she said they will be having some new releases here shortly...check them out.

So I stamped him in black versafine on river rock, and popped him up on dimensionals. The wide panel is wide black grosgrain over textured river rock. I used my small SU! star punch and glued most of them directly on for depth, and then just popped a couple up with dimensionals. I colored Neil's bug eyes in with the White Gel pen by Signo. I think the inside of this card should read~ You're out of this world!!! In the mail it goes to my son~ he loves getting mail, and I usually don't tell him who it's from....it's a thing we do!

Well~ we are forecasted for a bit of snow over the next couple of days here in the Puget sound area~ more than likely won't happen~ but you never know! So we are working on getting the last of our windows done before the weather changes completely! I was hoping to be able to stamp today~ not in the forecast!! maybe tomorrow!!

Got to do a challenge!

So, I was blurfing the other day and came across Sharon Johnson's blog~ and saw this fabulous card. I had dies this size, but was never able to get them to work. Very disappointing.

So, after reading Sharon's question and answers I gave it another go~
So, I successfully was able to use the smaller dies, and was trying figure out what I wanted to do~
then I saw the ways to use it challenge~ wow, do I ever have some primas!! You didn't have to use primas, but I *need* to use some up!!

So, here it is....I am happy with it~ I will need to make more thanks you's, this is a good start!!
I am still working on putting my craft room back together, and hopefully I will have new stamps to share with you next time!

Are you sick of birdies yet???

Happy New Year!!!

We whooped it up last night at home with my parents over, had fondue dinner, choc fondue for dessert, and played Guitar Hero/Rock band!

I am in the middle of rearranging my stamp room. My husband put a new window in last week, which meant I had to tear A LOT of it apart. On the upside, I can see the top of my desk again!! (It's kind of a black granite color btw, It will be buried soon enough and I will forget!!)

So, prior to my big upheaval I managed to get this done~ Yep, another birdie card. I am loving this bird!

The bird, is stamped in black stazon, and watercolored in with regal rose. Her party hat (yes, it's a her) is colored in with olive and regal, then dotted with glitter. The flourishes and polka dots are from the sweet shapes set. I stamped the flourish in olive and also lined in glitter.

It's my sons last day on his Christmas break, and we are moving a tad slow~ we may catch a movie today, or just hang out at home and play.
