Whew! busy, busy, busy!!

Sorry so neglectful these last few days....I have been busy!!
The kids are on spring break and we will be running around!

Here's a few pics from the shoe box swap at Sarah's house over the weekend.

So first I need to give a huge Thank You to Teresa Shaw for this oh so fabulous card she sent me~

We used to be so much better with sending RAK's out!!

And then...for those of you who live in the PNW, you know just how odd this is!! This is snow!
(Told you it was really little Angela!!!) These pictures were taken when it first started, there was a total accumulation of *maybe* 1/2" here!

It snowed for 3 hours and my son had rainy day recess because of it!

I hear the outer lying areas got upwards of 6 inches...not sure how accurate that is.

And, I haven't fallen off the earth here~ just busy cleaning/organizing/rearranging and getting ready for my shoe box swap tomorrow.

color challenge 159 and the candyburglar

I just love these colors together! What a great combo!! I went with a clean and simple design, and I just love the outcome!
I stamped the branch in basic grey, and then again in sky and cut the leaves out and glued them onto the circle.

Below....this is the result of leaving my daughter alone while cleaning my office yesterday~I did manage to find the stamp set I had misplaced, and I still have a lot of organizing to do, but I have a great start. I will work some more after I pick up the candy burglar from preschool this afternoon. Sheesh.

I can't leave her alone for a minute with her Easter basket. I found it hidden in a fort they had built under some blankets in the tv room.

Not for the weak

It's not actually *that* bad I guess...However, I did lose a stamp set, so I am thinking a total overhaul is in order! I may have to use a different one for my shoebox swap on Saturday!

Mind you, the stuff on the floor isn't usually there like that~ I pulled most of it out of the closet. And this is the prettiest view I could find!

I actually postponed any projects until I can get this straightened, organized, and put away nicely so that I may find it again someday!

I am thinking this is like a 12 step program...I've admitted I have a problem.
Anyone like to organize? I will be here all day. :)

6:45 in the morning....

Happy Saturday~not! My kid decides to get up at 6:45 in the morning. Wouldn't want to miss out on the egg hunt at 10, or the birthday that is at 3pm!! You couldn't shake him out before 7 on a school day if the roof came down.

Here is another one from the gift of the week set over at Angela's blog today.
I made the cone with my scor pal~ (love that thing!!) anyhoo....just randomly scored it in a cone design. The ice cream is covered with crystal effects and a sprinkle of glitter. I used regal rose and my aquapainter to color it in. Took a day off from the copics....although, I read on Elizebeth's blog to try pitch black adirondack ink...so now I have to go shop again! I think I may have to get more copics also.... what a pricey addiction we have.


I can't believe it's already Easter~ wow...hope the Easter bunny remembers to stop by here!! ;)

Clean and simple...

I am not sure what it is about the cleaner look, but I just love the less is more look.
Here is another card from the set simple pleasures which Angela is giving away this week on her blog. It's a 4- 1/4 x 4-1/4 square card. I colored the cake in with my copics, and added cotton candy stickles to the heart at the top.

In other breaking news~ I got a new phone- with all the bells and whistles....it's like a iphone knock-off. Now I just have to learn how to use it! I love having a calendar, and address book, and any other thing at my disposal~ So much easier to keep track of everything, not sure why I took so long to get one! Welcome the 21st century!

Are you ready for Easter??? Still need to color eggs, get stuff together for hiding eggs- haven't even seen where the plastic ones are hidden... We are doing books in their basket this year~ sounds lame, but they get *so* much candy and junk from the in-laws, I am not sure I want them running around on a candy high for the next month!

It's another give away...

I have decided that pastels are not my *fave*. I like them as accents, with a stronger color, but not as a whole layout. Here is a very pastelly (is this a word?) card, and I am on the fence with it~
This is for Jen's SFYTT. This sketch worked perfectly with my cupcake!

The paper is wasabi for the base, (which happened to match the pattern perfectly) and the pp is two scoops by basic grey. Buttons and brads are also from the two scoops collection.

The cupcake is colored in with regal rose, and covered with crystal effects. There are stickles on the wrapper lines, and cotton candy stickles on the scallops~ love that color! The pattern on the paper is crooked, which is making the whole thing look a bit off to me!!

Now That's a color challenge!!!!

Whew! I saw the color challenge this morning and thought~ nah. I will skip it!!!
Orchid is a less than favorite color...but I think I pulled it off okay~

I got this set at CHA and just haven't had time to use it yet~ I just love it!! I stamped the egg and chicks in versafine and colored in with my copics (which I am still in need of much practice!) and then colored the popped up dots with my orchid marker. I also got to use my new swiss dots cb folder~ love it!!

Maybe later after the kids go to bed I will try and find some copic tips....anybody have any??
Shannan mentioned GP paper....what about inks?? Which works best, and does the blender pen make them bleed so?

Thank goodness for Monday! I did my St. Patty's day dash yesterday....and I am sore today! It was *so* cold waiting to start I think I may have a teence of frostbite!

Wee were so cold wee (pun intended!!) didn't even stay for the beer garden! It was a ton of fun though!

Love this bird!

I decided last time I used the bird colored in like this, it would be a less is more type of card.
I didn't like how the 'stuff' took away from the bird.

So, here I colored it in with turquoise, olive, and pumpkin. Random dots are covered with stickles, and the sentiment is the SU! SAB rubons in olive. Easy peasy and CAS. love it!

I have many things to do...but I decided to clean and organize my office space today~ anyone else have enough ribbon to choke Horton with? (took the kids yesterday!)
OMG, I mean like I could literally *never* buy any more, and not run out....sad!
so....since I have like 34 different layouts started, and even more cards I am working on at once I bailed out on crafty productivity to catch up on organization chaos.

I cannot walk through my office, it's like my 8 year old sons room. Ugh!
maybe, just *maybe* I will try and sneak in finishing a page for scrapbook Sunday tomorrow...

I managed to get two color challenges done this week~
I love the grey/black splash of color combo.
The stars are cut and mounted with dimensionals. Anyone else use like half a sheet a day??

yup, I totally caved and purchased some copics. I am hoping that I can learn by using~ they are *reallllly* nice to use though! ;)

This flower is stamped on acetate, and then colored in copics~ they make these cool lines in the flower almost like veins. Very fun to play with.

This is the stylized flowers again, and the sentiment is from spiritual sentiments, both from A Chemistry With Paper.

Color Challenge 157

Here is another color challenge card done~ I love the challenges, they really help when you are stuck in the mud!
Both panels are popped up with dimensionals.

The main white panel has a small smear on it, this is the second one I did. I forgot that the stickles was on it and apparently wasn't yet dry when I touched it!
Oh well, can you just pretend it's not there?


I LOVE basic grey, it is such a great color. Mix in black and any other color and wow! Pomegranite happened to be the third one today, and I like it is small doses.

The patterned paper is the charbon from the last catty. I have a ton left and need to continue using it.

The images are from A Chemistry With Paper. I happen to love this stylized flowers set!! It also has a solid flower you can stamp, and a little leaf. The sentiment is also from the set.

I may try and sneak in another challenge card while my husband is out biking today....

Scrapbook Sunday

I love the Bohemia line by MME. I purchased a lot of it early last year and just stared at it it was so pretty. I am so over hoarding now~ I am using up all of my paper as fast as I can.

So, if the next couple of months are posts with old out of date papers, now you know why. ;)
I have always like my pages to focus on the pictures, so again, I am a less is more type of scrapper. I just love how she looks at him in these photos~ they usually really do like each other- of course this was taken a few years back, she has become a *tad* more feisty with him lately.


So here are a few random things that I was amused by this week~

• My husband came home from work one day bald. B-A-L-D. Apparently it was a slow training day. Not a fan.
  
• I found a rubber bouncy ball in my dishwasher. Thank goodness it is clean now before it gets bounced on my oh-so-spotless (not) floors. really? who left that in there?
  
• My daughter has decided that she will now announce that she "didn't feel her butt rattle" every time she passes gas. Yup, girls sure are sugar and spice and everything nice. I won't even go into details how she now likes help with her "launching" arms....

So this started as a sketch from Holly's blog, and morphed into this~ a slightly altered version of her sketch.
I was not liking how the ovals worked with my placement, and the fact that I cut 1/4" off of my card didn't help! This is a 5-1/2" x 4". I just love these colors together~ I can't stop using them!
and I really wanted to use the olive twill, so it just worked.

it's been a couple of days...CC156

Since I last posted...and I am waaaay behind on a few things! I have a layout to share that was supposed to be posted on Sunday, but I couldn't get my stuff together in time from being gone all weekend. Girls weekend at the beach- very fun!

My husband is training for the STP, and is also trying for a new position at work which leaves me with very little time from him!! He is training in the mornings before work, and after is studying for his interview.
I have a 5K that I am racing (I usually walk/jog....not the timed race!!!!) and really am trying to find a routine that works now.

So... I need to get my act together and make it all work!! ;)

Happy Weekend!!!

Wow...What a long week. My son is on his way to antibiotic happiness...(the ear pain has already decreased), and our schools auction was a huge success, but very tiring. We managed to raise a little over $17,000.00.

That was where the majority of my time this week was spent....helping with getting it all together. Not much stamping was done this week, but I plan to fix that first thing Monday morning!! I have some brand new stamps from A Chemistry With Paper that I have been waiting to ink up!

Here is a card I had in my pile to share~ it is from the Unity Stamp Company, gratitude = joy.
I love the simple floral images in this one. I tried the ribbon dyeing technique that was shown in the SU magazine, but I am not as patient as they are...mine did look to bleed a little- it's not as crisp as it could be. Another day I will try again. A little hard to see, but there are stickles on the little flowers.

I am off to the beach~ the weather seems to be holding for us, so I can't wait to get there!
