I *can* stamp!!

It seems like I haven't been able to stamp in weeks. And I saw this color inspiration on Kristina Werner's blog and inspiration struck. WOW. LOVE these colors together! File this under 'colors that rock!'

I am going to make a few more using this color as well.

I went with a less than card, these colors are so calm and soothing, anything more just seemed to ruin the layout. Also, I was able to use my new memento ink with these acrylic stamps. I read somewhere that the memento inks work wonders with acrylic...no pooling here.

Be sure to check in with SCS today...big stuff happening. Unity Stamp Company's member forum is going to up sometime today and their new "product review" should be coming out as well!!!

movin' a bit slow today...

up to late last night, up to early today!
Last nights crop/class with Ali Edwards was *so* very cool! So much fun. I managed to get some photos which I haven't been able to upload yet. And the Ben Franklin has EVERYTHING! I mean *EVERYTHING*!!!
(Kid in a candy store!)
I got 3 new *full* size memento inks, lots of thickers, papers, paint, more acrylic albums, and a ton of stuff! We played with the alcohol inks and made a acrylic album- Ali rocks! She makes the ordinary everyday stuff useful.

We decided that we will try and get together at these crops regularly...Maren, maybe you should just move back over to this side!!! :)
Sarah, you were sitting too far away, I never saw your kit!!!

Here is a little page I made for Unity Stamp Company. Angela just happens to be giving the kit used here away when you order a set of her handles. I stamped the circle in cocoa on kraft making my own background paper. A few of them I used my SAMJ and double stamped to be a tad darker. All in all, a quick and easy page. My kind of layout!

Busy day~ my dad turned 60, so we headed out to a brunch cruise and then hung out at the Market the rest of the day. I am wiped out, going to go hold the bed down real quick! Pin It Now!

It's GORGEOUS today!!!

Wow! the weather today is really making up for the last several weeks of carp. Beeee-u-teee-ful sunny day in the northwest today! Kids are out riding scooters and bikes, playing with bubbles, and generally having a fab time!

Dh and DS went to opening day of fishing today, up at 4:00, so I see that my husband is laying in the back of his truck "watching" the kids outside!
He might need a nap here shortly!

I am cleaning and organizing, AGAIN. When will it end. I am really getting rid of a ton of stuff, and it's nice to pare down. It's the crop tonight, and the class taught by Ali Edwards herself! Yea~
We are meeting for dinner first, then off the scrap the night away!

This card.....by Unity Stamp Company~ (What are we at, like 5 days left to launch!!!)
pretty straight forward stuff here, butterflies are cut out and mounted with dimensionals and *covered* with stickles!!! All in all a very springy card for a day like today!

Adios~ I did manage to get a page done to share with ya manana! Pin It Now!

Happy Friday!

Whew~ what a week! I love Friday's, and Saturday's even better!!

Tomorrow I am going to an autism crop with some local gals and we are taking a class by Ali Edwards!! How cool is that!! I think we are making an acrylic album, I have been wanting to try one of these since I saw them at CHA.

I don't go to crops much, so I am excited! I am hoping to get a few things done~ you never know with a group of chatty ladies though.

Here is another creation using Unity Stamps fanciful dots. I went with Olive, Coral, Guava, and Choc Chip for the colors. There is a strip of the choc chip poly twill on the bottom, a MM page pebble over the left inner circle, and a clear button on the right circle.

And thanks to Maren...I wound up in Hancock Fabrics yesterday....and brought home a Janome Sew Mini~ I am going to see if I can get it working today~ wish me luck! Her card was just fabulous!! Pin It Now!

Sparkles everywhere!

Another Unity Stamp Company card~ this kit is called Oh Happy Day~ They go live in just over a week~the countdown is on!!
Check out her blog post here to see the fun behind the scenes look at getting ready to launch a company!!

I can't remember using this much glitter on any one project before! But a little excess won't hurt! This is to entice spring out from the hiding it's been in lately~
both butterflies are covered with stickles, and each dot is covered with stickles as well~ The sentiment, just the "i" is dotted with stickles~ didn't want to go over board!

Blogger isn't playing nice today~ took me a bit to load this photo, and it's acting like it's having earthquake issues- anyone else getting shaky screen from blogger?

looks like a tornado hit my office area~ might time to clean again~ I am thinking I will be letting go of quite of bit of unused/unloved product in the very near future~ keep your eyes peeled for some good deals! Pin It Now!

i just *heart* my copics

I always thought that was an interesting sentence....
I have had a pack of this paper sitting here unopened for a loooong time. Time to use it up! I am thinking I should quit buying new paper....I would be able to never buy paper again and NEVER run out!

I love this color alone, but do seem to be challenged with pairing it up well. The image is from Unity Stamps and is from the set Magnificent Moment. I stamped it in Versafine and colored in with my copics. I ordered that super grey one last time around and it is so cool to play with!

Anyone else live in the PNW? We are having to weirdest weather~ snow, hail, sleet, rain, wind, and sunshine all within an hours time. It rained/snowed/hailed at my house off and on all day Sunday and in Seattle~ perfect beautiful sunny day....It's not supposed to snow in April. (unless your in Minnesota, right girls?)
Ok, I have a TON of things to get caught up with (won't bore you with details) but will try and be better and posting this week.

Yea me!

I know~ we are getting ready to end school, welcome back is a bit early I suppose!
I just loved how this card turned out~ and it got *NO* love in my SCS gallery!! Funny how the things you like the best, nobody else does!
oh well~ I think it's a fun one.

It uses the prints ds paper pack, red, blue, & wasabi. They are stapled on and sort of crooked. (on purpose) I wasn't diggin' the symmetrical look for this one.

The stamps are from A Chemistry With Papers All Year Bag Toppers.

I did get an email from Cards Magazine today~
TWO cards in the September issue!! WOO- HOO!!
I am pretty stoked! So Who else???
Let's hear from all you GS gals~ I know you gals are in there also!!

Going Gray rocks!

Love Going Grey. great color, works well with almost anything you pair it with. Especially Sky.
Here's a little something I made up for Angela's Unity Stamp tags. It's a square 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 card. Oh~ and she is taking pre-orders on her handles starting now, check out her blog for the deets.

So, after 2 days on an air cast, the swelling in my ankle seems to have subsided...I am going to see if I can hobble around with out it tomorrow~
I'm feeling adventurous. And crabby.

After what seems like weeeeeeks without my husband having a day off, I am in serious need of some me time. He is supposed to be off tomorrow, but is working. Sooooo, I will stamp!
Stamping really is great therapy. I have a few more projects I need to whip out.
Hope you had a great hump day~

what do you think?

Love the color challenges...and this combo is nice, but I am not diggin' the end result. What do you think???

I am *loving* the martini glass though!
The images come from A Chemistry With Paper, and this is from the set All Year Bag Toppers.
Sharon made this set with a ton of cute little images and sayings that work together.

So....after hobbling around on a bum ankle for 5 days, I decided to check with a professional to make sure nothing was *really* injured! Nope- no real damage, just a narly sprain, and I now get to hobble with the assistance of an air cast. bummer- no running with the help of advil again for a while!

off to see what else I can scare up with this color combo~ Pin It Now!

So very fun and difficult!

I bought the simply swanky soldering kit at impress a while back, and finally thought I would give it a whirl~ At least I have a base line I can follow now, and a class to look forward to. It is *not* as easy as I thought it would be~ and I am wondering if my tool is defective since it doesn't seem to maintain consistent heat.

I stamped the bird image (Lockhart stamps) onto the afternoon tea paper, and then stamped again on shimmery white and cut the body/wings out and adhered to the paper. The birds are colored in with copic G00 (*LOVE* that color!!) I used the "a" from typeset alpha on the flipside. I like it....but definitely want it smoother looking. more practice! And the jump ring....ugh! wow, that was a challenge!

Last night's Tip-A-Cop went really well. Huge turnout, lots of cool cars/vans, the K-9 was there, and I even got arrested and paraded through the restaurant. (My son cooked that up I am told) They then took a Polaroid of me bent over the squad car, cuffed for each of my kids......"show and tell" my son said. Pin It Now!

I haven't been so great at keeping up here...

For some reason I seem to be extremely busy with everyday stuff and have been neglectful this week of my blog~ I think I have spring fever, I can't seem to accomplish anything at the moment, and I am going in too many directions at once!
This card is from the shoe box swap a few weeks back and I forgot to share it.

I ordered this set way back and hadn't even mounted it yet, so I decided to give it a little attention.

Today is a *beautiful* day here, the sun is shining, it's supposed to be up around 70 today, and I am heading outside for the day, because the rain may come back tomorrow! My husband is working this evening at the local Red Robin for the annual Tip-A-Cop which benefits Special Olympics~ a perfect excuse to eat out tonight!! I am also hoping to show my kids the benefit of doing your part.
Have a fabulous weekend!

kids crack me up

I went to the store the other day to pick up a few things....I am in a daze and trying to remember what it is that I am in need of.
My kids are yammering away at each other, getting along well, and in the middle of the aisle, my *four* year old daughter starts singing
"Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me"....and so on. Now, she does have the words messed up a little bit, but, you get the point.

Thanks Alvin.

So~ I like to take pictures. Always have. It's time I did something with these though~ they are taking over my office- I can't ever find the photo I want anymore, and my husband is tired of stepping over them.

This is partially what I have been spending my days on this last week~
and then there's the pile of stamps I need to organize. That will happen later. maybe. quite possibly not.

Not much exciting stuff here~ my daily life seems to be all that I can handle and I am finding little time to do what I want. Pin It Now!

Never a fun card to make...

And I never keep sympathy cards around. I prefer to make them as the situation arises, hoping that it never actually will. The stamps are from the stylized flowers and spiritual sentiments both from A Chemistry With Paper.

I love these colors together, very soft and calming. The base is Blush Blossom. This is a color I *never* like until very recently. I don't even own the ink pad! *making a mental note to order it!*

The mat is coral, (another color growing one me, however I own two of this pad!?)
chocolate, and then blush again.
I left this a tad on the simple side~ not wanting it to be too busy.

This is our last official day of spring break! I made it!! It gives me hope for the summer now. ;)
I am off to the store, we are out of milk! and all other food like items it seems. My kids motto this week: when bored, check the kitchen. Pin It Now!

A Challenge, & A game of tag

So here is my card for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge
I scored this Doodle Factory image (by Starving Artist Stamps) from Sarah last week at the shoe box swap.
I will probably drop this into the mail for my son~ he loves getting mail!!

These adorable images are on sale right now I believe, and if you hit Sarah's blog (link at the bottom of this post) I believe she has a 10% off code you can use to stock up on them!! They are a lot of fun!

And~ Angela tagged me the other day....so here I go:

7 random things~

1: I have recently decided to start coloring the little gray hairs that show their unruly side with a sharpie. Buh-bye!

2: I have ADD when I shop. I always get *so* distracted by everything and anything that I tend to walk in circles. Maybe it's because I don't get to shop very often!!

3: My husband has trained me to be very cheap! (thus the lack of shopping!!) I am a bargain hunter, sale shopper, whatever you want to call it. I think I may be getting worse than him since taking over handling the money.

4: I love to take pictures...I have probably taken close to 4000 since I got my new camera in September. I am in need of spending a little time organizing them in my computer and possibly freeing up some space by deleting them after I copy them to a DVD, (which I am positively afraid of doing!)

5: I stamp/scrap standing most of the time. I can't sit and work, not sure why.

6: I have food issues....I don't like eating "meals in a box" type of food. I prefer to cook everything from scratch. My husband thinks AM PM is a great meal. eeeew.

7: I love everything about my life right now. Couldn't ask for anything more.

I am now supposed to tag 7 people -

Have a super weekend!

So funny!!! and Breaking news

Here is a card for today's LSC~ WOW! Use white with *only* one other color. Seemed simple. Not so much!

I first stamped my whale in black with the intent on coloring him in with my new copics, but then I realized, black was not ok.

So here is the finished version~White with Soft Sky. I scalloped the white with my corner rounder, used Elizabeth fibers for my ribbon, popped up both the whale image and the whole mid section with dimensionals. I tried stamping 'get whale soon' in white on the sky base, but it really didn't show well at all. Thus the row of brads!
humorous pictures
And I stumbled on this picture last night while wasting time on the computer~
I can't look at this site and not laugh! For some reason I just sit and giggle like my 4 year old does after she toots. (She says toot, must be a girl thing)

So lets see- day number 5 of spring break and we are doing well!! Only one injury, a few minor fights, one incident with a rubber band gun and an eye, a few play dates, a few days at the ocean, and movie night. Today is looking yukky out, so the kids will be having friends over again.

And in other breaking news~

I am going to be published! Yea! I really haven't done any submitting for no other reason than- just didn't do it, but I sent a few cards in March, and one got picked up by Paper Trends mag, August/September issue! So, now of course I am thinking I should continue this and fill up their in boxes monthly! :)

WT160- rub ons!!

So- home from the Ocean. The kids had a great time, and it was beautiful, but a bit chilly!

I am in need of spring break stamping therapy!! My daughter is having cling issues, and my son is just bouncing off the walls with energy since he is not frying his brain at school (not that it really does happen!) or running his tail off on the playground.

Here is a quick one for today's Way's to use it challenge....Like I need an excuse to use rub ons! I love them! And I got to use my new making memories animal cracker felts.

I am hoping to get a few more cards done today, and get caught up on some stuff, so the kids are lounging today~ maybe we will take off for somewhere else tomorrow, it is nice to have a break from school. Pin It Now!
