where is the love??

This is probably one of my favorite cards lately and of course, the one I like the best, gets the least amount of love!!!

Paper is crate sweet branch- love that stuff!

I stamped this bird several times, and then cut it out and mounted each layer with dimensionals.

I colored it in with my copics...(need to order more- such an addiction!!) and added some fabulous icons. LOVE those things!! *Maren- I did buy more yesterday!;) I may need a 12 step program!!

Here are a few close up views of the fab bird itself! The second shows the layers a little better!

and I am horrible in remember to link these things...
Jennifer G on SCS left me an award a few days back, thanks Jennifer!
anytime I find that any one is actually reading my blog, I think maybe it's not time wasted! ;)
check out her blog here!!

I admit I am not the best at responding to comments and or keeping my links updated. I could be consumed by blurfing, so I *try* to limit my time on this blog!!! *notice I said try....;)

Off to swim lessons. again.

Went with clean and simple this time...

sorry I am late to post~ swim lessons are consuming my life again! ;)

Here are my cards from yesterday's sneaks!
These are both from the same set named Growing In Unity. This set has been up since we came home from CHA, but there are two more being released tonight that have not yet been shared!

I LOVE this tree! I really struggle with an image like this- I don't want to "busy" it up! This first one is a simple card that can be used for just about anything- went with a more masculine feel- even with the flourishes.
The second card follows Natasha's CAS fall to layout #6 the paper is so pretty and the flourish is just fabulous! didn't want to muddy up the designs.

The BIG Release Party is tonight!! Come on over HERE and play!!

Tonight: 6-8 pm PACIFIC Time 9-11 EST; 7-9 Mountain; & 8-10 Central!

see ya tonight~ Pin It Now!

So not my style....

But I do like how it turned out! I placed some random strips of patterned paper on my card base, and sewed in a few circles. I colored the flowers and covered them with stickles. Added the ribbon, buttons, and primas. Love it! Not sure why!!!
And I love how the black makes it pop even more! The sentiment is from Unity, and is one of their singles.
If I get a chance...I am going to work on more DTGT Challenges today. I have a few I *really* want to play in!! Love a good challenge!

Today we are done with birthdays for a while! My son had a great time, and we need some plain ol' summer time to enjoy! I did sign my daughter up for swim lessons again...She *loves* to swim, and the competitive edge in her pushes her to farther and deeper.

Ok- enjoy your day~ make to sure to stop by the Unity forums this week- Angela is releasing 5 new kits Wednesday! Pin It Now!

Challenge time

Where did Friday go?? Maren and I headed out to Ben Franklin just for "a little while" and ended spending the whole afternoon there! It is so fun to walk through with someone else who just ooohs and ahhhs over the same stuff! I picked up a lot a stuff.... ;)
Then we had parents night out, dropped the kids off at Karate and went out for our "date night". Yep, short lived, Jeff got called out. Figures.
oh well-story of my life!

It's Saturday and we are doing the birthday party thing here. I need to stuff party bags, make cupcakes, and prep the pizza dough. After the party a few kids are coming over for a sleepover and dinner will be home made pizzas.
Good stuff!

My card today is from the DTGT challenges and was my least favorite so far, but yet, (and not at all surprisingly) was the most commented one. I didn't like how the circle turned out, and yep, I am my own worst critic! I did get to use my new Martha Border punch.

off to cook and clean. enjoy your saturday!!

details: live the life you love- Unity Stamps
Paper- Bordering blue, Pumpkin, WW, American Crafts

another LAD bday sketch!

Ok- here is the last of my LAD birthday bash sketch challenges. This one happen to work out perfectly for my son's 9th birthday which is coming up next week!!

The planet is colored with copics, and the spica on its ring. The spaceships, and the sign are all popped up on dimensionals.

Some fun Cosmo Cricket paper, and it's a keeper! Pin It Now!

LAD Birthday sketch cards...

Here is one of my LAD birthday challenge cards for their 2nd Anniversary.
I stamped the fairy on acetate with stazon and colored from the back side with crystal effects and reinkers, then sprinkled, with glitter. The focus was to be on a birthday theme, so I stole the sentiment from the Out of this world set.

I love how it turned out, and just how sparkly it is!! Pin It Now!

more CAS

Still in Chicago!!

another quick and simple card using American Crafts Thickers, patterned paper, and ribbon.
I scalloped the bottom portion the old fashioned way- with my corner rounder, ;)
and added some bling, not sure of the brand.

the sticker label is from my work in progress scrap kit.

that's all for now peeps! Pin It Now!

Chicago Bound baby!!

So- a real quick post and I am out the door!

Here is a layout I created for my son's Green Belt graduation. He commented on it, asking that I add some sort of 'green 'detail to it! There may be some scrapping his future ;)

The AC thickers were all white and I colored the ones on the white portion black. The scallop is the flip side of the black striped paper, punched with a 3/4" circle punch. I love how it turned out. Another real clean and simple layout.

Have a super week!

ballerina birthday

My neighbor asked if I could whip up a card for her little girls 6th birthday. Since she is in ballet, I thought this *might* work!

The making memories paper has flocking in the pink dots, and was run through the cuttlebug. The pink tutu and her head were both cut out and popped up on dimensionals. I applied a nice heavy layer of stickles on her tutu, and a lesser amount on her tiara and the rest of the dress.
Popped some dew drops in the corners, mounted a few dozen dimensionals on it, and called it a day!

She was quite pleased. Who wouldn't love a glittery tutu on their birthday card?!?

My husband had to work @ 2:30 this morning, so he came home early today! yea! this allows me some stamping time- I have a few things to get done before I leave Wednesday. I am pretty excited, and I *need* this break!!! Countdown is on!! Pin It Now!

one quarter of the way through....

This is what it looked like yesterday morning at Spanaway Junior High...Mile marker 53 was the final stop for most of the cyclists yesterday on their way down to Portland. This was 1/4 of the way through the whole event, and the half way point if you were doing it in two days. They had 10,000 participants in this years race.

We drove down to meet my husband, considering it was only a 1/2 drive and it took him 4 hours to get there!

Here are some of my fave pictures from the stop. The bikes and people seem to go for miles! And, if you had to stop for the oh-so awful smelling port a potty, the line was a good half hour long.

He is still not home, but he did call today to let me know he made it, and will be home later after they drive back. I for one, am much more fond of the 3 hour car drive over the 210 miles of sitting on a bike seat down to Portland. But, to each his own. ;) Pin It Now!

The Weekend is here folks!

And my husband started his day at the crack of dawn, and is on his way to Portland! He is riding in his first STP, so wish him luck!!

I got an email from my girlfriend, she finally arrived in Thailand. Made me a bit sad. It's not the same with her gone.

On to my card. I love this owl. He is great- and for some odd reason, I find myself loving orange lately. Anyone else in an odd color spot? I don't typically find myself drawn to orange- but I can't stop using it this week! So, here is an orange free card, but trust me, I tried to sneak it in! ;)

The owl is stamped on Kraft twice, and the wings and ears are cut out and popped up with dimensionals. The saying, fits my kid perfectly...might have to send this off to him.
You ask him something, you say anything, you get- "huh??" I know I am not alone here ;)

Enjoy your weekend! Pin It Now!

Take joy in the little things

Here is my take on Julee's Mojo Monday challenge for this week~ I have been waiting to ink up this new set that I recently got and play.

I pulled out some American Crafts paper for this- I love this paper- and this cards is a little heavier than my normal cards...but it's fun to lay it on thick every once in a while.

I stamped the flower 3 times, cut it out and popped the the 2nd and 3rd layer, and then popped up the circle center. The butterflies are also cut and popped up with dimensionals.
I actually love it, not very often do I love a card with this much *stuff* on it!!

Off to try and accomplish 6000 things- July is *so* busy. DH is doing the STP- this weekend, I leave for Chicago in a week- (YEAH!!!!) and then My son is turning 9! I have a list as long as my arm of things to do...I think we are busier this month than when we are in school.....

lastly- Angela is doing her Random special again!!! Check out her sale- and get some Unity at a crazy price!!!!

CS- Pumpkin, Black, White. Bashful Prints DS paper, American Crafts Paper.

More Quick and Easy Cards

How was your fourth?!?
I managed to score a nice sunburn, eat too much junk food, and light off a ton of things that shoot, whistle, explode, and pop!

There was a major low tide on the 4th, and the kids were able to see star fish, moon snails, sea anenomes and all sorts of cool things that swim and crawl in the water. The beach always seems to provide a nice biology lesson when we get there on low tide days.

My sons teacher is expecting her first child, and loves to make her own cards. So I thought I would make her a gift set with a bunch of pre-made baby thank you's just using patterned paper and easy-peasy layouts. She tells me she's always looking for quick and easy ideas.

I figured I could make her a little tin for the cards, and then she could store her little trinkets in it.

I have never been one to make a bunch of these lunch boxes, but who can resist a major sale at Jo-Ann's??? ;)

anyhoo...which is your fave? I think the lion is my favorite one. He is colored with my copics, (and I just learned that the proper name is tole, never knew that!!) and his head is cut and mounted on dimensionals. Simple tole? Learn something every day.

Countdown to Chicago is on....next week!! Pin It Now!
