Because we are quick like that!

We were discussing what our challenge would be for this week, and it seemed that we all were strapped for time...so we went with a "quick card" challenge-it had to be done in 10 minutes or less.

this is *right* up my ally!! ;) Love those quick & easy, (or as Jennifer says- epls, easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy) styled cards. Who has time for a card that takes an hour?!?

The sentiment is from Unity's kit of the month for September- only a few more days to pick it up!! The paper is from a Making Memories pack I snagged a while back. The colors-moss and burgundy- two colors I haven't used in a LONG time, but I love them together here!!

Make sure to stop by the others and see what they are up to this week as well-

eta: make sure to stop by on Saturday- World Card Making day- lots going on! I will be helping Mandy give away great products from her store!!! Pin It Now!

so Frightful! Little Yellow Bicycle's Halloween kit

I have loved their line since I first saw it at Winter CHA, and was able to bring home a fold out album kit from Summer CHA. They have really fabulous and wide range of embellishments, stamps, and paper.

This is one of their Fold Out Album kits, you can see the whole line here. I don't usually like these types of "kits" but this one was one of the coolest I have played with.

Everything you see is from the kit with the exception of the black gingham ribbon on the journaling tag. LOTS of embellishment options! I could not find a price for this, so I can't say if it's a good deal or not, but if you are the type that thinks you cannot scrap- this is a great item for you!

I was able to put this whole album together in about an hour. The only unfavorable factor is how difficult the punch outs can be, and the little tabs left on them. I had to trim most of them off with scissors. Other than that- it's a fun little book that is getting all sorts of attention here!!!

These pictures are from 2005 when my daughter was just under 2 years old and really just "getting" the idea of Halloween. We love Halloween here in our house, and I have lots of pictures to scrap!! I would definitely buy one of these types of albums again!!

Hip HOP!

Well here we are with another round of hip hoppin' madness today!
This week we have a ton of new releases! The first is seen here in the first two cards- (with a case of the amazingly talented Val!) Middle School Madness, created by our own Jen Erickson.
She hand drew all the images- they are ca-ute! Make sure to stop by Unity and check them all out! The first one says "willl you go with me", check one- and the second- my daughter's favorite saying- Girls rule, boys drool. (There is also a reverse of that saying in there as well!)

Also- there will be some new stuff from Lynn Warner- first time Unity Stamp Designer! CUTE!
*and* if you are a fan of Edward, Jacob, or any of *their* type...you will need the new kit!!!! ordering first thing when it goes live today!!!! ;)

The next two projects use the September Kit of the month...and the last....ugh, is my card from last week that would not make an appearance while we are on vacation. Apparently, my blog was on vacation as well! I happen to be on a big "tree" thing lately- so this will be another well loved stamp! I outlined it with an atyou spica pen.

Make sure to stop by Linsey's blog and see what she has cooked up for you!

Monday Challenge time!

Well....my computer has SLOWED way down to a screeching halt! I managed to take a little over a 1000 pictures in Disneyland. It is taking about 4 hours now for them to be uploaded to Costco!!! I *may* have gone over board... ;)

Here is my Monday challenge card. PLEASE let it be visible!!!
not sure why blogger was being a pita last week- but it was!

This week Amber, Jennifer, and Maren went with stitching on our cards. And yes, this is out of season! ;)

I must say, I am not of fan of pastels together, and I really like to stick with my neutrals and earth tones! Not over happy with how this card turned out, but....sometimes you have to stretch. And stretch I did here!!

The bunny is paper pieced with some basic grey and SU prints packs. There is an insane amount of bling on this egg, should you ever find one like this while Easter egg hunting, you scored!!

Check out what the others did-

Home finally!

Well, we are home...unpacking, going to soccer games, buying new microwaves, (our less than a year old microwave went south the day before we left!!!) and trying to play catch up...

I am having huge issues with my blog (as you may have noticed from the numbers of red x's instead of photos,) and am pretty frustrated with it...I am not sure why some are working and some aren't, (and Yes Shannan, I did remember to upload them!!!)

anyhow- when the dust settles here I will try and reload them (or just give up again!! ;)

be back soon! Pin It Now!

HIP HOPPIN' From Anaheim!!

Happy Hip Hoppin' folks!! I am coming to you live from Disneyland- happiest place on earth!! {well, not really live!} I tried to squeeze more stamping time in before I left, but I had so many other things to get done- it took a backseat. Anyhow, I did manage to get this card done- I think I have a new favorite Halloween set!! This is one of the cutest little spiders! (and I am not a fan of spiders- ask anyone who knows me) It's a bit hard to see, but the spiders are colored over with an atyou spica pen. And this is one of my fave cards for Halloween yet.

Have a super hip hop- don't party too much!! make sure to head on over to Heather's blog and check out her hippity hoppin' stuff!!!

It's another Monday Challenge

Posted by Picasa
A few weeks back, Maren, Amber, Jennifer and I decided to push ourselves with a little challenge each Monday. (sometimes being committed to something really helps productivity! ;)

This weeks challenge was a thinking of you card- Maren is so thoughtful- she thought it would be appropriate for while I was gone! So, again, this is me stretching myself. I used some making memories paper (scalloped) and offset it a bit. The brown lace paper is from KI Memories, and the strip across is Basic Grey. Some MAMBI rubons, stickles on my tree, a prima with a BUTTON in the middle- {Maren LOVES buttons!}

I had the dirty up the main panel a bit it was too stark white. I colored the tree in with my copics and highlighted all the dots with the stickles.

Go check out the other girls stuff!!! And speaking of dirtying up- make sure to give proper CONGRATS to JENNIFER for making the DD!! WOOO HOOO!!! GO BUCK!!!!

Yeehaw! What a LONG few months of waiting and we are finally on the plane to DISNEYLAND!!!!! I am typing this up the day prior and at this point, it is still a secret to the kids!

I am excited to get down there and take it all in!
I will bore you with plenty of pictures when we get back! ;)

Here is a quick layout with some Cosmo Haunted paper- The bottom is a pocket that is sewn on and the picture and journaling are just slipped into it. The pictures of the kids in the pumpkin guts smiling ear to ear are just precious!! LOVE it!

In the mean time- if you could go here and vote for Robyn Weatherspoon- (Unity sister) she is in another Scrapbooks etc contest with her mad scrapping skilzz!!

My soccer star!

Game one for my youngest...I love the look of determination on her face.
You know she loves the game since she is wearing orange & black- her least favorite colors. ;)
She did well, and wasn't too upset about "not winning" this time- she managed to have fun, cheer her team on, and played most of the game. She got knocked around a bit, pushed down once, and never complained- hopped right back up, shook it off, and went back to it!

She's definitely the more competitive one of my two kids!! ;)

Dad took them to run errands so I can pack, and secretly stress out about pulling it all off for tomorrow!!

Disneyland here we come! :)

Sunday Scrapping on Wednesday ;)

Happy Hump day! I am trying to finish up some projects and get stuff together before we leave on Sunday.
I pulled this picture out the other day and it just made me smile- her oh-so-adorably infectious grin! She has always had a way of making your heart melt when you look at her! Love how she tilts her head to the side!

I have always been a simple scrapper- and haven't been so great at mixing of products and adding different elements, so, take that into consideration when viewing!

tomorrow is HIP HOP!!! BIG stuff happening! Pin It Now!
