Stamp Simply Celebrates! Cookie Recipe Exchange

Day one is here! It's a Cookie Recipe Exchange!
Janine challenged us to come up with a cookie recipe and some festive holiday packaging.

First- here is my easy recipe:
Swirled Holiday Snowball Cookies
  • 1 1/2 Cups butter softened
  • 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1 2/3 cups Nestle Toll House Swirled Holiday Morsels (pictured below)
  • 1/2 Cup finely chopped nuts

preheat oven to 375

cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in morsels and nuts. Shape level teaspoons of dough into 1 1/4 " balls. Bake on ungreased sheets for 10-12 minutes. Shake extra powdered sugar on as garnish.

ok- So, I made these last year- yum! We ate them all- I made this batch yesterday and skipped making them into balls- You can just drop onto the cookie sheet as well if you choose to. The first picture of cookies is with sugar, and the second is how they look coming straight out of the the oven. They remind me of Russian tea cakes. Very buttery!!

I found the gift tin in the dollar section of target of course, and simply placed the cookies in a cello bag with some pretty ribbon and a fun little tag. Thanks Janine for the inspiration!!

Make sure to stop by Angela's blog for all the new releases, specials, and hip hop news!

First up is this fun little place card- I love the turkey on it, wouldn't want to be the Turkey this week- bwahahaha! It uses the fall festival set.

I wasn't quite ready to put away that set yet- so I also made this quick little card with the sprig of wheat- (is that what you call this???) Love this nestie, so glad it finally made it here!

And lastly, is my tri-fold tag card using sleigh ride.

I thought this could be a cute little gift for someone-

there are 9 identical tags in all tucked inside. I left them with out a sentiment for plenty of room to write on.
The back ground is using the snowflake serenade stamp.
Why does white always look so great on Kraft??

next up....Jen E!!

Monday Challenge Chicks time

Today's challenge was to make a Christmas card with non-Christmas colors. I was drawing a blank on this one and came up with this.

It's not too Christmassy, (Is that a word?) and it's not my favorite card ever, by any means.
But I think it may pass the challenge here-

The snowmen are Queen & Co felt, and the paper is some older SU DS prints paper. The car front is stamped with little snowflakes as well- not sure why you can't see them!

I went a little crazy with the shimmerz- that stuff is fun to play with! It does makes for a challenge in picture taking though!

Check out the rest- Brooke, Jeanne, Jennifer, & Maren. there stuff is much cuter!!! Pin It Now!

Happy Saturday

Where does the time go...I can't believe Thanksgiving is coming up.

Here is a fun little eco chic card for you- the tree is colored in with copics. The paper is from my scarlet lime kit. Pretty basic stuff here.

I did make it out to see twilight last night, with my husband. ( I was surprised he wanted to go!)

I will keep quiet until everyone has had chance to see it- I will say I haven't been to a movie where all of the "girls" cheered when an actor appeared on the screen- it was a bit comical. ;) It is amazing the following these books have developed. I will admit, I did have a hard time not staring at Edward. ;)

Have a great weekend!

Stamp Simply 62 Write on Ribbon

It's a stamp simply challenge time again!
This weeks challenge was to stamp on ribbon. My first attempt bled really bad- this is the second attempt using stazon on satin ribbon. No bleeding. Much better.

The ornament is from LAD build a bauble set- I paper pieced it with last year's SU! wintergreen paper, and then covered it with glitter.
It has a library clip at the top attaching it to it's hanging ribbon.
And the second picture is the inside-
and since I have a Lizzie Anne card here to share with you-
they have a free shipping code to share!

This code is for free shipping on orders over $35 in the U.S. and is good until the end of November.

It's Here!! Hip HOP!

Happy Thursday! It's another hip hoppin' day!

Today's new releases to share are snowmen drawn by Lisa Hetrick! The first card uses the snowflake serenade for the back ground and the sentiment says "Snow one like you".

The second uses the snowman and the trees- love those trees- they are great to paper piece with. The snowman head and body is cut and mounted with pop dots. It is also painted with shimmerz and is very shimmery!

The last card uses the other snow man, (he is also cut and mounted with pop dots) and the sentiment is from the kit Bitty Christmas Tags.

See at the hip hop party!

Make sure to head on over to Jeanne's blog and check out her hip hoppy fabulousness!!

Jen's SFYTT

Posted by Picasa
Happy Sunday! I had a free minute (or two) yesterday and thought I would give a try to Jen's sketch for you to try- Saturdays' seem to be a more challenging day to stamp for me! However, I am more than happy with how this came out. I LOVE snowmen!!!

I stamped the snowflakes and snowman on to shimmery white card stock. (My favorite white to use!) The snowman is outlined with Copic {B000} and colored in with coordinating colors from the paper.
I am off the a jewelry and bead show and then some serious house cleaning is in order!
have a great Sunday!

SSnotime61

It's another Stamp Simply Challenge! This one called for a fun fold, anything other than your standard or top folding card.

I went with what I have always called a box card, it opens up just like a box, and you can put something inside if it's relatively flat. Should you be interested in trying this, I made an attempt a while back to show how to here.
Julie Koerber also has a fabulous tutorial to do this same thing here.

It uses a sheet of printer paper for the folded portion, so I adhere a piece of cardstock to the back so it's not to flimsy.

I stamped the mug in memento ink and colored it in with my copics.
The paper is from LAD pretty papers line and for the inside of the card I just stamped the snowflake on bordering blue to mimic the pattern in the paper.

Hip HOP! It's that time again!

Thursday's are my favorite. Love them, one day 'till Friday, and it's HIP HOP!!!!

Today's cards are all from the KOM. I had a play date with some October Afternoon paper, so it manage to attach itself onto every card today!!

The first one is a pretty basic card, the bird is cut and popped up with a pop dot, and pierced randomly along the papers.

The second one uses that adorable deer image. I colored him with my copics, trying to channel Jeanne's coloring skills, but not such luck! ;)
His nose & eye is colored in with a saukura glaze pen.

And the last is my interpretation of the DD sketch challenge. I started with the layout, but the circles stumped me, so I didn't use them. It's a starting point, right? I stamped the card base with the worn grid background, pierced randomly along the patterned paper, and finished the main panel off with some AC ribbon.

I will need to run out and do some shopping today, two birthday's tomorrow!! So there goes my day of stamping! ;)

Make sure to hop on over to Heather's blog and see what she has whipped up with the KOM!!!

Color Challenge

Posted by Picasa

Quickie post!
Mid week mayhem. This seems to be such a busy week and I can't figure out why I am running all over the place. *Must be the extra shopping I have to get done for the peeps in Thailand* (yep, that's a guilt trip comment) you should feel bad- yea- you in Thailand, talking to you!

Here is my color challenge card- not sure how I squeezed that in!!
Used the cute little birds from last month's kit of the month and the sentiment is from this month's. An easy peasy card- my favorite style. ;)

We had our end of the year soccer party last night- whew! one less thing to do during the week!!! I can't believe how close to the holiday's we are- I am glad for less running around now!

Did you happen to see this!?!? It's a hip hop pre party! Sounds like a fun little game Angela is doing! go check it out, and make sure to be there!!

I am a less is more kind of gal...

Good Veteran's Day morning! I have one home from school, and the other has school. I always thought that the preschools followed the elementary schedules, but I guess not today!

So here is my card for the more is more challenge for the dirty dozen-the top one, (was from hip hop a few weeks back) is the less, and the bottom is the "more" version. I would have to say I really like the top better.
(I had to shoot the second one at an angle because the sleigh is covered with shimmerz and the flash was reflecting it back- wow it's shiny!) I added a artichoke layer, some layers of nestibilities, some piercings, some brads, and more ribbon.

Which do you like better? Pin It Now!

Happy Birthday Lauren!

Yea- today she is 5!!
Here she is getting a big smoochie from her mom at her party! She had a great time.

Luckily- she has requested we eat out at Red Robin for her birthday- works for me! no cooking involved!!

Here is today's challenge- a mini card using buttons and NO ribbon. And for some reason Maren was unable to play....hmmm. sounds like some sort of button strike to me!
Amber is also out- I think she said she is getting a boot today! No more big foot wrap!! We were able to meet up with her and Christy yesterday and have lunch and shop at Ben Franklin. Lots of fun!
Here is my quick and easy card- always good for this time of year! It is a 3x3 size, & it uses the Lizzie Anne Designs set Christmas in the City. The patterned paper is also their coordinating paper- the snowflakes match perfectly. I am not ready for snow weather, but it sounded good!

Check out Jennifer and Brooke's take on this challenge.

Deets: LAD- Christmas in the city, pretty papers- Winter Wonderland. Bordering Blue, Going Grey, WW, Basic Grey. Buttons- buttons galore and more, Stickles.

Stamp Simply 60- Back to nature

It's time to stamp simply! I am joining this fabulous team of talented stampers and couldn't be more excited!

Sharon is an amazingly talented person, and I had the chance to meet her in Chicago last summer, and she is just as sweet in person!!

For this weeks challenge we were to used something from the outdoors! I of course thought pine cone.
I think this may have been a common theme!! ;)
I covered my pine cone with MS glitter- it looks more frosted than glittery!
I used Cosmo's buck naked ornaments and there Be Good paper to cover it. And what good is a nice homemade ornament (adorned with a picture of my kids) without a gift bag to match? This is your standard genie bag also with Cosmo paper and tag.

and here are the rest!

It's Hip HOP time again!

Welcome to the next installment of hip hop!

Today's release we have this whimsical little house image called Chalet of Serenity- This is one of three house images being released today.

This is for the CPS sketch this week also.
Now if I could just remember to link it up over there.
*Notice the Kraft base! ;)

And then I went with a CAS card using......Kraft again.
This paper is so cute, I just wanted to show case it.
The sentiment is from a past KOTM. A very cas, qae style card, let the paper do the work.

Lastly, this is been done a few times I have seen, but the first time I saw this apron style card was from a swap Maren and I went to. (one of my stamping idols!) The pie is cut and popped up on dimensionals and colored with copics-

This card is in need of a good pie recipe to be written in on it. I love to bake, but am only a mediocre pie maker. So I don't bake pies that often.

Plus, I may end up eating the whole thing, and that can't be good. ;)

Next on your list to visit is our Guest Designer for the month- Chelsea.

have a great Thursday!

It's Defininitely fall here...

Posted by Picasa
My front yard is covered in leaves this color... tons of them. Time to get the kids out to rake them up!
This card uses Unity's fall festival kit, I stamped the acorn image and just punched out a portion of it. Colored it in with copics- (caved and ordered more yesterday) and added some MAMBI bling.

Busy week here-cookie dough fund rasier kick off at our school, several birthdays, (they all come at once) my daughter's bday party, and my sons last soccer game.

Lots of stuff coming up- hip hop is tomorrow, and make sure to stop back by Friday.

Monday Challenge Chicks!

Today's challenge was to make a thinking of you/get well card for Amber WITH OUT patterned paper. She is just down the way from me at Madigan recovering from surgery- so she will not be joining us today- hopefully she can see all of our thinking of you cards! ;)
I was totally inspired by a card Becky Oehlers did on her blog where she stamped the sentiment on her ribbon- I have not don that in what seems like years!

I of course went with Kraft. It just seemed like a good starting point. ;)
The image is stamped with memento and colored over with the sakura pen. Very sparkly!
I wrapped the ribbon around and tied it off with some linen thread and a button. (that's for Maren!) need to order some more actually...maybe she will go in on a bulk order? ;)

another simple styled card for ya!
*if you want to make Amber a card, just link it up in the Unity forum for her to see!
