Paper Tole Thanks

For today's Holiday Challenge on SCS today-

Simple Tole-stamp your flower repeatedly several times, cut out each layer as needed. On this card I stamped the flower once on the white panel and then 3 other times- the photo below shows a close up side view.

I colored each layer with my copics and mounted each layer with dimensionals.

I went with a simpler layout- I didn't want to take away from the flower.

If you play along, make sure to upload using Keword HCE11.

Jolies Fleurs, Circle Sentiments- Lizzie Anne Designs
Paper- Basic Grey, perhaps
copic markers

Monday Challenge Chicks- Candy!

Posted by Picasa
It's another challenge chicks Monday- check out the rest- Amber, Jeanne, Jennifer, Maren, & Brooke and see what they all did!!

This weeks challenge is Candy~ luckily- I have this fabby stamp from my KOM several months back! I colored it in with my copics and used some retired SU paper. Seemed to fit the theme. ;)
and this card has no ribbon- NONE. I know, (said in my Monica voice) I think I may need to go check my temp!!!

It's been a long week here- snow is *finally* melting- wowsers! I am sad to say, I am already wishing for spring! This week will prove to be another long week- since the kids are home still-my stamping time is drastically reduced. At least they have new games and toys! and some play dates mommy lined up!

Have a super Monday!

Well, not exactly yet- but I will most likely be cooking & cleaning all day and may not get back online!

Twinkle- I made this card last week, and at the time, I wasn't buried in a foot of snow! It doesn't usually snow in Western Washington- but it started about a week and half ago, and hasn't ever gone away! It's sooooo weird to have this much in your yard! my poor husband has had to shovel every ones drive way, and help several of the neighbors get out!

Yesterday I wrapped- got most of it done- a *few* things left wrap today- need to cook, clean, and bake.

Usually we have about 25 over on Christmas day, but with the weather- I can bank on a few not coming!

Have a great Christmas!

Monday Challenge Chicks: Santa!

So...I am sure you have all heard me say that I am done with Christmas cards....
Well..the MCC wanted to do Santa this I whipped up one more ;) I realized I only have two Santa images, this being on eof them! yikes! time to order stamps it sounds like!!!

I am late posting this morning due to life. We have had more snow in the last 4 days than I can remember in my *few* years on the earth! ;) Needless to say it has interrupted my routine! School outages, winter storm warnings, fear of being snowed in, and top off that I am not quite ready for Christmas! hahaha! I am realllly behind!! Still need to get out and get a few things.

But when it hits like this- you have to get out and play in it while you can! The picture is of my backyard yesterday, (it has since snowed again another several inches.) and has since grown taller! The kids have taken to snowboarding in the front yard. good times!!

off to play in the snow some more!

eta: go check out the others-

We interupt this Christmas holiday....

For a Valentines Day card. I couldn't help go with a Valentine themed card when I was playing with these images....
This is from the DD sketch this month-

And have you seen this????? I am excited to be joining this great team! JBelle has soooo much great stuff in her store!

We still have snow, (it's quite unusual for our area) and we are supposed to get another storm today...hurricane force winds....wha???? Um, no thanks! I was planning on going out and finishing up some shopping today, but am scared off by the 16 degrees out. Yikes! I know- it's not that bad, it's just not normal for us, and I am not a huge fan of that temp. ;)

rethinking my day now!

Stamp Simply time!!

For this week's stamp simply the challenge was to make a quick card.
This card came together real quick-
Paper is from October Afternoon, Baja breeze mat. The sentiment is from Unity's Kit of the month...(September I think)
The snowflakes- Martha Stewart punch, then covered in glitter.

EPLS (in Buck language)

Thanks goodness for quick cards- The kids have gone in late every day they went to school this wee, and have started break 3 days early due to some major snow for our area- yikes- lots to do before Christmas comes and no time with them in school!!!!

Check out the rest of the girls

Hip HOP Hooray!

It's the last one for the year! It's a crazy time of year and I personally will enjoy having next Thursday morning to my kiddos and the tree! Yep, a week away! Where does the time go!??!

Don't forget to stop back in on January 8th for the first hip hop of the New year!

For this weeks projects, I mustered up the strength to make a few more holiday themed cards.... I did take a few days off from stamping though. The first one uses Cosmo (Oh Joy I think) some May arts ribbon, and of course, BUTTONS! ;)
The sentiment is from itty bitty tags.

The second is nothing new, but it's a tradition around here- so I went ahead with making a "formal" Reindeer Food Jar. Now I can have the kids make up the reindeer food (oatmeal & green sugar sprinkles) and get it ready for next week!
They love sprinkling it on the lawn- (how much longer will my 9 yo do it though???)
I used quite a bit a scor pal tape to hold that little reindeer on... ;)

And the last card- uses Cosmo again, but the first is the card with the snowman removed- I used craft glue dots to hold him on. This way the recipient can hang the snowman on the tree! The mittens and flourish are from the KOM.

oh- and if you would like to win a $5 gift certificate to Unity today....just leave me a comment here! ;)
Make sure to stop by NEW MOMMY Tami's NEXT!!!! She had a little boy yesterday!!!

Happy Monday!

Brrrrr.... It's a wicked cold 22 degrees out here today, and the high will be 29..... yikes. I think I will stay inside. School is two hours late since the roads are so icy. We are used to weather this cold.
On to the Monday challenge chicks- we went with a winter themed thank you. ( I think I saw this little guy in my back yard ice fishing this morning) check out the rest-
My card uses the jolly little winter, thank you words kit and October Afternoon paper, and the brads are by Making Memories.

If you end up making a winter themed thank you this week- post a link here so we can all see!!

Stamp Simply Celebrates day 12!

This is it folks! Last day of Sharon's two week long celebration!!

Today's challenge is to use just 2" of Patterned paper.

I said yesterday I am on Christmas card overload, but figured I better get one more in!

This is the Build a bauble set from Lizzie Anne Designs. The patterned paper is SEI. I used my Nestibilites to cut the circles, and my MS punch (that seems to be on strike!!) for the silver edge.

Make sure to check out the rest of the girls~

Hip HOP! It's that time...

ok- let me first say...I am about DONE with Christmas and stamps!! lol!!
I did manage to get one more card, and a layout- (Thanks Jess!!!) and I just had to switch gears and make a non holiday card!!!

The first card is a case of a card I saw on SCS yesterday- they cased it from the catalog...It's off in the mail already~I just loved the wispy flowers used like this!

The second card is one of my faves- I love these trees....and they are stamped on a SEI die cut. The green is also SEI and they are both sparkly- love it!
and the last project is a simple layout of my peanuts! Jess sent me this yummy paper and it just begged to be used for a page! {Thanks again Jess!!!} It uses bitty Christmas tags- I think I have abused that set this year. ;)
Sorry for the inferior lighting...hoping Santa brings me some lighting help....

Stamp Simply Day 11!

Whew- this has been a ton of stamping these last 11 days!! One day left after this!

Today it's my turn to offer up a challenge to you-
With the holiday season upon us and no time to spare, gift wrapping is taking a back seat in my house!

I have always enjoyed wrapping and making the presentation part of this gift! (this has since gone the wayside with the kids!!)
However- you can make tags to coordinate with your gifts- beautifully and simply- pick a design that is easy to duplicate and simple to work with- I went with this adorable snowman from Lizzie Anne Designs.
He requires minimal coloring, and I let the paper do all the work for me. A simple out line around with a copic, color in the nose, scarf, & hat- and it is set! I left the top area blank to write in a name. These tags didn't take up much time at all-simplicity is key!

Now lets see your tags!! You can use your wrapping paper to mat your design to help coordinate also. Make sure if you upload to SCS, you use keyword SSC08

Make sure to check out everyone else tags too- Heather, Janine, Dee, LeAnne, Jerri and Sharon

and stop by both Deb & Jerri's blog for prizes!

I added a few jewels from MAMBI to the snowflakes and the tags. Love those things!

Posted by Picasa
Today's challenge was to use Red, Cream, and snowmen.
Check out what Amber, (YEA!!- she's back!!!) Brooke, Jennifer, Jeanne, and Maren all did with this!!
I didn't color the snowman in for a reason....Brookie said the challenge was RED and CREAM only!! So I didn't want to "break" the rules this one time.
I used the cuttlebug on the background, and a MS snowflake punch with ruby red brads. Paper is Cosmo, (Thanks Maren!!) and the ribbon & button are from SU!
The picture seems washed out, maybe I will retake it....

Do you need a quick, but lovely, little gift for someone? Maybe your child’s teacher, an elderly lady from your church or neighborhood? Today Deb’s Featured Project is to make a gift of Note Cards, attractively packaged for gift presentation. She is also turning this project into a Challenge for you to participate in, allowing you to show all of us your creations. Be sure to check it out!!! There are sure to be so many lovely samples to inspire!!!

I used Lizzie Anne Designs Celebrations and Celebration Sayings, and also both of their paper lines. This box is a simple box that starts out at 10.5 x 12. Perfect for 4 x 4 note cards. I made 9 total, with one of each for a birthday, holidays, just because, etc.
When making several of the same card, or similar in style card, a simpler layout is nice. I followed the design through onto the gift box as well, the paper goes around all sides of the box, I spared you the pictures!!!;) The angel on the front of the box is covered with Angel Wings Shimmerz- love that color!

This will make a fabulous gift for my kids teachers.

Stamp Simply Celebrates Day 3

Party On- Day 3!!

Do you like to get a lot done, and quick? Who doesn’t!!! Tammy’s Featured Project today is a Mass Production Project, but believe me, when Tammy does it, it will not look mass produced!! Tammy also offers a Challenge today so you, too, can mass produce some cards quickly!!! Make sure to stop in at Tammy’s today!

Here is my take on Tammy's challenge-Cards that can be mass produced *and* using the color throwdown challenge colors of Pink, Green, & Black.

First task- decide on your design. I started with a pink card base (2nd picture) and didn't like it, so I went back and changed the base to Kraft. (1st Picture). Since we are "mass" producing these, we want to keep it simple, and able to slip into the mail easily. It is a struggle- keep it simple though, you don't want to sew, pierce, etc; on 100 cards! ;)

Next is to get your production line ready- I went ahead and cut all the card bases, layers, ribbons, and punched out the shapes needed. Punches really help simplify mass producing.
Start in order, and assemble- stamp all the punched out shapes, and attach brads. Adhere pink, green, & black layers together, and then to card front. Tie ribbons, attach sentiment with dimensionals.

Make sure to stop by the rest of the girls- Tammy, Sharon, Darlene, Leslie, Julie, & Barb

and.....Blog Candy can be found here and here.

Remember- anyone can play- upload to your blog and or SCS using Keyword SSC08- and link back up to Tammy.
