Spring Chick with JacksonBelle

Today's challenge was to make a spring card....and since I just got this cute little chick in the mail from Lindsey I thought I would ink it up!

I also went with the CAS challenge for the week....which I was very happy with the end result -however Buck decided to tell me that the dew drops look like poop since they are placed "behind" the bird! PLEASE tell me they don't! lol!!
ok, while I did laugh hysterically....I am thinking she maybe be right...

ok- paper is the new Pink Paislee, the bird is imaginisce, and the dew drops can be all found at the JBelle Store!

    It's spring break....

and it's supposed to rain ALL week. :( We have a ton of stuff planned to do...indoors.
Oh well- Our one month of summer should be here soon!

The Monday Chicks decided on hand cut flowers for today- and I soooo loved how my card from the other day turned out, I thought I would try my hand at making one of those lollipop flowers by Prima.

I actually like the flower, and making it was pretty easy- the overall card though...not one of my faves. Should have stuck with Kraft ;) Pastels do not work for me!

Make sure to check out the other girls!- Amber, Brookie, Jennifer, Jeanne, Jimmi, & Maren.

    Sunday is Simple Scrappin...

So here were are in week 2 of the Clean and Simple Scrapbook challenges. This week we are showing how you can use a card sketch for your layout-many of you wish for scrapbook sketch challenges, so here is a way for you to utilize those sketches out there-

    i love this clean start-

Here is my layout based on the sketch above - Both Jen and I did a hip hop card the other day (at the bottom) based on this sketch as well just to show how you can use them for both-

A little bit behind the picture- that is my daughter when she was about 18 mos and for whatever reason- she chose to go through the dog door to go outside- maybe since it was at her level, I don't know- The journaling reads- There are easier ways to outside, but this is the one you prefer...

and here again is the card from the other day using the same sketch.

If you choose to play along...(and why would you not?) make sure to upload using keyword CASSB02 and link back for us to see! (I think there is a prize involved again)

I still have stuff to sell, my husband suggested I link up some of the sets so people can view them. It's a tad time consuming, so I will do more tomorrow! ;)
They are all looking for a good home!!

I went with a clean and simple card for today- hope you like it!

    Stamp Simply- No rules!

Today's challenge was to mix and match patterns- NO RULES! ;)

I love mixing stripes and polka dots- so I paper pieced my tea pot onto yellow bitty dot paper, and matched it up with the green striped May arts ribbon from Sharon's blog- The paper is Memory Box.

Remember when uploading use keywords ssnotime80-

    It's Another Hip Hop

May Day Style!! Lots of stuff here to share today, I will try not to bore you! First- here are a few pictures of my Unity Friends-

Eryn, Angela, me, Jen Buck, and BROOKIE!

    Ang, me, and Maren-

Jen Buck, Ang, Jeanne, and I

and last but not least, this is my very close friend who is a million miles away in Thailand.
Who is coming home for a *few* short days this summer! yea!!

Angela suggested a May Day theme and the baskets of flowers was the first thing to come to mind- Mind you, there is a reason that baskets are sold already constructed!! ;)

I saw this adorable basket on Jody's blog who directed the credits to Laura. um, it's not that easy imo!! (I may have been having a headache still ;)
Well, whomever gets this basket is someone I *reeeeallly* like because it was sooooo time consuming!!! Maybe someday when I am feeling better and have no children around, I may give another whirl!
The paper flowers i made using various dies and punches, and the old fashioned technique of faux suede. A nice bouquet that will never die! ;)

My son thought he would tell me they are too "bunched" together, I need to spread them out! funny! The tag uses the flower from the KOM- Simple life.

Here is a fun little card- CAS- ;) I sooo love how this turned out-
and lastly I have a little candy basket- it's filled with cherry lemonade falvored lifesavers. It's a bigz template- blooms and baskets, I think- the tag uses the candy and part of the sentiment from the KOM- Simple Life.

Make sure to stop by Jimmi's blog next! Pin It Now!

    CAS strikes again

I am in love with silhouettes right now- maybe because it's quick and easy stamping. And the font in this sentiment- love it also! I have been not feeling a 100% these past few days- so I am going CAS today.

The flowers are from the March KOM- love them. I think this is a color scheme I use often- the black just makes the blue pop!

Busy stamping week, lots to get done- Still time to sign up for the blog hop- Many of you thought we were stopping at 200- the more the merrier we say!!

I still have many stamps for sale- and there is still time to participate in the first CASSB challenge- for those of you who are afraid to scrap, this is for you. We are focusing on showing you how easy it can be- Embrace the white space! ;) Stay tuned for the next challenge on Sunday!

    You're Invited!

Today's challenge was to make Kid's birthday invites...and challenge it was! ;) I actually went with using pattern paper and rub-ons to make mine. no stamping!
I don't really have any kid friendly stamps in my stash...or invitation ones either. Off to shop I suppose! ;)

So I went with Cosmo and snorkel. Kid friendly colors and fun patterns. I also gave this criss cross card a try- never did one before. Couldn't have been any easier....I will make more for sure!

Here is the inside- I used my trusty ol' printer for the invite part. When ever you are without the perfect sentiment/phrase- do it your self. ;)

check out the others- Amber, Brookie, Jennifer, Jeanne, Jimmi, & Maren.

    ALSO:

Don't forget to give the Simple Scrappin' challenge a try. It's for those of you who say you are intimidated by scrapping!!!!

AND- STILL have TONS for sale- I keep adding it as I find it....Just found a bunch of simply scrappin' kits- unused, and card kits as well- I am trying clear out what I no longer use and make my dh happy as well. Pin It Now!

    Simple Scrappin' Sunday!

Scrappin' clean and simple style! If you missed Jennifer's blog post today- go check it out!
We lean towards the clean style of things and wanted to show that you can scrap with out your page weighing more than the kid in the photo! ;)

    Check out her sketch here-

That white space is intimidating to some- not sure why, I love it!

I went with an easy peasy layout- super quick too. (partially because I spent the day at my parents and ran out of time! ;)

The photo is of my daughter when she was about 18 mos old and she had decided to pour not one, but two different kinds of cereal out onto the floor.
she was eating buffet style apparently. The picture still makes me laugh! she was SO proud!

ok- so, want to give your hand at simple scrapping? Well, Jen has some prizes she is offering up!
make sure to upload your layout using keyword CASSB01 at SCS, and link back to her blog.

have a great Sunday! Pin It Now!

tagged- and and updated for sale list-

I have been tagged by Valerie (whom is one of my stamping idols!) to post the 6th picture in the 6th folder in my picture files.
This is that picture- (it's probably a few years old now...should look at the date- I am in desperate need of backing them up and removing them from my hard drive!) This is just one of those random around the house pictures of kids- and that is my son who found it quite humorous to do bunny ears behind his sisters head!

Now these tagging games have rules and here they are:

•Open your photo folder on your computer
•Open the 6th folder of photos
    •Select the 6th picture
•Post the picture on your blog with a description

    Stamp Simply Lizzie Anne style

Today's Stamp Simply Challenge is to use ribbon tabs- Sharon has made several of these cards and rocks the ribbon tabs quite often- and she is selling some yummy may arts ribbon as well-

I fiddle with my ribbon tab several times before finally placing it where it is. This could work for last weeks challenge- white mats!

I just got some new swiss dot bazzill paper- yea! love it- already embossed with the swiss dots!
I stamped my houses with versamark and let them sit a minute to soak the ink through the texture.

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's way.....

Thursday is one of my most favorite days! While it is an egg-ceptionally busy day for me, it's also a fun one! Today's hip hop is a spring/Easter theme using COSMO!
Great group of people over there at Cosmo- they are fun!

Not sure if you saw the new KOM blinkies- everyone who signed up for the March KOM received some Honey Pie rubons courtesy of Cosmo!
Ok, onto the projects- It's an egg-stra special hip hop today...

So who doesn't love chocolate??? My husband found that he likes these Lindt white chocolate truffle things, so now, I need to hide them! He ate ALL the white ones!

I found this adorable little basket on Danielle's blog and thought it would be the perfect size for some egg-stra special Easter treats! It uses the new set- Love Ewe. I also used Cosmo's egg-ceptionally fun honey pie paper.

Here is a side view- you could easily fold the tabs in so they don't show, but I think it gives it that egg-stra little flair.
Here is a basic cas card- my favorite kind! ;)

and last is my TLC211 treat purse- this is egg-ceptionally adorable!
Side view shows the yummy reeses peanut butter treats inside!

    The front flap opens up-

Here is a close up, I covered them with fun flock- just a little for some egg-stra texture ;)
Make sure to hippity hop on over to Lynn Warner's blog!

and if you haven't signed up for the blog hop yet- it's one week away- there is still time!

I thought this little boat would be fun floating on the water- the wave pattern paper is scenic route I think- and the clouds are from an october afternoon page. The boat is stamped, cut out and mounted on the waves- I just cut a strip from the paper and trimmed around the waves-

Today's Jacksonbelle challenge is to case Kisa! I chose this card here to case.

When is spring going to arrive??

Really- it snowed again here yesterday, and that's not normal for our area. It's cold, windy, not springy at all and I am ready for some warm to come our way! I want spring!!!!!!! actually, I am ready for SUMMER! :)

My card today combines several challenges- the CAS06 which was to be inspired by baby shoes-
(a little challenging I may add) and for the Monday girls we wanted to do a Grandparents themed card. I chose these shoes here.

I opted for some bright and springy colored shoes- since I am not seeing any bright cheery weather here! If you have any sun, send it our way. please.

check out the others- Amber, Brookie, Jennifer, Jeanne, Jimmi, & Maren.
I think Jimmi may still have family in town and not around today though...

This weeks Challenge is to use white to mat your layers with! Check out Sharon's blog for the deets~
This is using Unity's March KOM- I LOVE this flower set- I believe Miss Jeanne made this one-
so very versatile! and I am going to try and submit this for this weeks CAS05- using blue and green, (brown is a neutral, right?!) I am enjoying those challenges!

Re-wind! it's time for hip hop!

I always get that black eyed peas song stuck in my head when I see Rewind!!!
Happy Hip hop thursday peeps! Busy day here for me- My son is in a musical at school today, so I am hoping to make it down to watch him and video tape it- might miss some hip hop chatting... That and my husband has a late start today- we always seem to be fighting to be on the computer when he is around...time for me to get a new one I think! ;)

    on to the cards-

This one uses the School Rock Star kit- (I am stuck with Kiwi this week- dang CAS challenges!!!)
    anyone else addicted to them?

The next uses gratitude = joy. This has been a favorite of mine for ever, I love these silhouette type flowers that are in it- kiwi again!! ;) Distressed dots on the kiwi panel, and the sentiment is from little buggers-
    and lastly...

not really sure if I like going out of my comfort zone...these colors are a tad bright for me-
went with you basic primary colors, what do ya think?

The letters are from making memories- this was a fun one to make- I can see myself doing more in the future, maybe in kraft though!

a lot of firsts around here...

    But first...my card-
This is another for the CAS this week- green and blue together. I colored the flowers in and then covered with glitter- a bit more jazzed up than my other CAS cards lately-
I still like it though! This is from FTL31.

I will admit, I am a bit biased. But I happen to think that this might be *the* cutest 5 year old out there. She just lost her first tooth. Even with her newly acquired gap, she is adorable!

I won't bore you with pictures of her first bike ride with out training wheels- I am sure that's not why you stopped by here!! ;) maybe another day though!

Head over to the JBelle Blog and check out the prizes ;)

Here is my take on the sketch- I used the basic grey bittersweet paper and an inkadinkado set found here.
Since I am in full on clean and simple mode lately- you get just that! (This may even work for CAS04!) Anyone getting tired of the clean and simple ramblings I offer???

    Happy Monday!

Monday Challenge Chicks time!! This weeks challenge is glitter! I LOVE glitter! ;)

My card uses stickles- star dust and cotton candy- I stamped the flowers right onto the porcelain paper, and just covered with stickles. Some flowers alternate pink and clear stickles-the stems are covered with shimmerz. Not sure if it shows how sparkly it is-

Check out the others- Maren is out this week- she is in VEGAS baby! and Amber is as well- she is in St Louis!

check out the others- Brookie, Jennifer, Jeanne, & Jimmi,

    We've Moved!

Well, not really! But some days it's a nice thought! That's probably the ONLY way I will ever get totally cleaned and organized around here! Who knew overhauling my office/stamp space would be such a night mare!!

This is a pretty simple layout- card is 4!/4 squared- paper is October Afternoon. The key is such a fun little charm- I am going to see if I can score a few more to hoard!

Saturday means no plans today- except my daughter has HUGE plans! Bike riding is slowly becoming her daily "thing" and yesterday she lost her tooth- the tooth fairy of course made it here and left her a nice treat for the very special first tooth! So, of course she would like to go spend her "cash money" as she calls it!
I however would like to clean some more- well not really "like" to, but I need to...

    Stamp Simply Embossing!

I will admit, being a clean and simple stamper I tend to shy away from "techniques"- and not that heat embossing is a challenging one, it's just not in my everyday habits! However, I do love it looks what I manage to dig out the heat tool! Sharon challenged us to pull out the heat tool and whip up a card-

I am still enjoying this new stamp from Unity- It will be used again in the near future as well I am sure!

    You + Me = Happy

That's the theme today- Happy Thursday!! Today we are sharing a bit about who make us happy- I of course will bore you with my family! ;) Prepare for a plethora of pictures!

Here are my husband, son, and daughter our last day in Disneyland-
and here we all are in Sea-World on my birthday. Seeing their smiles makes all the bad days worth it!

    Onto the projects! :)
This card uses Amber's sketch this week found here. Play along if you can! I stamped the cute little frog in bamboo leaves, and the sentiment and heart in riding hood red. Paper is Chemistry by Cosmo.

And here is my CAS self again! This could also again work for the CAS challenges 2 & 4. I am addicted, what can I say? ;)
My mini album- first pic is our family at Snoqualmie falls- My daughter was about DONE at the point of this photo- she was tired *and* cold!
This is my husband and I at Seaworld on my birthday- good way to celebrate it-
Picture on the left is of the two of us at a wedding a while back, and the one on the right is my husband in is training uniform at a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser, my son most certainly loves those events!
A long ago lunch date :) Journaling will be filled in later...
Again, another photo in Disneyland, those are my daughters cute little fingers playing "bunny ears", and the one on the right is at my bff (who now lives in Thailand :( house before she left.
We were having someones birthday celebration, and I can't recall was Jeff was shocked at, but it's a funny picture of us-
Jeff at a stop somewhere on his way during the Seattle to Portland last summer, and us a while back. I won't bore you with all the deets on this book- but I can say it used several Unity Kits, including today's release, a Cosmo book, and some Chemistry by Cosmo.
and last but not least- I made this for the MFW for the birds challenge- Paper is porcelain by BG, and that Sweet ZZZ's image worked perfectly together- I used several jump rings to give the look of the cage hanging.

    sorry if too many pictures!

head on over to Amber next! Pin It Now!
