I combined cas challenges as well- I stamped the flower images all over the top half of the card with versamark. {click on the image to make it larger}

hip hop unity celebration day 4!

day 4 and it's time to hip hop again!! I am a stamping machine this week! I think this weekend I will sit and do nothing!!

Lots of info today- check out Ang's blog for deets- in the scs forum- one new challenge posted, 4 new sets being released, one fun-fun-fun game, and hip hop with lots of prizes to be won!

I was feeling a bit blue this week- flower is feel the joy- covered them randomly with glossy accents. Anyone else get in habits like this where they use the same thing over and over....?
I have used the glossy accents on every card this week. Once i put it away- i will forget about it for months!

sneak peek- the journaling half circles on the right of the photo.

my baby! She was always such a smiling baby!! Here is a shot of her wearing her dads stocking cap hat-it kept slipping down over her eyes while she was playing play doh. I should have known then that she was going to be a bit headstrong. She insisted on doing things her way from day one!!! paper is all cosmo- brad is mm.

make sure to head over to Jen's blog next- Pin It Now!

Unity celebration day 3

and sneak peek #3 for you today...

I thought i would rough up my card a bit and distress the edges- I like how it turned out.
The image is from the soon to be release May KOM and the sentiment is from March's kit- simple life. I colored my flowers in and then covered the center with glossy accents.
*and* I used kraft. did ya notice there was no kraft on yesterday's card????

Hope you are enjoying the sneak peeks!!!

off to attempt some cleaning today- the laundry room has really special powers at our house- it magically doubles the dirty laundry in there.... wonder if i leave some cash in there what will happen???? Pin It Now!

and more tulip photos.... ;)
skip over them if you have had your fill!

Here is day two's sneak peek for you- the house and home sentiment. I also combined this with Christi's challenge for today. (and challenge it was!!!)
I paper pieced my house with mostly October Afternoon paper-- (the heart is Basic grey) Cut out the clouds from OA, stamped a flower from birdie inspiration, scalloped the bottom, and used a martha stewart butterfly punch for my bug.

Remember when uploading for today's challenge to use keywords: USAC2, Unity for a chance to be entered into the KOM free for a year contest!

and in case you didn't see enough....

more from the tulip festival- :)

I wont make you look at all of them- :)

I just uploaded all of these and now i need to order a few prints to hang.

We had such a busy weekend I thought I would share a few pics-

Here are the kiddos on opening day of fishing- my son caught one right off the bat- he had a good morning-

Here is my rookie fisherman and her new pole. We came out a bit after the boys did, she didn't catch anything, but had lots of fun! She loves her pole!

The next day we headed up to the tulip festival- it was a gorgeous day for it- everyone and their brother must have thought the same...the crowds were awful!!!

    aren't they gaw-jus!
and this has to be my hands down fave pic of the day! He is so handsome!

    another scrappy challenge

Ok simple scrappy gals! It's another Clean and simple scrap sketch!!!
Jen sent me this fun little sketch to work with the other day-

and I took the liberty or rearranging the title to work to my advantage ;)

Here is my layout- my adorable little girl at 18 mos. passed out completely at the bottom of the stairs. She must have taken one look up and opted to crash right there instead of attempting that many stairs!! Kids sleep in the craziest places! HI-Larious!

    - and how perfect is that fun little die cut from Cosmo- it says- "always be sure to get your beauty rest" Might even be more restful in a crib! ;)

Mostly all Cosmo here- cardstock & ribbon tab are SU!

    It's sneak peek time!

Whew- happy hump day! Today we are showing sneak peeks of Lizzie Anne's upcoming new release this Saturday!

This is from the Bless this nest set- I love how realistic the birds are. The flowers on the blue panel are from le jardin.
I thought I would go out of my norm and distress this a bit- the choc, kraft, baja, and card base are all distressed. I stamped the bird on naturals white, cut him out, and popped him up with pop dots.

and this is from the Garden Inspirations set. I love all the little sentiments in this one- great stuff! This is one of those sets you will grab often- very versatile! paper is basic grey, ribbon is may arts.

enjoy the rest of the sneak peeks! be back tomorrow with more! Pin It Now!

    It's official.

I do NOT like this card. I usually love CAS, but I don't like this one. I thought maybe if I changed the pattern paper I would like it....but I don't have time. Lauren has a dr's appt today that will take most of my day- so....hopefully you will like this card! :)

Today's challenge was 1-2-3. One stamp, 2 embellies, 3 layers total. (there was a debate on the card base being a layer, and indeed it is ;)

I used the imaginisce bird, daisy D's picture hangers, pink paislee pattern paper, may arts ribbon, cuttle bug embossing folders, and stickles.

    and were off.......

to another gorgeous week here! We had such great weather yesterday I opened all the windows in the house. Spring is finally here! ;) also went for a nice little run, a habit I have neglected for a bit!

Our challenge is to use woodland creatures- it seems that they have been quite popular in scrapping and stamping lately- owls, deers, beavers, squirrels, etc. I went with a QAE card-(quick and easy- not to be confused with CAS!!!!) the paper is from an SEI mat pack. I stamped the deer, cut him out and popped him right in the middle of the woods!

make sure to check the others out- Amber, Brookie, Jennifer, Jeanne, Jimmi, & Maren. Pin It Now!

    I am the only one....

Who has to say EVERYTHING at least 3 times before my kids hear it? And then....they say...HUH? so I get to repeat it yet again....please tell me I am not!

Ok- on to the scrapping- I sort of had this in my head all week and I think now the pattern paper in the back might be a bit too much, maybe should have went with white only....but since the challenge was to use pattern paper....I did!
What do you think? Maybe I will have another go at it later-

Here is the sketch- the challenge is to use pattern paper in your layout-
and my finished project- I thought that the black and white photo would work with the pattern paper...still not sure on the dots though. must be my affection for white space getting in the way!

make sure you give it a try and link back!

    Thread it through!

This weeks challenge over at Sharon's blog is to thread through- I went with a different approach than threading through the punches-I actually broke out a needle and thread!

but i did a very clean and simple card to make up for it! ;) I have been itching to ink up these new Ali Edwards stamps and finally found the time!! The paper is basic grey bittersweet-, brads- American Crafts.

And hoping that if my husband doesn't actually see this on here- I may be ahead for an anniversary card!

    it's Thursday!

today's hip hop is celebrating mom's today....

and in true fashion for our house, I am NOT in the picture. I have about 6 pictures of me...I keep asking for someone to take one!
This photo was taken during our spring break a few weeks back at the ocean- there is this long cliff of rocks, and of course my son had to climb all over and as far out as the cliffs went. This is the three of them before the climbing adventure.

Here is one I took of my daughter last night- she got a new hat and glasses, won't take them off!

    onto the cards... ;)
This one is a bit more than my normal cas self- and I like how it turned out- it uses Tiny Trinity, paper is basic grey.
This one is a one of my new fave sets! I love ALL the sayings that came with the birdie inspiration! I cased it from a card I had published in CARDS a while back-

and this one is WAAAAY out of my normal clean and simple, but....it's growing on me! ;)
It's from this month's DD sketch. What do ya think? I still like CAS better I think!

    thank God it's Friday!

Wow, what a long week. And a busy weekend ahead-

Today is time for stamp simply and I couldn't be happier!! I need a clean and simple card and I am off to nap! We are hanging things up today! Short post today-

I used Verve's Floral Symphony for this one- the 'hanging' tag is from SU!
the ink is tangelo- memento, and the brads are AC.
that's all for today! Have a fabulous weekend!

    barely hip hoppin'

Well it's safe to say I am tired of being sick! However, I do think maybe I might be on the downhill trend of being sick... I managed to get a few cards done for today's hip hop :)

Since we are having an Earth day theme today...I pulled out the eco chic to use! I love hip hop rewinds, they give us an opportunity to pull out all the great stamps that are lonely!

Here is the the little flower from the eco chic kit- the card is 4" squared. I cut the flower out and popped it up, and did the same with the center of it again, it also has glossy accents on the flower center and the leaves.

And lastly- this is a new image being released today for Earth day- Plant a tree. I stamped the image twice, once on white, and once on green. I cut the green tree portion out and popped it up on the white.

    Unity DT Spotlight...

This is the second post for today- scroll down for the first~

Today's my turn for the spotlight on Angela's blog- I finished the year in cards class for March over at 2 peas, and she has them on her blog- go check them out. Fun to try new things-

Here is another card that is a bit out of my normal range- I was starting off with the clean and simple challenge for the week, but it called for distressing, and.....well.....CAS and distressing don't usually work together- so I went a whole different route with it.

The paper is from Memory Box, and most of the stamps are from the KOM, fresh beginnings.

have a super day- hoping for more sunshine here! Pin It Now!

    JBelle Tuesday!

And today's JBelle challenge is white on white~ right up my alley! ;)

I inked up the Lizzie Anne set 'welcome home' and stamped it on the largest size label nestibilitie- Wrapped some may arts white swiss dot ribbon around the card, added a few white brads, and popped the label up on pop dots. Everything's better with pop dots.

If playing along- remember to use keyword JBE048 when uploading, and check out the rest of the girls:

Monday Challenge Chicks do Unity KOM!

This week, we went with inking up the new KOM from Unity- I can't stop using the girls in this kit-I just love the image!

I went with Kristina Werner's A year in Cards class for this layout- I love how she is so well loved and she calls herself simple, clean and quick- CAS does have a place in crafting it seems! ;)

Anyhoo- I did the ribbon frame from her class, and while I didn't seem to really like pomegranite, paired with Kraft I think it ROCKS! realllly love how the kraft tones it down.
She had an element popped up in the square, so I popped the dresses up on both girls- not sure if you can see.

Make sure to check out the other girls!- Amber, Brookie, Jennifer, Jeanne, Jimmi, & Maren. Pin It Now!
