I like cas too much!!!

It's Friday- and that means it's another Stamp Simply challenge using accordian folds- I reverted back to cas already! partly because I just like the images and paper toooo much!

My accordian card uses Everything Extraordinary, the Unity September Store kit, and Nutmeg papers. I LOVE love this kit- the leaves and acorns are sooo awesome. My card is 3 x 5 folded, and is just 3 basic panels- when opened, it will be 3 x 9. Using your scor-pal- just score on the 3, and then FLIP OVER and score on the 6. This will ensure your folds go the right direction!


Here is a view open- The left panel has an acorn stamped in pumpkin and cut out. I just poked a small hole in the top and strung some thread through- The middle panel has a few stamped images, and the right panel the acorns are again cut out- popped up with dimensionals.

Thursday is Unity day!

And I am giving thanks for being able to sleep in this morning. No school today- kids conferences. woohoo for me! and tomorrow also. I can turn my heated blanket on and stay warm finally.
Speaking of school....funny story. My daughter was playing with her friend (who's a boy) in my sons room yesterday, and I walked in and she had her cabbage patch doll stuffed under her shirt like it was a baby. So, I am curious, and ask her- what ya doing? Her reply- "playing school".
I was left sort of speechless. Not sure what to think on that...better than playing house I guess. ;)

Today's Unity day, and there is the usual fun going on, NEW RELEASES, bingo, chat, etc. make sure to stop in and check out all the action.

My card today was me trying to spread my wings and go a different direction. And, I am still debating on whether or not I like this card. It's Different though. The background uses the frame from the Birdie Inspiration set, and the sentiment is also from that set.
I think I will keep trying different looks, and give the cas a break for a bit....

wanted: long johns!

The weather has gone from jeans and t shirts to long johns and parkas in less than a week....yikes! it's fuh-reeeezing all of a sudden! And it just a few days, we get to put on our halloween costumes and head out in to the chill that is our weather for the next 6 months!


and our time with the most fabulous halloween holiday is coming to an end...here is just another fun card to celebrate the coming weekend!!

cas strikes again

Another quick clean and simple card today- this one is also from Lizzie Anne's Monthly Mix- Christmas Wishes.

Everyone should hopefully be happy at school and work today- my husband was released for duty today...he's been itching to get back to work! And my daughter has been having separation issues this last week at school... hoping for a no tears sort of day for her!

on to the card....
I added shimmerz to the angel, although, it does NOT show! It's tricky to photograph! Just another simple card to add the Christmas card pile! I added the MS punch which reminded me of the bottom of her dress....what do ya think about the blue in it?

Merry Halloween!

I only have a few more Halloween cards to share- but first I thought I would show this fun CAS Christmas tree card. CAS does not = plain and boring! so, sometimes I find that I can lean towards PAB instead, and am working on my CAS skills!


This tree is from Lizzie Anne's November MM- Christmas Wishes. I stamped it in green, and then highlighted each triangle with glitter sprinkled over glossy accents, and then used an orange jewel on each branch.

I think this design could be easily reproduced quickly if wanted. (i don't like to reproduce cards...one of my many quirks!)

Yes, TGIF!- it's been a long week! And next week is only 3 days long for us...(insert cheer here!!!) Kids school conferences = sleeping in. :)


Today's card is for Sharon's stamp simply challenge to be square- square is cool! ;)

I went with my standard square card size- 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. It's a great size to work with. Stamps are from Unity's October KOM, and even my button is square- although, round were allowed!
And, now, I have one more thank you card for my stash- you can never have enough of those!

wooo hoo for Thursday!

Happy Thursday! Today Unity is hosting chatting and bingo over in the Unity forums today!!
One week until Halloween and I need to get my fix in still for halloween cards...maybe a few after will be ok?? ;)

My card uses birdie inspiration- one of my most fave sets! the paper is Sasafrass Lass- pretty basic and straight forward. I hear there might be sales today also....

Today is my busy day-as busy as a stay at home mommy can get... I help in one of the kids classes, then a pta meeting, (b-o-r-i-n-g!) (Sorry if any of you are reading this!!!) and then off to buy food for the always hungry children. I swear I could buy a new car if i got a nickel for every time i heard- "I'm hungry"! Any one else have kids that think eating is a sporting event they place in?

It's that time again-

Time for the Lizzie Anne Monthly Mix! November's Mix is called Christmas Wishes

an it is packed full of fun little Christmas images!! I am doing Christmas cards CAS style this year- easy to reproduce if wanted, and mailed afford ably, although, I rarely reproduce them! ;)
(I can't stand making a card twice!!!)
I went with non traditional colors for this one- *and* I can't get this SONG outta my head now!!

Oh Christmas tree...

Oh Christmas tree....I am sooo not ready for Christmas! Usually at this time, I have some some shopping done, lots of ideas, and and ready for Christmas to come...NOT this year!

Anyhow- I can at least get ahead on my cards! This card uses Lizzie Anne Designs Oh Christmas tree, and the new Fanciful Flourishes. I thought the reindeer's antlers were similar to the flourishes, so I stamped another behind its head.

the card is only 4.25 squared, a fun size for mass producing cards-

Gate fold Autumn style!

Today's Stamp Simply Challenge is simply to do a gate fold- I can honestly say, I just don't do these! But I don't know why- it's pretty simple!

On the front of my card I made an autumn wreath with Flower Soft's Autumn Mix. I used 3 wires and intertwined them. After they were covered with the FS, I added a bit more to any spots that looked sparse. I ran the side panels through an embossing folder- can't remember the name of this one- something textile I believe-
My finished card size is 4 1/4 squared, and I did my two score lines at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8" using my scor-pal (the lines are already marked for you on there!!!)

I used the labels 9 nesties to make my focal point for my wreath, and then adhered it directly to the left panel of the card front.


Here is a view of the inside- I used Unity's Simple Blessings kit for the sentiment on the inside-
You could dress it up even more if desired- but I am happy with the end results here.

In honor of the upcoming Halloween (one of my FAVE holidays!) I will have a few more halloween cards to share. :) This one was inspired by impress. LOVE that store!

I don't actually have any of the new glittered MM tag maker rims, so I made my own.

So...using the new fanciful flourishes, and the Spooked set, I have one more Halloween card for my stash! ;) And speaking of Halloween...we pulled out ALL of our fun and creepy decorations...and my daughter decided she was afraid of them all. So...back in the box they went. no fun scaring the kids this year!!!

Today the Monday chicks wanted to do a masculine card....Well....I had this "guy" done for a bit and wanted to shared it before I forgot...so lets call this turkey a boy. ;)

The stamp set is Lizzie Anne Designs October Monthly Mix- A Harvest of Memories.


I stamped the turkey, then stamped him again and cut out his body to pop up. The black scallop edge is also popped up. The cardstock is Bazzill swiss dots- comes already like that! Love it!

It's a very Masculine Thanksgiving card, don't you think??? ;)

Stampin' Store Kit!

Welcome to the first official Stampin' Store Kit blog Hop! Today we are showcasing the store kit- Wonderful...you.
Short post- we are off to soccer in the gorgeous BUT freezing cold great outdoors, then off to enjoy the last rain free days here in the PNW!

For Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge this week we were to use Kraft (not a challenge at all!) and black! (again, not a challenge!) I paired it up with Friends with Flair Friday- kill 2 birds when you can people!

For my card- I used Unity's KOM which has this awesome phrase!! (Thanks sooo much Lisa!!) I had been struggling with my mojo a while back, so I thought to just use some fun pattern paper and ribbon and call it a day- My favorite cards are often definitely along these lines- QAE~


So.....those of you who normally don't so kraft- I hope you give it a try! It's my GO-TO color!!! :)

Day 2 of sneak peeks!!

At this rate I may get ahead on Christmas projects if I keep at like this!!

Today we are sharing the last 2 sets that will be released tomorrow over at LAD.


I used the DD Sketch challenge for this one- I really like how it turned out- This is using the new set Deck the Halls, and Cosmo's jolly by golly. By golly I like it!

This project is a candy bar wrapper- such an easy gift idea for the smaller wallets!! ;) I wrapped it with some oh joy (i think!!) and some awesome trim that I have NO clue where I got, but i LOVES it! Attached a few tags using the new Christmas Magic set and- EPLS! Done!

Lizzie Anne sneak peeks day 1!

That's right...day one means that tomorrow will be another day of sneaks! ;) But for today....Let's start with this Christmas card! Head on over to the LAD Blog to see the whole set!


The flourish is from the new set called Fancy Flourishes. The sentiment is from the Oh Christmas tree set. This flourish set has a fancy little flourish for anything!

This card uses the way up north set- and pink seems to be acceptable for holiday cards now...so I went with it! I really like how this turned out- I used the chunky MS glitter on my vellum and the border of my blue layer.

Embrace each moment

I just got the fun new Crazy for Daisies Incentive kit and had to pull it out to play! The sentiment is from Bevy of Butterflies.



The colors are so bright and happy! Not sure what the yellow paper is, but is fabulous!!! The red dots is Cosmo. I popped up a few of the flower layers and added some red flower soft to the center.
Now that I look at it finished, it seems a tad bottom heavy....maybe I will play with it and do some fixing! ;)

ETA: I decided to add a white layer to see if it helps balance it out-

ten minute mondays

Some days, 10 minutes is all you have! The Monday challenge girls decided that 10 minute Mondays would be the way to go today.


After my awful week last week, we pretty much did nothing all weekend and it was nice! I didn't even feel like inking up a stamp since my husbands accident- thank goodness I was ahead on a few projects!
So- back in the saddle with a quickie! This is from the CAS blog- ftl62. I will more than likely use this again! My paper is making memories, and the sentiment is from Lizzie Anne's All Hallows Eve.

YEA for FRIDAY! Today's the best day of the week, and it's stamp simply time over at Sharon's blog-
I have had a looooong and very challenging week so I am in need of this coming weekend! :)

Today's challenge to focus on numbers or letters is welcomed- it brought on an easy layout while thinking about what I was going to do! I stamped the alpha letters and punched them out, then stamped the branch over the letters after stamping off once.

Flower Soft Halloween Challenge

It's the first of the month and the Flower Soft DT are all using FS on Halloween cards!


For my card I used Lizzie Anne Designs All Hallow's Eve set. After I stamped my cat, I covered him with Black Flower Soft. I stamped the sentiments and punched then out to hang from the ribbon.
