new years eve unity thursday!

Happy New Years!! I am most excited to start the New Year! I am sooo ready to put the last several months behind me and move on! Who's ready for new starts?!

and- I always have some sort of best intentions on creating new habits, resolutions if you must-although that sounds so formal! ;) What if any new resolutions do you have?

I am working towards simplifying my life- less clutter, less "stuff", and purging anything that hasn't been used, worn, touched, read, been played with or seen the light of day in the last year! My stamp space is the first to get the once over!! anyone interested in helping??


Today's card uses November's KOM, Simply Magical. I just love the bright cheery colors in this paper- The letters are Making Memories, and the pattern paper & chipboard star is from Sassafras Lass.

Happy Hump day!

Were here for another KOM sneak peek! I managed to find a few minutes to stamp yesterday also!
I have been trying to clean my office- I am in desperate need of some re-organization of my stamps and paper- It's a HUGE mess. It takes me more time to find my stuff in there than the actual process of making a card does! New Year = time to purge!




I am not a symmetrical kind of gal, so this layout is out of the norm for me. I colored the pot with copics, and added some pale green Flower Soft to the leaves at the top.

whew. WHAT a weekend! We have had the busiest days off- so much for relaxin' and enjoying the time off!!
Today some of our Monday group has sneak peeks for ya...some are traveling home, and some are not responding to emails...(YOU know who you are!!)

I didn't have time to make a card with this fun image- however...I think Maren may have!

This is from a completley new set that is being released at CHA next month called a Noteworthy Occasion. (The background is the ledger background) It has a TON of awesome sentiments and frames to put it in! woo hoo for those of us who love the sentiments!

I sort of copied a layout of mine from a while back and mixed it up a bit- Never enough congrats cards laying around!

I gotta say...

I LOVE the holidays.
Love, *LOVE* LOVE them. But, I am soooooo thankful they are over this year. I usually enjoy the Christmas spirit in my home for at least another week, maybe two depending on how motivated I am. But this year, this year is the first year I have started putting Christmas stuff away on the 26th!

It's been a long couple of months around here, and I am ready for a fresh new start to the year! Bring it on! :)

and, here is a sneak of what's to come on the 1st...

The January KOM! Today we are showing sneak peeks of this adorable owl and sentiment- (there is also an adorable smaller owl that goes with it)

My card is a simple one today- I paper pierced the owl, added a strip of patterned paper, and some hemp. easy-peasy. I am hoping to get in my office again today for another sneaky peek for tomorrow!

Merry Christmas!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Today is our regular Stamp Simply challenge day- so we decided to post some CAS Christmas THANK YOU'S! Mine will be given to my husband who bought me a new camera lens- this is the first card I have photographed with it!! ;)

For my card I decided on Christmas colors- I hardly ever use them for the Christmas thanks. The present is from the LAD set Christmas Magic, the flourishes are from Fanciful Flourishes, and the sentiment is from Everyday Sayings.

I used American Crafts textured paper- and it is beautiful for coloring with copics- no bleeding or feathering! I high lighted the red ribbon with a gelly roll pen for a little added sparkle.

Have a holly jolly Christmas...

I always get that song stuck in my head when I use this sentiment! Today's Stamp Simply challenge is all about SNOW and CAS! right up my alley! ;)

I decided to use this older chipboard snowflake- I painted it white with MM paint and then covered with Martha's snow glitter. The sentiment is from Unity's Bright & Merry winter wishes. The top has a scalloped edge from the EK Success punch- can't get much simpler than that!!

Today is the last day of school for this year! {Insert joyous cheering here!} I am desperately needing the break with all the issues my little one has been having these last few months! I am hoping when she returns in January, she will have grown some...fingers crossed!! Today I am going in to help with making gingerbread houses and enjoy the holiday spirit! It will be so fun to watch- because I don't have to clean!

Unity Thursday!

It's that time again- Thursday! Thursday's are ALL about Unity! I decided to pull out my Donna Downey set again and play-

A clean and simple one, using Cosmo's nutmeg paper for my color inspiration. The sentiment is from a previous KOM- July's- A pocket full of.
I am actually giving this to one of my kids teachers for all they have done to help my daughter through her challenging time lately! Luckily, she has a rock solid support group!

I am thankful for only 2 more days of school and then we get to lounge for a while! We don't have any big plans, and I would like to just enjoy the holidays- I have a LONG list of things to do and get done, but if it doesn't happen, oh well!! That's the motto this year!!!

it's that time of the month again....

The time when Lizzie Anne Designs reveals their NEW Monthly Mix!! This months Mix is named 'From the Heart'.


I had to switch gears again away from Chirstmas cards...but it is nice, I am not nearly as sick of Christmas cards this year as I was last year this time!!

This uses the adorable love birds image and matching sentiment- The card size is a bit off, I used a scrap piece of Kraft, but I love the smaller different size.

The paper is basic grey, and the heart is covered with crystal effects.
I reallllly love all the fun images in this kit- lost of Valentine options!!

Happy Holidays!

Just not the Christmas one!! Today the Monday Chicks are doing Valentines- (2 months ahead, to the day!!) not because we are ahead on Christmas, or done with our thank you's, or any real reason other than we are moving on! So, yes, I will still be playing catch up with few more Christmas cards and tags!!



Here is my Valentine though....I went with a 4x4 size of Kraft, and layered some Cosmo Cricket. The stamps are all Unity, and the tag is Jenni Bowlin.
I wanted a splash of contrast, so I pleated some black may arts ribbon across. Again, stretching out of my normal space!

Store Kit Blog Hop!

Time for another Store Kit blog hop!
I am so in love with this months kit!! :)

I love all the sentiments in this months kit! GREAT sentiments!! We have been asking for some of those for a while now and these all rock!
I inked up the flower with red and green- still in the Christmas mode! Ribbon is May Arts, Gems are from MAMBI, and the paper is Making Memories.

Busy day today- Book Fair at Barnes & Noble, then 2 birthday parties...luckily, the ugly sweater Christmas party was canceled! ;)

Simply Repurposed

Wow- Talk about easy! Today's stamp simply challenge is all about re-purposing store bought cards- lucky for me- Sharon's easy with the interpretation!!!! I always just do photo Christmas cards, and I never save Christmas cards from the past- so....I didn't have many to choose from!

I was in JoAnn's looking for Christmas crafts for my kids to do, and walked down the WRONG aisle! They already had Valentines out! CRAZY! I had already decided when I got this boxed set of cards, I would use them in my own way- When Sharon's challenge came up, it was perfect!

Like I said, lucky for me, I can go with a different holiday-I will just be early for once with my Valentines! ;)
I used Unity's Be Owl Mine for the heart, and Love Grows for the sentiment. I added stickles to the hearts of course. ;)

The overall card is a little funky, and not my normal style, but I am certain that there is a 6 year old who will LOVE this and finishing off the rest of them!!

So....here is the original notecard set- It was part of a gift package I won at a raffle, and not quite my style, but as you can see- workable!

It's Unity Thursday again!

Wow- 2 weeks left until Christmas! I am hardly prepared!! And, what ever doesn't get done, no worries! This year we are just going to enjoy the time off!

I finally was able to find some crafty time this last few days...looking forward to more!

After all of my successful efforts to avoid Christmas card frenzy, I managed to squeeze a few in!
This first card uses Bright & Merry Wishes, and Christmas Bough.
LOVE the non traditional Christmas colors here!

This card also uses Bright & Merry Wishes, and I think the sentiment matches the paper perfectly!!

More Tags!

I love handmade tags- for some reason- I can make 100 tags and use them all- cards however, not so much! I am awful about sending cards! (sorry if I owe anyone out there a card in the last few years!!)

So- I made another fun little nestibilities tag- I don't remember what this one is...(labels something) I stamped Santa from Christmas Magic in black memento, and the sentiment in scarlet- Santa has Polar White Flower Soft on his beard and hat!

here's a close up- I left the space above the sentiment blank so I could write in a name. Topped it off with a button and some thread. QAE, or EPLS- whichever you say ;)

That's the name of today's challenge- the Monday chicks are working on thank you cards today!

We decided that we would all need thank you cards in a matter of weeks- YES, Christmas is right around the corner! ack- who is ready? I feel like I have a million things left to do! Including my own Christmas cards, and I am making thanks you's for after words first- that's just how I roll I guess!
I went with a simpler design I can reproduce, because just like Christmas cards, you need to reproduce many thank you's as well.
I used an unknown pattern paper- it has a pearly white sheen to it- I cut the bottom diamonds off to make room for my shimmery letters. it's finished off with a faux bow.

Tag it Pretty!

It's Stamp Simply time again, and this week we are working on making pretty tags that can be added to any gift bag or just to hang on a gift to let the recipient know know how special they are!
Now to me....it is all about the packaging, the simplest of gifts can be made to be the biggest deal when wrapped in a big production with all the trimmings and a fabulous little tag!

Now- I used this bottle of wine to hang my tag on...(I wouldn't use this image for a bottle of wine!!) The teddy bear and sentiment are from Lizzie Anne Designs Christmas Magic set. I think all of the images in this set are perfect for tags actually!!!

Here is a shot with just the bear- I stamped him on shimmery white paper with memento ink and colored in with my copics. Add a think layer of glue around the edge and some glitter and you have an extra special sparkly tag ready to go!

hello my name is....confuzzled!

Welcome to another addition of Unity Thursday!! In an effort to get a head start on some much needed 'Thank You' cards, I am skipping Christmas ones! ;) just kidding!

I do like to be on the ball with thanks you's though, otherwise, I tend to fall behind and that's not a downhill spiral I prefer to avoid!

First up is the November Scrap book KOM- That stamp is fun-love how you can add anything in the blank.

and it would appear I really have my holidays mixed up now! ;) I just love this image from the November KOM. I added glossy accents to the red hearts, and brown pearls next to the sentiment.

Flower Soft December Challenge

Happy December 1st! It's officially the holidays, and I am officially not ready for them!
For this month's Flower Soft Challenge, we are creating a holiday themed project- Something to help get you all in the Christmas mood!!

For those of you who steer clear of flower soft because of your CAS style- I am here to show you it works with CAS also!
