Flip Flop!

Hip Hop Flip Flop!

If you haven't noticed, we have swapped out spots with the Ippity girls and the Unity team is using Ippity today!!

Woo HOO! I *finally* managed to get a Hip Hop Sketch challenge done!  This is for HHSC26.

I used the Burlap background on the blue and yellow, and a back ground image from Authentic Man by {ippity} on the green and red strips.  The card and sentiment is also from the Authentic man set.

Next up I was feeling festive and pulled out some older Cosmo.  That bird on the fence was screaming Haunted to me- It totally reminded me of that line!  This is the Totally Happy set from {ippity}.

I cut a circle nestabilities and stamped the fence in tea dye ink and used a marker to color in the bird on the stamp prior to stamping.  The ribbon is May Arts from the Stamp Simply store.

I love being able to make holiday projects using non holiday stamps....

and if you are interested in winning this...leave me a comment telling me your favorite way to turn NON holiday images festive!

Make sure to head yourself on over to Shemaine's blog next!

Enjoy!!

AWESOME AWESOME take on the sketch and totally love how you did the circle in kraft as well-gorgeous! The birdie card is fantastic, too-what a great tag you made for it!

You can make any non-holiday stamp more festive by just using the colors of the holiday to make it seem as if it was made for that purpose. I always say "think outside the box" to use what you have on hand and make it work.

Amazing and super inspiring Ippity cards. I would use holiday colors, dry emboss the image or even use holiday dp and stamp the image on it or paper piecing. Great question to win this amazing set. Please don't add me to the giveaway. I love love love Unity stamps, but I have that fun set.

Fantastic cards today, AJ!!! Really love what you did with Authentic Man!

Let's see, non-holiday holiday cards. I use traditional Christmas colours (red & green, sometimes adding either silver or gold) and make it sparkly. Glitter, stickles, embossing...just make it shine.

I use seasonal colors and some embellishments that may add something seasonal to the project. The cards are so neat. The paper and the bird did make the card look like spooky. I love the card and sentiment. Awesome cards. Thanks so much for sharing.

The easiest thing I do is to create a seasonal color palette and incorporate festive designer papers. ;)

People recognize colors for holidays more than they do the images. So play up the color.

Hi AJ,

Love your cards! I love how you made all the paper patterns on the first cards with stamps! Or at least, I think you did so. Ha ha! And that bird on the fence is very very pretty!!
You asked how I would love to make a project festive, without holiday stamps, well, that's more easy to me, than with holiday stamps, because I almost never like them, ha ha!! Except for the sentiments then! Those butterfly stamps for example would be perfect for a holiday christmas card, esp. the black one on the middle in the right, I would stamp it in dark blue maybe and then put some glitter emboss on it and that pretty swirl in the middle with silver emboss and then combined with layers of white, silver and dark blue paper! Oeh, I see it in my mind already, ha ha, so I would love to have a chance on winning this pretty set to make the card for real! hi hi! Thanks for this chance, dear AJ and a wonderful day to you!

Hugs,
Wendy

Love these!
And the second image reminded me of halloween when I saw it for the first ime as well! Although I have yet to use it for that!!

I usually try to create the holiday with the DP and color!

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the chance! My favorite way to turn Non holiday images festive is to either literally turn them and sometimes different shapes come out or only using part of the stamp or even embossing it.

Thanks again!
