It's a Fabulous day! No Foolin'

WELCOME Back!

Hip Hop is back!! We are releasing 3 new sets today- make sure to head on over to the Unity blog for all the info and details!


I decided to make a few using my beloved Spellbinders Nestabilities! ;) Make sure to stop there as well today ;)

First up is a card using the new Singing Souls set. The paper is from Sassafras, and uses the long classic rectangle, classic scalloped oval, and classic oval nesties. These 3 sets are only available for sale from Unity for ONE month- then you can find them at your fave LSS after that.


Next is one of my favorite sets- Soiree's and Such. It's AMAZINGLY versatile. I actually had more ideas than time. ;) I cut the inside of the glass and popped it up, then covered it with glossy accents. Paper is Basic Grey, Labels 8 nestibilities, and jewels are from ZVA.

Lastly is another new "go to" set- Inside and Out. Sentiments for the inside and out of your card.

A sketch and a farewell-

It's Wednesday- hump day! And day 3 of our break- the kids aren't sick of me yet! There is still a few more days though... ;)

I have decided to step down from the Lizzie Anne Designs team- Today's post ends my run with them. I have enjoyed my time with them, and all of the super gals on the team and will miss them all!! Things are far to crazy here to continue the way I was, and had to let some things go.


I wanted to make sure I used this adorable bunny image from last months Mix- Lucky You.
My card inspiration comes from this weeks sketch over at 2S4Y. Such a fabulous sketch!!

I colored my white ribbon with a C-3 copic to match my bunny, and the paper is October Afternoon-thrift shop.

spring break- day 2

Spring Break, day one

If I don't post some sort of update by weeks end, send for help...my kids may have me tied up in the closet! ;)

Actually, I am looking forward to some down time this week, and maybe some fun day trips if the weather cooperates. I am also hoping to get some mass production cooking done. Fix and freeze style- when ever I have extra time I cook dinners in massively large quantities and then portion them out and freeze them for another day. Soccer and track season here- It's nice to have that part done already!

And of course, it just occurred to me that Easter is less than a week away- so I need to get some stuff ready for Easter also this week... so much for down time!

I do have my Chocolate bunny already...


Here is my safe version of a chocolate Easter bunny- It's calorie free!! And, it's already missing the ear tip ;)
The patterned paper and chipboard pieces are from American Crafts, and the ribbon and button are from PTI. I added a little glitter to the blue egg using stickles.

To New Beginnings...

Today's Stamp Simply Challenge is all about Easter, or, more generally speaking- New Beginnings.
I chose new beginnings for a few reasons- one being today, we lay yet another officer to rest. It's been an extremely challenging and long several months here dealing with all these deaths in the law enforcement field. Here's to new beginnings- for all.

I found this great color combo while blurfing a bit ago- I can't remember where now...I love mixing unsuspecting colors together, and this one was not your norm combo. The stamps are from several kits- the flowers and grassy image are from bevy of butterflies, and the sentiment is from last month's KOM.

From the bottom of my heart...

Back to school! Some times it is nice to have the kids home, but then we are always off and running, and the stuff at home falls behind big time! So, now time to get caught up around here-before spring break hits in 3 days!!

I decided to use the sketch from PC Mag's last call for my card today- I didn't get around to making the other one with the circle- may play with that one as well!!


I got some new Pink Paislee papers from Eclectic Paperie this week and thought they would be fun to break out!! (I got the ribbon also, will play with that today hopefully!!) The sentiment is from Lizzie Anne's Card Quotations set.

so not my fave colors...

So Amber threw down some colors this week to use- and they are so NOT my fave colors when she said them...Turquoise and Pink- However, I am digging the outcome!


So, I went with a Kraft base, and stamped the fun floral background image from the Scrapping Kit in pink. The paper is October Afternoon, and the gems are from Kaiser.

We are out of school today and tomorrow for school conferences...yesterday we watched Diary of a Wimpy kid- my son LOVES that series, has literally read each book like 12 times! Today will consist of some cleaning and just hanging out...my favorite sort of days!

Happy Thursday! You know what that means...It's Unity day!

I had about 3 different projects started yesterday, (too many ideas at once isn't always good!) when my scrap kit came!! I dropped EVERYTHING to play with it! And look....


Isn't he handsome?!??! This picture was taken last mothers day in Seattle. I love the green door backdrop- I used to get more pictures of the kids- I really need to get back into carrying my camera around everywhere.
the paper is from Crate- comes in the amazing scrapbooking kit. Seriously- this scrapbooking kit is so awesome- I had too many ideas in my head when I opened up!

Speaking of camera- my daughter's first day of soccer is today and then my son has his school concert after- off to charge the batteries and find my tripod!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Happy St. Patty's Day to ya!

We take St. Patty's day serious around here- the corned beef and cabbage dinner is on already!
It is a FAVORITE dish of my kids- my daughter's favorite part is the cabbage! She's a weird one that kid! They start counting down the days until St. Patty's day dinner in February!

Stampin Store KOM Blog HOP

Good Morning-
Happy National Craft Month! In honor of National Craft month, I am spending a few hours at my LSS doing a Unity Stamps Demo- if you are in the area, stop by!

On to my card- It's the Unity Stampin' Store kit blog hop time-

I love that sentiment- and the tree, isn't that a fun image to color in or paper piece with?



I went with a paper piecing technique for my tree. I stamped the tree several times onto BG's Sugar Rush paper and cut out specific paisley shapes. I colored in a few of the paisleys and the trunk with my copics, and added a bit of stickles to the pink flower.

Beate and I decided to challenge each other to an opposite style card of our usual! She is doing a LOT less layers than she is used to, and I had to add a few!

With my card base, I have 5 LAYERS! However, her card is fabulous, and her card from yesterday was a OLC as well- I think we have turned another to the CAS dark side!! (Insert evil laugh here!)

It wasn't that bad, I still managed to pull of a CAS look imo! ;)

It's that time again-

Happy Thursday!
At least it is here... After months of my daughter having issues with her class, today is her last day in that room! She is going to move across the hall for the remainder of the year! YEA! She's pretty excited and hopefully this will help with some of her anxieties.

I know that today is Unity Thursday, but I deviated a bit.....


I used the adorable Ippity set Moon Beams & Heart Strings. I just love that set! I decided to play with the fun banner paper from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy line. It's so very springy and cheery- LOVE that stuff!
And...this could go boy or girl with those colors.

I got these adorable new stamps by Asela in the mail and finally got to ink them up!

Isn't that bird just adorable?! I went with the Cosmo paper color scheme and used my nesties. I colored the image with my copics and added a little Kaiser gem to the flower middles.

I have made HUGE progress in my office- new shelves went up yesterday! I am working on organizing them today and some stamping of course- lots to catch up after so nay days/weeks of cleaning and organizing!

I just had to tell you....

What a busy weekend I had!
I am in the process of cleaning and reorganizing my office- (this is a major overhaul that is taking over my crafting time!!) and then we got my son a new bed, which involved more cleaning and organization...
which lead to very little crafty time!
soo- hoping for some crazy busy craft time this week! ;)

Happy Saturday! It's a GORGEOUS day here today!

I have a card for you today using the Lizzie Anne set Lucky You- it's the current monthly mix-check it out here.

I used a wide piece of May Arts striped ribbon to break up the white on white layer which I ran through the cuttlebug. I colored the flowers and covered them with glossy accents.

I feel a bout of spring cleaning coming on today- the kind where you open your windows and start clearing out all the untouched items from the last 6 months!

I went with an almost OLC, and used NO ribbon WHATSOEVER!

I used my Donna Downey set from Unity- Insightful Meadow. The sentiment is from A Noteworthy Occasion.

I punched the edge, and added a strip of Material girl on the inside and 2 brown pearls on each side of the sentiment. I was going to add some ribbon- but I decided against it, thought it would take away from the simplistic design. Shocking, right?!

Unity Thursday again

Watch out! I scrapped again!

I used to scrap a lot more often, and do every once in a while still, but since I am a cleaner, less is more type of chick, I didn't share them with you as much- My CAS style whether it be cards or mini books or layouts isn't that popular, so I never bother.
That being said...

I am over it ;)

And how cute is that adorable little girl??!!!
I tell you- she is the reason I need to be better about scrapping- she says the craziest things, and she has her own fun quirky personality that I am in awe of most days.

In this picture she was about 2 years old. Rain boots, tank top, pink floral pants, dog leash in her mouth, and dog collar as a belt. (She still has quite a bit of punky brewster in her)
Then top it off with her cute little head tilt post! priceless- when she is 13 she is going to sooo not want to see this! ;)

Love makes a house a home...

Happy Hump day! I was looking at the calendar yesterday in amazement of how fast time seems to be flying by! The kids only have 3 1/2 months of school left!
March is here, and before you know it...it will be the holidays again!

I am trying to get back into scrapping- I have found a ton of new amazing inspiration for simpler layouts and am anxious to get back at it! Need to organize my photos next!

It's March. ALREADY!?
Some times Monday's are my favorite day. The kids head back to school and the house is mine again. Well, mine and Axel's. ;)

This is the chair he has claimed.

Ok- so, I know so many of you read the Pioneer Woman Blog- How many of you actually use her recipes? I try as many as I can. Drip Beef. The name alone was soooo enticing.

I sort of followed the recipe- (that's usually how I roll anyways) I added beef bouilon and the italian seasoning, but not the pepperoncini's. Only because I didn't have any. That was all though, and can I say- this is a NEW family FAVE. my son and husband LOVED every bit of it. It totally fell apart in your mouth! Have you tried any of her recipes that you want to recommend?

ok- Yep, I did stamp this weekend. Mostly cleaned and organized though. I am selling my Big Shot if any one is interested- and ALL the dies/spacers I own that go with it as well. $100.
I am thinking I will probably use my new Wizard more now!! ;)

back to the card-
Today's challenge was to use ribbon. Pretty easy peasy one. I did use ribbon, just not a ton! I used the NEW dear Lizzy Fabric Backed paper for my card. (That happens when you clean, you find those piles of things "to use"!) American Crafts is one of my FAVORITE paper companies. LOVE LOVE it!
This is one of my go to layouts for cards. I think I have more cards with this layout than I do card stock!
