there's no break in this summer!

Welcome to FWF and Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge! Today's challenge is a color challenge to use grey and yellow.
Head on over to Sharon's blog to read all the deets and to see her fabby sample!

I went with the October Afternoon version of yellow...and it's a tad on the orange side, but I like it! I don't usually mix patterns too much, but these seem to work, at least I thought so!!
I used my Spellbinders™ dies to make my circles, and the sentiment and background image are both from the June KOM.

Hippity hop ya don't stop!

Welcome to the first official day of summer here in our household...and Hip HOP!
Of course I didn't get to sleep in- we had extra kids over and a final farewell luncheon to attend today.

I thought I would share a clean and simple little layout.

I love how this turned out, but I know it needs more journaling. The date stamp is from the Scrapping Kit Favorite things. The large border scallop is from Spellbinders™.

Any fabulous summer plans? we have lots- I actually think we may not ever get a break!!

I also have this up for grabs- leave me a note and I will post the winner tomorrow!

School's out!

Sorry for my absence lately...Today is the last day of school! We finally have been getting some nice weather here and are finishing off soccer, art classes, volunteer luncheons, field trips, science club, 5th grade celebration, pta events, field day, etc, etc.

Lauren and her field day painted face

Yesterday my daughter got to meet her *new* 1st grade teacher. After ALL the issues she had earlier this year, she is finally happy and loving school. She is actually not wanting a whole summer break!

Will, enjoying his field day Popsicle and class shirt

And my son, is finally going to be a 5th grader. Top rung. King of the hill. all that sort of BMOC sort of thing...he's excited also. He is contemplating all the activities he is going to participate in next year.
I am pretty lucky to have such awesome kids! :)

Enough blah blah blah! In my non mom time, (which hasn't been much lately!) I have been super busy working on CHA release stuff- lots of great things coming up! :)

I will be back tomorrow with Hip HOP!

Welcome to another round of FWF and Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge! Blog candy winner, & a mini tutorial for you as well!

Today's Stamp Simply Challenge is the to finish an project you have previously started. We all have those projects where we left it to come back to another day...
Head on over to Sharon's blog to read all the details and see her sample.

Here is my final card...I did start this a while ago- I received a comment asking about making the shaped cards using your Spellbinders™ dies and thought I would show how I do it. Don't you love how my circular card stands on it's own? ;)

I had the base layer and paper done a while back and figured now was a good time to finish it off!

First- Here is how I lay my card stock in the Nestabilities™ die before running it through my Wizard™ Make sure to leave a gap and the top- this is where your fold is.

When you open it up, it will look like this. I cut the bottom piece flat across for a reason...

Then I proceed to make my card front using the WHOLE shape, then securing it to the card front.

This is what the back will look like when it's all put together. The cut at the bottom allows your card to stand up as a normal A2 shaped card would. ;)

I'm still here!!

You know how life gets a little crazy and things start piling up, and you fall a wee bit behind...
Well, I think that may be my life for the next month! ;)

I have been working on re organizing my office and it has taken over it seems...and it's the end of the year, lots of sports to finish up, field trips, luncheons, celebrations, parties, yada yada yada.

So I did manage to get a card done using a Gina K set!!

This is Cosmo and Sung from the heart. I used my Spellbinders™ dies and tattered angels to die the may arts ribbon the color I wanted- it totally coordinates with the paper!

And my bff has finally returned from Thailand this week...as soon as things settle down around here we are going to try and catch up.
One more week of school left here, and then I am sure that busy running around for school stuff will shift to busy running around to play dates and hopefully days spent at the beach! ;)

Hip Hop ya don't stop!

Here we are again, Thursday and HIP HOP!

First up is a card from the new KOM Fly Free. The paper is BG and the ribbon/thread is May Arts.

and second...NOT my normal style, but thought I would give it a whirl! There has been lots of chatter lately about these newer images Unity is putting out, and while I may not have thought they were my thing, now I am thinking I am loving them!

and I still love CAS, but it's nice to venture out of my normal style once in a while! ;)
I used the S4-210 Lattice Pendants die from Spellbinders™ for my little doily like thing, and inked the edges up with some chai ink.

and in true Unity fashion, I have blog candy again! What's your style? And what do you look for when you come here? CAS, new stuff, or free stamps? ;) THIS is up for grabs!!

today is the day...

in which my kids head back to school after 4 days off!

just a small taste of what's shortly ahead- hopefully with warmer weather and less rain though...
they are just itching to get outside and RUN!

So, I decided to make a clean and somewhat simple card using the new Brave Girls kit. I mentioned before how this kit challenged me and I actually *LOVE* how this card turned out!

The yellow paper and teal ribbon were just begging to be paired together- such a great color combo!

off to stamp- need to get my hip hop projects ready for tomorrow! ;)

Jumpin' on Delovely bandwagon

Whoa! Happy June 1st!
This is the first time in 4 days I have been able to finally stamp! I got new goodies and finally the time to play with them!
We didn't go away for the Memorial holiday...(Mother Nature wouldn't allowed us to if we were wanting to.) Anyone else having bad weather issues in their parts of the world? I know this much- there will be no droughts here this summer.

I used a few Unity stamps paired up with this fun Cosmo paper. I love how happy and bright this paper is, something we could totally use around here. (Are you listening mother nature?!)

I am home with the kids today with several play dates lined up...hoping for relaxing day to start off our three day school week!
