Not LONG enough!

The weekend- so NOT long enough!  But, I am feeling like a million bucks these days and thinking I may finally be done being sick!!

Quick fly by post today- I am finally getting busy on THIS call.  Have you started on the Go to Sketches for cards yet?  Mine are #38 and #58.   I have seen a few friends sketches in there as well and hope to get to a few of them!

Here's a quick shaped card I made a bit ago and haven't yet shared-
I love that bright pink and yellow combo.  It's very happy and springy to me- a nice change from our week of snow and freezing temps.  Hurry warm weather please!
Stamps are Gina K, and the dies are Spellbinders.

Off to create!!  Good luck choosing a sketch to start with!! Pin It Now!

Happy Thursday!!

It's hip hop today- and I am sharing a layout!!

I made this for the Spellbinders DT contest.  Did you see THIS!?

I have always scrapped for me, but haven't been in the habit of sharing it on my blog before...But I plan on doing a bit more scrapping for me and sharing it!

I lean towards a bit of a cleaner style in my scrapping.  One thing I can NOT pull off is layers and fluff in layouts!! I am starting to see more and more cleaner layouts, and am feeling more comfortable sharing mine.
Here, I stamped the Grainy background first to mimic the wood floors in the pictures.   This picture was taken about 4 years ago when she would still let me put dresses on her!  Now- she is a Punky Brewster styled fashionista and is pretty hard headed about her wardrobe.  Yea me- the teen years should be fun! ;)

Also- have you started working on the Go To Sketches for cards call??  Mine are sketches #38 and #58!!  I haven't yet started myself, just not enough hours in the day!  Looks like a crafty weekend is ahead!

Make sure to head yourself on over to Brooke's blog next!

playing catch up...

So, I have been miserably sick, and now that I have started to feel better, I am WAY behind in all things crafty!

Sharing a few photos from Gina K's latest release party I missed out on due to a PTA meeting.

Live Life Loud- Tami's new set-

Live Life Loud again- part of my mini book I am working on -

and Christ is Risen- Nina's new set.

Working on my mini book has me thinking a lot about what I create lately and have been itching to get back to scrapbooking.  The 'for me' style, as in using anything and everything I like, the Ali Edwards style of just "getting it on the page."
I am hoping to get more scrapping done-if I am going to be spending time creating, I want it to be something for me, something my kids can appreciate.  They have been loving the project life- and look forward to seeing what pictures end up in the book.  I love making cards, but then I end up with BOXES of cards- for some reason I never get them out in the mail to anyone- and then I end up donating PILES of them!

Anyone else wishing they would scrap more?  What's holding you back from doing it?
And what's everyones preference- mini albums, 12 x 12, 8 1/2 x 11, (one of my faves) or something else?

Gina K Sneak Peek day 3

Today I have two more Sneak Peeks from Gina K’s newest release.  Be sure to catch all the other samples from the Design Team today  – and be sure to join us at the Release Party Thursday night over at StampTV

First is a card using Nina's new fabulous set Christ is Risen.

And using Tami's new ROCKIN' set 'Live Life Loud' I started a mini book of one our many rock band parties- The family gets together often to play, and sometimes we throw a theme in to mix it up as well- this one is just a calm event this time! ;)

Here is the next page- My daughter loves to play all three instruments.   Here she is rockin' the guitar- I added some black diamond stickles to the guitar, seemed like the appropriate blingage for the guitar- every rock star has a decked out guitar, right?
I love every element in this set and am certain I will use and abuse this set!!

Here's a close up of the detail on the guitar- looks just like ours!

Make sure to check out the rest of the girls projects today-

Gina K Sneak Peek- day 2

Today I have two  Sneak Peeks from Gina K’s newest release.  Be sure to catch all the other samples from the Design Team today  – and be sure to join us at the Release Party Thursday night over at StampTV!
For my first project, I decided to make a Easter Treat basket using Asela's new set Chocolate Bunnies.
I followed the SCS tutorial for this easy peasy little basket, adding chocolate eggs inside.  I don't know why I didn't try this mini treat basket sooner!

Here is a close up of the image and sentiment.

And for my second sneak, I used Theresa's new set Little Critters.  I scored the green piece at an angle using my Scor-Buddy before adhering the fern image stamped onto the S5-025 Labels Seventeen.  I finished it off with some ribbon and the sentiment stamped in white pigment ink.   LOVE the colors on this one!

Make sure to check out the rest of the team sneaks for today!

Spellbinders Nestabilities™ Basics & Beyond Blog Tour

Welcome to day one of the Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Basics & Beyond Blog Tour!

If you haven't head about this book yet, it's filled with fabulous ideas, great techniques, and tutorials to teach you some of tricks of getting the most out of your Nestabilties die templates!

I get the pleasure of reviewing the one and only Stacey Caron's projects for you today!

Here is her whole ensemble.  Upon first glance, I thought the rose was a prop...But it's NOT!  The rose in the photo was also created using Spellbinders dies, and there is a tutorial in the book for making it.
Stacey shows just how easy it is to create a hand made ensemble that can be a cherished gift item making the recipient feel special.  The book offers detailed descriptions and directions to help guide you along to create your own projects, or to simply make the ones shared in the book.

Her color scheme is such a classic and can be used for all occasions, not just love.  I decided to make a card based on her color scheme using Spellbinders S4-161 Labels One and S4-308 Labels One SM.

To create this card I used the new S4-308 Labels One SM#3 (the smallest is #1) to die cut the cream paper, and stamped a flower.  I die cut S4-161 Labels One #3 with red paper.  When layered, the two die cuts mat in 1/8” increments.  Add a red rhinestone to the flower center, add a bow to the card and attach the labels to the card.  Thanks for the inspiration Stacey!

The other great thing about this book, is all the tutorials and directions for creating your own projects.  On page 5, there is a tutorial for creating shaped cards, one of my favorite ways to use my Nestabilities.

Here's an open view of the shaped card, showcasing the beaded circles edges.

Samantha Walker Creative Team Blog Hop

Welcome! to the monthly Samantha Walker Creative Team hop!

I am sharing a few cards today using her Creative Imaginations lines.

I used Samantha's Cowgirl line for this first card- The Rodeo Girl paper is double sided, and I used the reverse to break it up, and then used one of her chipboard stickers.  These things are sooo cool!
and here is a close up of that chipboard sticker-- the horse is covered in flocking material!
 You can find them here.

And since I have a girl and a boy, I needed a boy card- This card uses the Cowboy Line- the paper is called Ride On, and the chipboard sticker can be found here.

Lastly- I made a very clean and simple card- and I just love it!  The spring colors, and the simplicity just make me smile!  I think this may be from the Cotton tail collection- the paper has brightly patterned eggs all over it, and I simply cut them out, and mounted them onto a Spellbinders square using foam tape.  The striped piece is from another sheet in the collection.  I sooo love stripes- I want to use this cheery paper on everything!!

Make sure to head on over to Smantha's blog- I believe there is a giveaway! ;)

Next on the list is the oh-so-amazing Karen!
