CardMaker Blog and Gina K Designs Stamp TV hop

Hello- Happy hump day- today the Gina K Designs team and the CardMaker Blog team are sharing projects using Gina's newest Spring Parade Stamp TV kit!

I just LOVE the fabulous bright cheery colors of this kit.  I started with a card base in the color of Turquoise Sea, and paired it up with some of the orange patterned paper that comes with the kit.  I die cut the rounded rectangle, stamped the sentiment and flower, and popped it up on the card with 3D Foam Squares.  I then finished it off with a few sequins.

Make sure to head on over to Carolina's blog next!!  Also, at the end, Gina K is giving away a $50.00 gift certificate to her store over on her blog!

Oh my goodness AJ! What an awesome giveaway! I have not used spray inks much as I always get big spots of color on my projects :( But thanks to your tips, I want them all now :) My favorite colors are green and purple so I would have to go with the second set, Bamboo Leavs and Lulu Lavender especially, but that Dandelion looks lovely too! Thanks for the chance to win :)

Would you both please email me, at the right----> and I will get these off in the mail to you! :)

And now for more spray ink action...

You are probably tired of me spraying everything lately! ;) I just love the shimmer and how you can create awesome different backgrounds each time.  For my card today, I have stamped the let's party and the lanterns from Technique Tuesday using Onyx Black VersaFine ink.  I then sprayed IMAGINE Crafts® Fireworks! Craft Spray onto my card stock from left to right using Grape Jelly, Cantaloupe, Tangelo, & Rose Bud.  You can see in the very bottom right corner, if you get a wee too close, you can get super thick coverage- still not blobs, but real nice dark ink coverage.

I finished my card off with some black and white polka dot washi tape, and some pink cardstock die cut with a Spellbinders die.

I have put away the Fireworks! for now, can't say it won't be back real soon though! :)

Welcome to another fun challenge this week! CAS Birthday project- easy enough, right?

And in honor of Michelle's upcoming 45th birthday, this weeks winner will get a $45 gift certificate to the CAS-ual Friday's stamp store!

For my card today, I used CAS-ual Fridays CAS-ual Elegance, & Countdown.  I stamped the background piece from Countdown onto the kraft layer, and again onto my die cut.  I tried to line up the pattern when placing my die.   Happy early birthday Michelle!!

AIR Post, Get Well Soon

I'm back again with more Fireworks Craft Ink Spray fun! *Warning, this is a photo heavy post. ;)

I have been spraying everything possible with my Fireworks Craft Ink Sprays-(including various parts of my office! ;)  and wanted to show you some more of what you can do with them.  I have used them for making backgrounds several times now, and today, I am using them to color my flowers.  I have die cut several flower and leaves from my Spellbinders dies.  On my craft mat, I have a spare piece of card stock laying down- I often use it to check color combos, or my nozzle.  If it's heavy or splotchy, I would prefer if happen on my scrap paper first.  If it does come out splotchy, simply open the top, and place back on and it corrects itself.  I start with spraying my leaves with Pear Tart.

I follow up with light mists of Bamboo Leaves, and then finish them off with a few light sprays of Cottage Ivy for some fun contrast.

Next I start spraying flowers- I'm not sure what I want yet, so I try several colors and combos to see what happens.  This is the most fun- just spray and see how it turns out.  Here I am spraying the Lady Bug.  (If you have some type of card board box, that would be best... just sayin'.  ;)

This one is sprayed with Cantaloupe.  I decide I want a bit more contrast in my color-

so here I smoosh my Cantaloupe flower around in the Lady Bug splatter still on my work mat.

Moving on to Lu Lu Lavender.  Again I decide it needs a bit of contrast, and I end up spritzing it with Grape Jelly as well.
For this flower, I try something different- I sprayed the backside of the box with Lilac Posies, and let just the mist fall onto the flower for a very spritzed looking effect.

I love the stippling it created doing it this way.

After having more fun than I should have spraying inks onto things, I now have several different flowers and leaves to choose from.

I happen to like the Cantaloupe/LadyBug mix, the Lilac Posies, & the Lulu Lavender/Grape Jelly flowers are what I want to use today.  And the paper with the splotches on it looks like a perfect fit!

My finished card- leaves are attached with Dodz adhesive dots, and the flowers are popped up with 3D Foam Squares.

I hope you get a chance to start playing with Fireworks!  I also have a giveaway courtesy of the awesome folks over at IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko here if you are looking to try some!

Yea for Friday! It's been a wicked crazy week here, and the weekend doesn't look to have any relief!  I am actually looking forward to Monday already if that's possible! ;)

Today's CAS-ual Friday's challenge is all that glitters- such an awesome challenge!

This weeks sponsor is Simon Says Stamps- winner will receive a $25 gift certificate!

I love glitter- and doing glitter with CAS can be challenging sometimes- I could easily go over board with it! ; )  For my card, I stamped the envies down the length of the card in Memento Tuxedo Black from IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko, and in Red Satin VersaFine on the circle die cut, and then covered with stickles.  I popped the blue panel up on to the white card base with Crafty Foam Tape.

AIR Tack 'N Peel challenge

Hiya, I have a fun project to share today using some of IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko Tack 'N Peel.

When we were challenged this month to use it make our own stamps from found objects-I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do.

And then I realized I could stamp with my Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ 3D Foam Squares!  After removing the Tack 'N Peel from the package, I placed it on the back of my sheet of 3D Foam Squares, then adhered it to my block.

I began to ink up the foam squares the same way I would a stamp using my VersaMagic Chalk ink in Aegean Blue.

I then stamped my cardstock the same way you would with a normal clear or rubber stamp.

And when your done, you can wipe off the ink from the foam squares, and use them to mount the die cut rectangle to you card.  ;) Or, ink them up with another color and create more backgrounds ;)

I finished off the card with a die cut flower from Spellbinders Paper Arts, and then stamped the sentiment from Avery Elle using Onyx Black VersaFine™ ink.

CFC97 Chevrons & Flowers

Oh wow- this week challenge is by far my fave. Chevrons & Flowers!  LOVED every challenge card this week- must have been the awesome chevrons.  ;)

This weeks winner will get a fabby little gift certificate to shop with at Ellen Hutson!

For my card today, I used Lawn Fawns So Much To Say & Chevron Backdrops.   I inked up the chevrons in one of my most favorite IMAGINE Craft/Tsukineko colors- Turquoise Gem VersaMagic.  I could stamp the walls in my house with it! ;)  The Spellbinders flower is popped up with 3D Foam Squares, as is the whole main panel.

My first card uses the patterned paper as the focus- I die cut several circles from the the Birthday Hoot paper pack, and popped them up with 3D Foam Squares.

My second card follows yesterdays card...After stamping the dargonflies and sentiment, I sprayed different shades of blue Fireworks across the main panel.  It's mounted on a dry embossed background.

My third card is my favorite of the bunch- I have a thing for stripes!  And that color blue in the patterned paper makes me happy!  I embossed the main panel before stamping the sentiment and bird image.  I popped the wing up with 3D Foam Squares to finish it off.

And for my last card, the stamped flowers are colored in with pastel pencils.  I inked up the stamp using a light shade, and colored over with various pastels.  Another new to me technique I have finally tried! I finished off the card with more of the pattern paper from the Spring Parade pack.

Make sure to check out the others today as well also!
