It's FRIDAY! and another @SimonSaysStamp card

And another... tomorrow will be the lsat of Halloween cards from me.  But I wanted to get as much use out of this Halloween set from SSS as I could this year~

Ive been creating a lot more projects lately, but not being on as many teams I find I am not as good at sharing as I used to be...I do miss being on a stamp team.   This card uses a new background stamp from SSS, and their Halloween set from the Stamptember release.

Enjoy! :) Pin It Now!

Pink Power Blog Hop *Fight Like a Girl*

Hello- Welcome to the Pink Power Blog Hop.  Chaitali has rounded up some of her crafty friends to help spread BC awareness. This is a cause close to her heart because she lost her mom to it earlier this year.

She wanted to have a hop that would help spread breast cancer awareness and support our loved ones going through treatment currently.

If you came from Vera's blog, you are in the right place!  If not, head back to Chaitali's blog and start there.

I have spent the last few weeks working on a benefit for one of the teachers at my daughters school who is battling breast cancer for 5 years now.  Sadly, she lost her fight early Saturday morning, the day of the event.  She found it late, stage 3 and has been in and out of treatment since her diganosis.  Early diagnosis is the key.  I myself am a 4 year survivor, and am thankful for finding it early.  Please remember to get checked and to REGULARLY check your self.

A few random facts that I learned along my journey.

  • Cancer does hurt.  Yes, my lump caused me so much pain and discomfort, it was the reason I decided to go in.
  • Cancer doesn't wait for you to be 40.  I kept thinking, I'm too young for cancer.
  • I had Triple Negative Breast Cancer, the most aggressive type.  There is no targeted therapy for TNBC, leaving it to have the highest rates of reoccurrence, and primarily targeting women under 40, and African American Women.  Again, EARLY DETECTION is the key here.
  • Bald isn't so bad, WAY less time in the morning getting ready.  (Although chilly when it's winter!) But I don't want to have to do it again. ;)
  • Reconstruction isn't easy or fun.  No, I'm not "lucky'' I have these fake ones. I might have NOT done it had I known just how involved it was.
  • Laughter will carry you far while battling this disease.
  • Learn to ask for help.  Take help. Don't be a hero trying to do it all.
  • Lastly, ditch Dr. Google.  He has the WORST advice when you are first going through it all.
On to my card. :)

I was able to use the very set that Chaitali designed Pink Power, for my project today. She designed the set for her mom with a lot of love when her mom was undergoing treatment.

I decided to use the Fight like a girl sentiment on my card.  That was my motto through it all.  I made this to give to my daughters teacher.

Next Stop on the hop is Julee's blog, and at the end head back on over to Chaitali's blog for a giveaway!   :)
Thanks Chaitali for including me on this hop! Pin It Now!
